Libra Lamb, I usually agree with your points of view except this one. That argument is very dated especially in the smartphone/social media age we live in today, with the entertainment industry practically inescapable. Audio and video streaming are at kids' fingertips with just a simple click most notably YouTube. Sam Smith went from being a respectable singer who came across as super talented, to straight up gender confused clown show, kinda like what happened with Miley Cyrus and the world immediately tuned off and out on those two. To think there was much a do about Mariah dressing sexy in the late 90's, when compared to the stunts pulled by today's acts she would be Mary Poppins. Random post - SZA (103,598) by Terna from Nigeria I must say I'm impressed with her songwriting so far out of all the new girls, she does stand out and has an uncanny ability for storytelling, that extra something that sets her apart from the rest. Her second album is surprisingly stronger than the first and that's saying a lot because that album was a smash. I heard this version a while back and totally forgot about it. I swear, Mariah's voice is a whole weapon. And this was her instrument at its absolute best. I think it takes a whole month to recover being in total silence (making reference to Adele's case) and her kids are old enough to know how serious the situation is to support her. Perfection (103,192) by Terna from Nigeria I rarely indulge in those AI remakes of hers, especially covering other people's songs. However, this is a song written by Mariah, that has her signature sound I always wanted to hear her sing, since I know those are her own words and lets face it "Last Chance" is a really beautiful song, I wish she had kept for herself, I even feel it's a better ballad than some of the songs that made the final cut on "Butterfly" especially if she had given it that extra touch. This AI version is the closest we would ever have to her version (unless of course Mariah has an ace up her sleeve). P.S. AI has been in music already for at least a decade with synthesizers, Digital Audio Workstations (DAWs), all that is computer generated already anyway, it's just now focusing on the vocals which many even though don't want to admit use autotune, Melodyne etc. And now the ability to create whole songs using a "mosaic" so to speak of the said artist's singing. Perfection (103,170) by Edward from USA I've always thought Mariah had written "All Cried Out", but it turns out she didn't. It's a remake from the 80's. I'm stunned. There's a possibility Mariah actually remade "All Cried Out" for herself, shelved it and later produced it for Allure. A demo wouldn't make sense now since the original singer sings it in the same key and could be used as a reference.
