About Luke from United Kingdom:

Re: New photo (66,630) (66,634) by Luke from United Kingdom
I needed that laugh. Probably my favourite post from you Andrew. Lol.

Also her hair is on point at the minute. It looks so much like it did in 1997 where she still had her natural brown but with golden highlights.

Re: Mariah during the Butterfly era (66,428) (66,442) by Luke from United Kingdom
I love that era too. The second photo you posted could be easily mistaken for a shoot from 1990. The only clue is her perfectly shaped brows she has from 1993-94 onwards. I wondered if she started wearing more make-up recently because of shooting the reality show and it's just something she's kept going.

Re: Empire (66,367) (66,374) by Luke from United Kingdom
Ah ok thank you. Although I love Mariah's upbeat songs I actually prefer her ballads when she does them well. I'm hoping the powers that be involved with Empire won't settle for a lacklustre song.

Empire (66,366) by Luke from United Kingdom
Is a clip of the song online anywhere? I've looked at the trailers on YT but can't seem to find one featuring it.

Re: Why so melodramatic? (66,318) (66,322) by Luke from United Kingdom
I get your points. Although other than fans not enjoying what she's doing, I haven't really seen her getting a bad rep in the press. As far as non fans are concerned she's been revealing since 2001. Even earlier if you want to count Butterfly. I think the thing is she's just not advertised that side of her on her social media accounts. She's always reserved it for album shoots, covers, performances. Compared to other celebs what she's doing is minimal. I think the reason it seems more tacky is because she's never been like this in things like Instagram. Had she been doing it for years most people probably wouldn't care. I do agree she could do with getting the pictures taken by someone older/more professional if that's the road she's going down. One thing I can agree with is why she's involving a 13 year old so much in those moments. Unfortunately she's been classed as a washed up diva for at least 5 years. If anything the comments about her being a diva have gotten less recently. I remember in about 2014 all I was reading in news articles or forums was how much of a self-absorbed diva she is, which I think was an effect of her divorce. That side of things seems to have died down now. I hope she plans to use Mariah's world to enlighten people about why she does the things does and who she really is.

Why so melodramatic? (66,317) by Luke from United Kingdom
I understand where people are coming from when they say they're confused about Mariah's new actions involving social media/online persona but you need to lighten up a little. In my opinion it seems to me she's not taking it very seriously and she's having a little fun. I could be wrong and she could be on the path of a midlife crisis but I don't think that's what's happening. When she's not on camera or having pictures taking of her for social media (except for paparazzi) she lets herself go and wears clothes that are comfortable, some of which are completely the opposite of flattering because she doesn't care. Just like most of us would do if we were on holiday. Now it's different when she's doing things for Instagram/social media, she's over top because believe it or not she needs the attention to succeed in this day and age. She may have said she wouldn't do reality TV but that was a different time. This is a time where people want to know everything about celebrities and they want it fast. People feed off revealing shots and controversial images/videos. Look at Katie Hopkins, everyone hated her when she first came out but now she has a massive following. She knew how to be controversial and how to stir it up. Mariah is playing a game in a world which is highly visual compared to 5-10 years ago and I think she's playing it well. She isn't going to get another hit record playing it safe like Celine Dion. It may be shocking to her fans because we know what she's been like in the past but for people who don't follow her yet this might reel them in and they'll find her entertaining. Times have changed, she's changing with it and I'm hopping along for the ride because lifes too short to take this stuff seriously.

Re: 5 Whitney songs that Mariah would slay (66,210) (66,234) by Luke from United Kingdom
Ooh I've always thought Mariah would be great singing Greatest Love Of All. And I imagined her singing the last "love" belt as a really long and ethereal whistle. Lol. One can only dream.

Exactly. You explained it better than I did lol.

Bath selfie (66,052) by Luke from United Kingdom
Wasn't there a campaign a few months ago about women being able to show there nipples? Something like #FreeTheNipple? It's only our society that says the appearance of boobs is wrong. Plenty of men have boobs when they're a little heavier, some bigger than women's yet nobody slanders them. Plus she successfully created a bubblebra. I'm more concerned about that eyelash invading her eyeball. Evasive maneuvers Mariah.

Re: What the hell (66,019) (66,032) by Luke from United Kingdom
I know what I posted. Have you even heard the term "chubby cheeks"? People can have chubbier cheeks and still be slim. Look at her profile of her smiling when she's younger and you'll see her cheeks stand out more than most people's. Of course it's been less noticable when she slims down.

