About Luke from United Kingdom:

Re: Age (60,068) (60,070) by Luke from United Kingdom
Good points. I wasn't buying that statement either. I think they were just buttering up The Beatles' fans so their weaves slide off easier when she comes for them. Haha.

Re: Age (60,055) (60,058) by Luke from United Kingdom
That's true that she's more well known. I do think that she'd be able to connect with a younger audience again though because she's done it before like you said with TEOM. Older artists have made hits like Madonna but when Mariah makes a good hit they become timeless. I've also always found her music never sounds to "try hard" like she really really wants to connect with a younger audience, which seems to be a habit some artists fall into. However, she could slip into that habit if she's not careful. She can definitely pull it out of the bag again and there are people in the music industry who think so too, like when that survey was released about which artist the managers would support.

Age (60,046) by Luke from United Kingdom
I was thinking today how age might not be that big of an issue when it comes to sales of a song. When people aren't that interested in a singer like their fans the age of that singer becomes irrelevant, especially if they look good. What got me thinking this was Gwen Stefani's new song/video and how I honestly thought she was in her early/mid 30's but I only found out she was in her mid 40's because I looked at the comments and there were others that didn't realise too. I think age comes into play more in the background with the radios/music companies and how much attention a record label will give an artist. I think Mariah can hit a lot of people and get more people loving her because she looks nowhere near 40. She just needs a killer song and an amazing video. I would say with plenty of stunts because people aren't going to watch her spilling champagne and applying lip gloss forever.

New single (59,972) by Luke from United Kingdom
Mariah said in an interview she's going to take time perfecting her next album but a new single will be soon. I hope they make it count.

Re: 1OAK (59,922) (59,927) by Luke from United Kingdom
I agree with the make-up side, I do think she looks prettier with less. I think she's trying to channel the Marilyn/Hollywood glam style while she's been in Vegas.

Stella / Melisandre (59,915) by Luke from United Kingdom
When I see Stella she reminds me more and more of Melisandre from Game Of Thrones. I can see Mariah having vocal issues and Stella pearing into her mouth chanting "Your throat is dark and full of terrors."

Re: 1OAK (59,908) (59,914) by Luke from United Kingdom
Aww she looks fab. She looked like the time she performed Love Hangover/Heartbreaker for the tribute to Diana in 1998-ish. Mimi just out of curiosity if you could style her how would you do it?

Re: Not a good look (59,884) (59,886) by Luke from United Kingdom
I wouldn't be worried yet. They way Mariah and L.A Reid were talking about her #1's and not overtaking The Beatles last year made me think they had a plan in motion. I could be wrong but she's obviously not finished yet because she's making music, and knowing Mariah I think getting passed The Beatles may just be one of her final goals musically. It won't be easy but TEOM wouldn't have been easy either when everyone was writing her off. When she's in a good place her music touches people and when it does people buy it. Even people who bitch about her.

Re: Broadway loves Mariah - best tribute ever (59,613) (59,615) by Luke from United Kingdom
Wow she sings so beautifully. It not often I get moved by Mariah covers but she is wonderful. It makes me think what if Mariah done something similar? Just really strip back her songs and sing them at her own pace but composed in a way that it still sounds the same. I'd love to just see her sit down at a mic with a guitar player sat next to her. Thanks for sharing that.

Is this a recent interview you're talking about?

Also sorry about my "amazing" wide vocabulary. Haha.

Re: MC sings with the interviewer (59,568) (59,569) by Luke from United Kingdom
That was amazing. The emotion she manages to show in her voice in those few seconds was amazing. She really should do an acapella session or something.

"You" (59,542) by Luke from United Kingdom
Does anyone else notice Mariah sings her "you" differently now? I'm not complaining I'm just confused why she does it now. To me it almost sounds like she saying it through her nose.

Re: Mariah Carey calls for more diversity (59,460) (59,467) by Luke from United Kingdom
She did actually use white dancers at the WMA in 2014 when singing Meteorite.

Re: Question time (59,462) (59,466) by Luke from United Kingdom
Definitely upbeat, I really want her to do something along the lines of Get Right/Respect by Aretha. Something kinda clubby but still has soul.

Stella (59,377) by Luke from United Kingdom
Stella is a member of the Illuminati and allows Mariah to inhale the youth from her children to maintain her everlasting glow and vitality.

Re: Mariah's style for new Vegas shows (59,351) (59,354) by Luke from United Kingdom
Or if she does wear wigs she should go all cray cray, Bette Midler style.

Continent, my utmost apologies. You get the idea though, I'm sure.

Re: I can't be the only one (59,256) (59,272) by Luke from United Kingdom
I agree it's a lot of money for one ring. I always think if you're that rich help the world you live in while treating yourself, we live together and we should help each other. I know Mariah has given a lot to charities, as well as her own charity she set up so long ago. I'm not sure about James and I've never looked into him, I hope he gives and I think being around Mariah he might start too. Don't forget all the royalty and politicians (not to mention the Catholic church) on this planet have enough money to lift places like Africa out of poverty. But doing that would make Africa a country to be reckoned with. Not to mention getting oil and those things would be nearly impossible.

Re: In search for the right kind of lover (59,269) (59,271) by Luke from United Kingdom
And Mariah has had many husbands/boyfriends. Don't try a ruin a good thing just because of how either of their past relationships turned out.

Re: St Barts (59,215) (59,219) by Luke from United Kingdom
Being on a moist (love that word), sandy, windy beach with photographers taking low angle pictures is hardly ever going to be flattering. She looks better than I would and she's half my age haha.

Re: Empire (59,186) (59,189) by Luke from United Kingdom
I'm not sure either, her acceptance speech seemed strange to me as well. Kinda like she knew she was getting that globe haha. It's probably more about her gaining more publicity/fans that she's lost since her last album so maybe her next one performs better. I feel if Jessica Lange was still in it, her and Mariah would be amazing. She could totally play Mariah's diva grandmother or something.

Re: Empire (59,174) (59,181) by Luke from United Kingdom
I don't know why but I want to see Mariah in something random like Bates Motel/AHS haha. It would be so different it might give her good press. Lady Gaga got a Golden Globe out of it. I also think she really gets into characters that are totally different from her.

Re: "Best-selling female artist of all time" title (59,152) (59,153) by Luke from United Kingdom
I think it's a sneaky way of saying that she sold a lot in a short amount of time. I always think it's kinda like when you pick up any book it usually always say "#1 Best Seller".

Travon, I see where you're coming from but can we please keep on topic and talk about Adele?
