Ya I was like wow that's so random that she stops at TEOM but what you said makes sense although I think this would have been a good opportunity for her to promote some of her relatively newer albums like singing The Distance, #Beautiful, A No No etc.

Did we get the full set list? I'm surprised there's no DFAU. She could have done a medley of One and Only and So Lonely. I saw she started with VOL. That's odd since the show is supposed to be a celebration of TEOM and she had ILT, SIO as perfect openers. Was there a reason behind her doing older songs for a majority of the show and then TEOM later? If so why no songs from albums after TEOM? All things aside she looks stunning, the gold dress she wears at the beginning of the TEOM set was beautiful and very TEOM coded. What I loved about some of the videos are that she was walking around by herself and even did a mini almost sprint. All these visually creates a more engaging show rather than using dancers as crutches. So she'll only get better. I hope with each show she also stops relying too much on the teleprompter but as always her shows getting better with more dates. The stage looks nice and moody very TEOM coded. All things asides I think in person the show was a lot better than whatever we can see from low res videos.

I'm honestly secretly happy JLo is finally exposed by masses because she was always known to steal songs and not sing on her own records and be very rude but her team always manages to sweep it under the rug and make her out to be a big deal shifting the focus on her glam looks and fashion moments. Now it's all over how she's so shady. It's satisfying that it's also happening when she has so much hanging on her relevance (since she spent 20 million of her own money on the new projects). Karma is real because she was instrumental in bringing dragging Mariah when Mariah was at her lowest and then claim she had no idea and paints Mariah to be the stuck up one.

Personally if she's still working out things on the business side I'd rather her not make promises of new music because then it could be anywhere between months to years that we'd hear of new music. I want her to figure stuff out behind the scenes before she gets our hopes up.

"The One" would have been a better choice. And it was the original choice. The video for Boy was for "The One" but I think the label made her change it because I remember a video where someone asks her about The One and she says something like you should ask the label I want it to be a single. I also love the remix of The One.

Haha I'm dead. I agree. Like if Mariah would have flat out said that she's not working on any new material right now I would have accepted, but she went on multiple interviews promising various projects coming out "soon" over the last 2-3 years so that makes it annoying. Like from her own words we heard about TBL, concept album, gospel album, some jazz stuff, new album almost ready and so much more, yet we get random announcements like a residency.

Shezz did you see Mariah recently threw "shade" the insider account? Someone subtweeted the insiders post talking about how Mariah's music is coming soon and she has a video ready with big stars and hasn't rested at all. The subtweet had the caption "source: voices in my head" and Mariah "liked" that tweet. So I wonder if that means she's dismissing the account's claims.

I love that Mariah is feeling herself. She is taking small risks personally that she said she would never do. Like being photographed from her "bad side", jumping on Ariana's remix and now sporting a red lip. I remember her saying multiple times she doesn't wear red lipstick because it doesn't suit her yet here we have her this year posting 2 photos wearing it. Glad to see she's taking over her insecurities one small thing at a time.

Yes it's not completely surprising that Mariah is ranked above Taylor. Taylor is current news, Mariah is eternal news. Since her debut she's been relevant and in headlines whether it's because of her voice, her changing musical genre, her changing looks, her up and down with Tommy, her breakdown, her shades, her #1s and her Christmas dominance. Mariah may not sell as much nowadays but her accumulated relevance is major and of course she's had more years than Taylor. Let's not forget that even though Taylor is untouchable now this wasn't the case before. So spent a majority of her career being considered a "teen icon" and then with the Kanye and Famous drama everyone dropped her. It took her years to build up to the fame she has now and finally now she's broken out of the "teen market" too mass market. Let's also not forget that just a few years back Taylor had to release 100 versions of 1 single to compete with a 20 year old Christmas song only to be dropped after 1 week. Even now she is setting up the release of her next album with 4-5 different versions and no this isn't a "deluxe" or "extended" version like every artist does. She is putting 1 exclusive song in each album to nudge her fans to buy all to "complete their collection". Taylor undoubtedly is a massive player in the music industry and thank God she's talented but Mariah is in a legends zone.

This "I'm a Mariah Carey fan" version of the "Of course" trend is so iconic I love it. The Mariah-isms are iconic. I'm dying at the "of course I run out of the frame at the end of the video" with her signature hand under chin wave and running out of frame in her social media videos and also the "of course I didn't mean it when I said I didn't love you so" and leaning against the wall with arms stretched haha. So iconic.

Mariah is out here looking like a mermaid. First of all I don't think I've ever seen her in this shade of blue. She looks great. But I wonder if she's doing a professional shoot. Because she's fully done up. Like usually in Mariah's vacation photos she has her natural girls and no makeup. Here she's full done hair and makeup and not only that she's wearing darker eye makeup. Plus she's in a gown.

Ugh yes her whole "Jenny from the block" spiel is so overdone. She has lived more of her life outside of the block than she did in it. Plus she talks about being from the block (and pretends she's still from there at heart) yet she is one of the most demanding and rude celebrities out there with countless people coming out calling her out. Her PR touts her as a triple threat "actress, singer, dancer" but if anything she's only a performer. She can't act to save her life and we all know how she uses other singer's vocals in her songs. Only thing she's got going for her is a great stylist. Her makeup line is a huge flop too breaking people out. Her trying to use her relationship to relaunch her career was also stupid. She thought people cared as much about Bennifer as they did in 2000s.