Re: What the hell (66,002) (66,013) by Luke from United Kingdom
I'm not saying she was big in the 90's. Of course she's been slim in those days but what I was saying is her cheeks have always been a prominent feature on her face. It's not a bad thing, I'd love cheeks like that. Take a chill pill.

Re: Mariah's face (65,984) (65,990) by Luke from United Kingdom
I'm not a fan of botox either. I'm pretty sure there are natural enhancers that fade after a few weeks and look more natural. She's always been chubby in her cheeks so anything she puts into her face is only going to emphasise that.

Re: Mariah's face (65,956) (65,972) by Luke from United Kingdom
It's pretty obvious she's having botox which isn't permanent. Joan Rivers was having plastic surgery and face lifts in her thirties. Most celebrities have botox because it fades after months and they usually have it done about 1 month prior to an event so they looks flawless on camera. My guess is she's been having it around her under eyes and cheek area because she's never really used many expressions with her forehead but she does smile a lot.

Re: The voice dilemma (65,595) (65,600) by Luke from United Kingdom
I agree, if she just embraced her current voice people would love it. Voice cracks are in. Look at Sia, her voice is the crackiest in all the land and people love her. If Mariah let her voice cracks show she's probably sound really fresh ironically.

Re: New promo (65,532) (65,539) by Luke from United Kingdom
I don't understand why she needs to be naked? Most of the time I don't mind the shoots Mariah does or the songs she brings out but I wonder if she actually think this one looks good. Lets put it this way, you wouldn't see Celine doing an image like that to promote her shows. Even an image of Mariah's face with her holding her ear like she was hitting a high note would have been better. Shame.

Re: Wait... but... seriously? (65,484) (65,487) by Luke from United Kingdom
The thing is there are so many better songs in her catalog of songs to get funky to lol. Hero would be such a random choice.

Re: Style (65,304) (65,330) by Luke from United Kingdom
I love your edits. It is surprising how much younger she can look with a change of outfit. She'd look pretty fab wearing those too while strutting on stage. I gave you a follow too btw.

Re: The emancipation of boobies (65,219) (65,224) by Luke from United Kingdom
That's true. Even if she had revisited the outfit she wore when she performed Last Night a DJ Saved My Life where she had the bra underneath the suit-dress. I think would have looked more UN worthy compared to trousers and a jacket lol.

Re: The emancipation of boobies (65,200) (65,210) by Luke from United Kingdom
I don't really mind it. She can make it look really glamorous and tasteful like when she went to Leonardo's event in the black low-cut dress. I doubt she'll stop because of her children, they're probably exposed to worse considering the life they have so I don't think her boobs will be the thing to traumatise them. Most of the time the only thing she's flaunting are her boobs it could be a lot worse. Thank the gods she isn't doing a JLo and going out in a dress with more sheer panelling than actual material lol. And she has kids also. Does Mariah even have a stylist at the minute? I assumed she just dressed herself.

The emancipation of boobies (65,198) by Luke from United Kingdom
She's had them out for years. Literally over a decade she has been showing them off, why is everyone bothered by them now? Sure she could wear less revealing stuff but she probably won't. She's Mariah Carey and to be fair if I have a body like that at her age I'd have fun with it lol. Look through old photos of her over the years and there is a running theme of the types of dresses/outfits she likes to wear that flaunt that part of her body.

Mimi the controversial (65,092) by Luke from United Kingdom
I've been thinking about how Mariah has been showcasing herself in the media lately and although it seems drastic I don't think she's oblivious to what's going on around her. People or her fans may not agree with how she does things occasionally but you have to agree she knows how to keep people talking about her constantly. She never stops. Sometimes it works to disappear like what Adele did, but what Mariah does is she keeps herself afloat. Much like how you bump a post on Facebook to keep it at the top so people see it more. I really want to hear new music but I also don't want it to go down the drain like her last album, which is why I think what she's doing now is genius. Hopefully this "docu-series" will get people to fall for her again and then buy her music. As well as, the movies/shows she's going to make with Hallmark and Empire.

Re: Style (64,336) (64,341) by Luke from United Kingdom
Wow that's a really good edit and she would look amazing like that. A darker hair colour would suit her also like caramel blonde? She should be brave and experiment more, I would if I could afford expert stylists like her haha.
