Moments With Mimi (90,391)
by Rashidi Rahim Rick from Malaysia
| |
|
|
It would be much better if Mariah replace Moments With Mimi to Unplugged With Mimi. She can use the social media to gain public interest with her live vocals. She can do as many takes she wants to perfect the vocals. I believe Mariah's vocals would shine more in a controlled environment. It's such a waste she uses the social media exposure to make videos about cooking, make up and play charade games.

Caution Unplugged (89,570)
by Rashidi Rahim Rick from Malaysia
| |
|
|
I think it's about time Mariah does a tv performance and call it "Caution Unplugged". This tv special may helps with the streaming or sales of her album. She can do 6 or 7 songs plus an interview, so approximately am one hour show.

Wise Girls 2 (83,098)
by Rashidi Rahim Rick from Malaysia
| |
|
|
I read another post about suggestion of Mariah doing Glitter 2. But I would say what about Mariah doing sequel to Wise Girls instead? The plot could be just like this: Detective kate (Melora) is assigned a task to infiltrate a drug ring in a restaurant (or whatever) and she requested the help of Meg (Mira) and Raychel (Mariah) to bust the criminals, in exchange of the crime they both committed in the past. So this could be like Charlie's Angels kind of movie. The movie could also be for tv movie, just like what Mariah did for her Christmas Hallmark channel.

Where I Belong (82,730)
by Rashidi Rahim Rick from Malaysia

Will we ever see the day where she releases the song and the video? From the snippets I've heard, the song is catchy and perfect for the summer.

I Pray (82,581)
by Rashidi Rahim Rick from Malaysia
| |
|
|
I always feel that I Pray was supposed to be included in The Emancipation Of Mimi, and she decided to omit the song because of two reasons: the first reason was because LA Reid made her to record more songs with Jermaine therefore several songs from the original tracklist needed to be omitted. Second reason, the way Paul Robbins sings on the song is exactly carbon copy of Mariah's technique and style. The true lambs would notice this. So I'm convinced that the original audio of Mariah singing this song is definitely in her catalogue. I'm praying one day Mariah would release this and other songs like Where Are You Christmas and Last Chance (Allure song but Mariah wrote and produced this song).

Second Chance (82,309)
by Rashidi Rahim Rick from Malaysia
| |
|
|
In one of the old interviews, Mariah told that she would love to have an album consist of all her unreleased songs and named the album as "Second Chance". So I guess if the new album is still farther away, she can just compile all her unreleased songs (she has plenty obviously) including her Pepsi Ringtone song, Time of Your Life, and make it into full song and release it as first single. The song is perfect for the summer. She can have her 19th #1.

Re: New album title (82,135)

I just found out from another forum (UKMix) that Mariah has registered a song at the ASCAP site titled "Headlines". I think "Headlines" is such a catchy album title.

New album title (81,873)
by Rashidi Rahim Rick from Malaysia
| |
|
|
It would be super if she named her new album with one word title as before. I would suggest "Inspired" or "Inspiration", "Blessed" or maybe "Limelight". It just came to my knowledge from reading other forum that Limelight was the original album title for Rainbow. As for her new single, it would be best if she goes for uptempo song like Time Of Your Life. She can even finish up that song and release it next month (perfect for summer).

All I Want For Christmas live at St John 1994 (79,950)
by Rashidi Rahim Rick from Malaysia

I believe that this is the perfect time to release the live performance of All I Want For Christmas at St John The Divine 1994. The live performance would definitely increase the hype of the song and hopefully it will increase streaming and download.

Maid outfit hairstyle (52,231)
by Rashidi Rahim Rick from Malaysia
| |
|
|
Do you guys remember the hairstyle that Mariah had when she rocked that maid outfit on Ellen? I think it would be the best hairstyle for this era. Just imagine Mariah with that hairstyle wearing the black dress similar to the Infinity cover singing My All, Love Takes Time and I Don't Wanna Cry. Perfect.

Black and white cover art (51,986)
by Rashidi Rahim Rick from Malaysia
| |
|
|
Wow, I really like it. The photo has less photoshop and the dress screams classy. Regardless what cover art, we need to come out full force to make Infinity number one. I hope the song would be about the greatest love someone has for the other, like "we belong together for infinity" kind of lyrics. The video needs to have theatrical elements in order to grasp public's attention. I remember Mariah said that the success of Heartbreaker was partially due to the video that had a great storyline including a great fight scene. As for her vocal performance, I pray that Mariah spends time to work out in order to gain more stamina and strength to belt all of her 90's hits like no one can. It doesn't hurt if she looks exactly like American Idol era.

Infinity music video (51,803)
by Rashidi Rahim Rick from Malaysia
| |
|
|
Wouldn't it be great if she wears the exact same dress on the new album cover in the new music video of Infinity? Definitely she needs to work out hard to gain that body just to silence all the photoshop-critics. I pray for Infinity to reach #1 on Billboard Hot 100, her 19 #1 at tracklisting #19. How ironic is that?

Infinity (51,518)
by Rashidi Rahim Rick from Malaysia

I really hope Infinity would be an uptempo song in the same group as Dreamlover, Fantasy, Honey and Heartbreaker. The song needs a big budget video, maybe in Las Vegas.

