About Haiji Toro from USA:
• I have been a fan/lamb of her music since "Vision of Love" (Apollo). • Favorite Mariah song is "Love Takes Time". I love the live version. • Favorite Mariah album is Butterfly. I was 16 and in a tough time in my life. The song "Outside" had a great impact in my life. It opened my eyes to life. It felt relieving to hear words I've already known so well, and someone actually understood how I felt. Overall, the entire album is flawless, in my opinion. • Favorite Mariah movie gotta be Glitter. I'm an 80's baby, so no diss, but I'm used to the corny dialogue and inexperienced acting. That movie definitely gave me a throwback vibe. It was very entertaining though and the soundtrack is very underrated.
•I'm Colombian & Palestinian, raised in the USA. •I think I'm Mariah when in the shower. •Spiritual, one of those "I love everyone", type of guy.

No problem. I could be wrong. I hope that I'm wrong. Does anyone know what other songs did she perform?

She looks really pretty and young. Unfortunately, it sounds prerecorded and looks lipped.

It's really sad because she really doesn't care. She stated it herself. I just wish she would've at least said "Except for my lambs, I care what they think."

Like Music fan stated in a previous post, seems like a recreation of Honey video lol. She's channeling "the escape from the filthy rich, old dude and ended up on the sands of beautiful Puerto-waii with some hot guy (attempting) to pick me up" era?

Yeah I agree, they're all about jokes and shade, at least not disrespectful like TMZ. I recall an episode where she was called a hooked by one of the TMZ guys. I'm still looking for that clip but haven't had any luck finding it.

Plot twist? Picture this (in Sophia's voice) lol what if the wedding dress scenes remain on the show, Hawaii will be part of the last episodes, the so-called Tanaka kiss, and then we find out she ended up marrying him in Hawaii. Next season will feature their future baby(ies). Then we get the spinoff "Carey the Tanaka".

Thank you RibbonB. I feel like all those being asked about her were somewhat shading her, it's like everyone is so tired of hearing about her personal life. I guarantee that if the question had anything to do with her music, then they'd all come to her defense, but instead it's all jokes and shade. And what was Darius M (Family Matters) trying to do though, he kinda came off like a perv lol. I watched Dish Nation last night and once again they brought Mimi up, talking about how she got dumped. All Brat said was "We don't get dumped, da'ling", and then stayed quiet, looking annoyed as Gary said "They keep getting tired of her", referring to the guys that have dated Mimi. Well, if attention and publicity is what M. wants, then she got it, but it ain't all good "honey".

Is Gary the older "feminine" guy? If so, I feel like he's always throwing shade at Mariah. I wonder how Brat feels everytime Gary and Co. throw her friend shade? As always though, Brat is such a great friend and comes to her defense. I love the show overall.

Weeknd's Startboy (68,802)
by Haiji Toro from USA
| |
|
|
I finally purchased the album last night and I haven't stopped listening. This album and Bruno's album, in my opinion, are probably this year's best overall. Bruno's album reminds me of an 80's New Edition sound. Bruno can do no wrong when it comes to his music. Now for Weeknd, this album has so much versatility yet still cohesive. Out of 19 tracks, I think I've skipped one track. I believe Mariah missed out on being part of this album, for it will definitely hit the top spot and garner a lot of attention in a good way. Even Sam Smith took part and his little part is amazing. Can someone please verify or confirm if there's any new beef/shade between Weeknd and Beyonce and Frank Ocean? I feel like reminder can be some sort of hit towards the two.

I'm really not sure honestly. I'm assuming it was either the director's choice or maybe even hers. We all know she has to do everything her own way. She even stated, "It's important to have everything a 'his & hers'", we'll you just saw the "hers" version lol. I'm only kidding.

Mandela effect? (68,661)
by Haiji Toro from USA
| |
|
|
OK so this is kind of off topic from the latest. I just recently discovered a change in a song. People may call it the "Mandela Effect", some might just call me crazy, whatever lol. I want to make sure that I'm not tripping. In the song "Boom Boom Pow" by The Black Eyed Peas, there's a line, "I'm so 2008, you sold 2000 too late", or something to that effect. I swear that I remember it being "2008". I've searched all over for this version and it's nowhere to be found. It now says "3008". Um did I miss something? When did this happen? So now my other question is, has anyone caught any changes like this in a Mariah song? Is there a lyric in her songs that you thought was but now has changed?

Martyn this is for you. I couldn't find the whole video. I remember seeing a full version but now that you mention it, I believe the version with Mariah was only released at first but then the version with Cheryl Cole was in replacement.

Haha yeah Mimi L. I was surprised that they would even mention Bryan Tanaka's crush, I wonder if they'll go beyond with the truth and actually shed light on the whole thing. I'm still not sure how I feel about this show, all I cared for was some new music, so I gotta just live with it for now. I really still think the majority of the show will be scripted, just like every other "reality" show.

Darren, my prayers will be with you and your loved ones, as well as your country. No one in this world, no matter their religion, skin color nor any other personal preference, should have to endure any of this nonsense and pain in their life. I wish there was more we can do for you aside from prayers. Unfortunately, this is something we all are gonna be facing in the next few months all around the world. In my job, we travel all around the world to help those in need in situations like the one you're in. I pray you stay safe and won't be one of the people I come across. Please stay away from anything and anyone that you do not know personally. Whatever your faith is, please pray and keep your strength up, believing that everything will be alright. God Bless.

I don't think she'll ever record a Spanish version of "I Only Wanted", seeing that she doesn't show much interest in that era, since we've been waiting forever for some type of release of "Yours (remix with Justin Timberlake)". One wish I've always had was for her to re-release past songs with new and updated vocals/ad-libs to fit her present voice or maybe even little tweeks of instrumentation and put them all on a compilation or remix album with past bonus/rare/unreleased/demo tracks.

Some latin-influenced songs, like "My All", "After Tonight" and "I Only Wanted". I can't really say I enjoyed any of her Spanish-speaking songs, mainly because, in my opinion, whomever translated the song to her and taught her how to say certain words, should never have been given that job to do so. It literally sounds like she was given a paper to read off seconds before she recorded the songs. If Mariah was to learn the language and correct pronunciation to where it flowed, and sang songs like "My All" but in Spanish, I would fall in love with her world lol that would melt my heart. Imagine her releasing an all Latin album? JLo, watch out. Who? Lol.
