Re: Obsessed (90,621) (90,623) by B from USA The Tik Tok Obsessed challenge has increased its spins on Spotify and other streaming sites and YouTube views, and it charted (re-charted) on iTunes (global iTunes?). Some publications have even declared it the Song of the Summer. I love that it's changed how the teenyboppers view Mariah and has piqued their interest in her back catalog. Here are several articles about the Tik Tok Obsessed challenge. The first article explains the origin of the challenge, the second article is about how it went viral/became a meme, and the third article declares that thanks to the challenge Obsessed became the song of the summer. My local record store sold her single for twice as much as singles from other artists and when I asked the owner why he said he did so because her fans will pay. The My All/Breakdown single was priced as basically two single and the My All maxi single was grossly overpriced. Exactly. A small chain of record stores discounted Loverboy (some even gave it away for free) to make room for new releases, but when it was first released it was the same price as every other single in the store. The author of that article is a diehard Beatles fan and takes every opportunity to regurgitate this nonsense. Roger Friedman from Showbiz411 started this mess when Loverboy was discounted. He wrote an article in which he claimed all 15 of her #1's had been discounted. Like he wrote that article right after Mariah's NYE debacle. Pathetic. (Thursday 15 August 2019; 14:20)

I think she's going to release the follow up to Caution in spring of 2020 and it will be a summery feel-good album, the perfect album for spring/summer like Caution was the perfect fall/winter album. Love interview (90,535) by B from USA In the Love interview, it's implied by the interviewer that the release of Mariah's memoir will coincide with the 30th anniversary of the release of Mariah Carey.