Christmas movie male lead (51,205)
by Rashidi Rahim Rick from Malaysia
| |
|
|
Oh gosh, now that Mariah and Brett have announced the Christmas movie they are working on, I'm assuming that Mariah would take the female lead, and who would be the perfect actor for the male lead? What about Dwayne Johnson (aka The Rock)? He's good friend with Brett and Mariah though. Mariah even attended the Hercules premiere (the movie was directed and produced by Brett). Or maybe Hugh Jackman. I remember he said something about wanting to work with Mariah in interview during People's Choice Awards 2010. They even snapped a photo together. What do you guys think is the best male lead? Give your opinion, who knows they are reading this board and decide it's a good idea.

Honey video (original and remix) (51,069)
by Rashidi Rahim Rick from Malaysia
| |
|
|
I do agree that Honey video is the epitome or blueprint for all music video of female singers in the land. I was 16 years old when the video came out and I still remember talking to myself how beautiful Mariah was in the video. She was so perfect looking especially in the remix video where she parted all her hair to left covering her left eye. She even performed this live with the same hairstyle and look at Top Of The Pops in 1997 wearing the white ensemble. Perfect.

Unreleased songs (50,827)
by Rashidi Rahim Rick from Malaysia
| |
|
|
Now that she is back to Sony, I guess it's the perfect time to release all her unreleased recorded songs from 1990 until 2000. For example, Where Are You Christmas, left off songs from Glitter (Turn You Loose), and I'm sure she has couple of left off songs from her debut album as well as from the epic trinity albums Music Box, Daydream and Butterfly. Just imagine how the vocals would be.

Whitney Mariah Celine Madonna Janet (50,574)
by Rashidi Rahim Rick from Malaysia

Oh boy, here we are again, discussing the good old divas. Those who lived in the 90's surely cannot escape from hearing and listening to these 5 ultimate divas. It's a shame that those 5 were not able to share a stage together. The year 1997/1998 were definitely the year where all these divas releasing their masterpiece album. Whitney: My Love Is Your Love Mariah: Butterfly Celine: Let's Talk About Love Madonna: Ray Of Light Janet: Velvet Rope

How I wish (50,402)
by Rashidi Rahim Rick from Malaysia
| |
|
|
How I wish that it was Mariah who was paying tribute to Julie Andrews (as Maria) singing the soundtracks medley of The Sound Of Music. That would be a great promotion for her Vegas gig as well as gaining back the confident of public on her singing. Just imagine it was Mariah who was getting the standing ovation and the next day it was all over the news and went viral at social media. How I wish.

My All live at Saturday Night Live 1997 (50,057)
by Rashidi Rahim Rick from Malaysia
| |
|
|
In my humble view, Mariah's best performance of My All would be at SNL 1997. That's where she looked the best, golden side-parted hair and she's wearing a red top, black suit and black pants, talk about sexy and classy at the same time. Her voice was on point, lower, middle and high range were all perfectly executed. She seemed to be in full confidence and in control of the performance. How I wish the new generations would be able to see this performance. Somehow, deep inside me, I wish Mariah could deliver her vocals just like this performance again.

How can he be truth to Mariah on her voice when he's also jumping on the same ship with her lipsyncs his high notes in I'll Be There lately. Talk about birds of a feather flock together.

Change of setlist (49,758)
by Rashidi Rahim Rick from Malaysia
| |
|
|
I agree with certain fans on this messageboard that recommended Mariah to ignore her belting hits songs (WBT, Hero, VOL etc) and just focus on changing her setlist that compliment her current vocals. The Lullaby Of Birdland is just perfect song for her current vocals. I list down Mariah's original songs that does not involved belting and much more suitable for her now: 1. Close My Eyes (she loves this song) 2. Petals (she loves this as well) 3. Looking In 4. Right To Dream 5. Underneath The Stars (just ignore the belting adlibs) 6. Love Story (acoustic) 7. Thirsty 8. Beautiful 9. I Know What You Want 10. Do You Know Where You're Going To If she performed those above songs, fans and new would go crazy over her all over again.

Damage control (49,693)
by Rashidi Rahim Rick from Malaysia
| |
|
|
In my humble view, I would say the best that Mariah and her team could do to control the damage that is done is by releasing a new single and promote the hell out of it with live raw vocal performance. The song must be an inspirational ballad with killer vocals, maybe Bring It On Home or maybe Save The Day. She needs to promote the song on all major tv talkshow, like at David Letterman, The Talk, Ellen, Jimmy Fallon, Jimmy Kimmel, etc. In a way the single could raise higher publicity to her Vegas show.

Earpiece problems (49,618)
by Rashidi Rahim Rick from Malaysia
| |
|
|
As a fan since 1995, I do observed that since 2005 Mariah keeps on having earpiece problem during her live performance. I list down all those live performances where she's having those earpiece drama. 1. American Music Awards 2005 2. Good Morning America 2008 3. Live in Morocco 2012 4. Live in Australia 2013 5. Good Morning America 2013 6. Live at Rockefeller Center 2014 7. Live at Beacon Theatre 2014 8. Live in Jamaica 2015 Mariah and her team needs to look at this earpiece problem as serious and damaging. I still hope her Vegas stint would be free from all this earpiece drama.
