Already suffering a wardrobe mishap?

She is known for her stunning voluptuous figure. And Mariah's costume nearly struggled to contain her curves as she was seen preparing to film scenes for her new movie The Butler for the first time today. The 42-year-old singer, who plays the role of Hattie Pearl in the feature, was seen hitching up her strapless dress as she made her way around the set in New Orleans.

The Butterfly songstress looked in great shape in the ruched brown maxi dress, which she paired with black stilettos. Mariah had her trademark waves swept up in a headscarf, and shielded her eyes with some tinted Seventies-style sunglasses. Her towering heels appeared to be giving her grief at some points throughout the day and she even required some assistance from a crew member to get around the location.

In between takes, Mariah was seen buzzing around the set with various crew members and also stopped to pose for some pictures with some young children. During the gruelling day of filming, the singer kept perked up with a cup of coffee.

Mariah is no stranger to the silver screen. She has also starred in the 2009 Award-winning drama Precious. Before that she also played the lead in the panned film Glitter, where she earned the 2001 Golden Raspberry Award for Worst Actress.

Mariah joins a slew of stars in The Butler, set to be released next year. The star-studded film tells the tale of a White House butler who serves eight Presidents over the course of three decades. Other A-listers in the film include Minka Kelly, James Marsden, Cuba Gooding Jr., Lenny Kravitz, Liam Neeson, Robin Williams, Nicole Kidman, John Cusack and Forest Whitaker.

The film is directed by Lee Daniels, the filmmaker previously known for Mariah's 2009 hit film Precious and also for penning Halle Berry hit Monster's Ball. The movie also stars talkshow queen Oprah Winfrey, who has been seen on the set sporting a grey hairpiece.
