About Joyce from USA: Wow! I got bashed a year or 2 ago for saying the truth that now people are saying and agreeing with, Mariah may be enjoying a "splash" too much with too many " Festive" "Moments". I reached out to Jermaine Dupree back in 2009 on his youtube page private message, to mention a suggestion, all that "bubblie" may take a permanent toll on her voice over time. I fear it already has. The music sounds very modern and a breath of fresh air.

Finally (54,990) by Joyce from USA
Nice, he finally got her to stop flashing her boobs. He seems to be classing her up like she use to be. Sexy Mariah with side boobs, and barely there bottoms was nice for the last 14 years but Classy M is warmly welcomed.

Identity crisis (50,010) by Joyce from USA
I think she is having an identity crisis and the first thing that came to mind was this whole Marylyn Monroe glamor thing. Total fail. And the voice is just like the last article says, she needs to start working out. Though, I’m starting to wonder if she may really be suffering from ill effects of vocal surgery. [censored] Does anyone one know when she had the vocal surgery?

"Divorce is hot topic... too hot" (46,399) by Joyce from USA
She looks really good in that TMZ video. She looks so back down to earth and like she's 35. She should really stay that look.

What does [sic] mean? (46,362) by Joyce from USA
I just read the article about what Nick Cannon's dad wrote. Can someone please tell me wat the in captions (sic) stands for. It makes no sense to me. [Webmaster: See Wikipedia.]

Not "over 200 million albums" (45,999) by Joyce from USA
Maybe, I think what they meant to say was units sold? There were maxi-singles sales that had various remixes and B sides that also sold millions. It's nice too look at them all in the discography. Back in the 90's not only did you look forward to the albums, but the cover art of the cassette tapes/CD's. My favorites were the "Anytime you need a friend remixes", "My all/Stay a while remix" and "Heartbreaker remix" where she sings "Cuase you know how we make each other feel, don't go and break my heart. So why don't you come on bay-bah, we shouldn't be apart." I loved it. Oh, the 90's. Mariah was vocal super-hero leaping and flying in a leauge of her own.

The reason is (45,871) by Joyce from USA
I don't think it's the music that's the problem. To all her original fans, she is completely a totally different persona and voice-ona that is completely unrecognizable. To the newer younger fans, her ball gown attire is completely un-relatable and nothing seems new with the vibe from her music. Though, her vocals seem to have improved from the prior non holiday album. Ironically, she should enlist the style management and image consultants she hated that were installed by the record company in the 90's that tightly manages her image branding and vocal maintanance.

Listening right now (44,027) by Joyce from USA
I haven't completed the album yet but so far so good on a few things, 1, looks like they got the memo, the same old drum beat that was on almost every song in the last album had been retired. Fo those that don't know, it's called the "808 Drum Kit" and it's played out. However the drums on the "One more try" are so bad. It sounds so weak and like my little brothers Casio keyboard but the vocals are very moving and well sung. Her voice brings the sentiment intended by the original song composer. I wish I could take the vocal track and design a drum beat deserving of MCC's outstanding performance. The instrumentation is very modern, creative and up-to-date. The song concepts and lyrics are well done. Though, one or two songs, the arrangements for a short moment seemed messy or cluttered. Her babies sound adorable though at times their sound loops entwined throughout the song takes the listener out of the song and one becomes aware of the song composition and structure rather than just being a listener of a MCC song. Dedicated just came on just now. Very nice beat. Ha, that's what's his name's voice from American Idol Randy Jackson. What a cool composition - very smooth, warm and Mariah - beat changed-up a little-bit just now, well done. Wish the hook was a tad bolder - Randy just sang "oh Baby" hah, I met him once in 2002. He drinks that Penta water. Mariah, well done. It's fresh, new, different and yet so "Mariah". Also, good job of getting those vocals back in shape from persistent vocal bed rest. Thirsty just came on. It's very stark. I noticed in almost all songs, there are chorused vocals, using the chorus and flanged VST's and many times these processed vocals consume most of the song. It works best on "Thirsty" The bridge is silky chorus - nice, they giving us chords progressions displaying sophisticated compositions. No wonder this was delayed. At some point she realized her vocal ability needed to be invigorated. The vocal quality in Cry is not as sharp, refined, robust and healthy as in "Make it Look Good". What a breath of fresh air.

Stop assuming things about Mariah and Nick (43,397) by Joyce from USA
What I think is funny, is how others get bent out of shape when you have an opinion or thoughts that they don’t agree with and tell you to stop it. Really, it’s that strange sense of entitlement and authoritative tone that seems over the top.

Black panty dress illusion (43,377) by Joyce from USA
Update, I'm embarrassed to realize, it’s not a see through dress revealing her black panties beneath but rather, an optical illusion created by the white pin stripes strategically stopping in the shape and location of, panties. But as far as class goes, its only 1.5 points above wearing a see through dress in public.

Mariah and Nick: headed for divorce? (43,368) by Joyce from USA
Junk news I'm sure but if there be any reason I imagine, Mariah never really loved Nick as much as she thought. Her world was rather lonely and cold since the L. Miguel split. She wanted to be engaged to a life that was full and new and someone who was charming, good looking and also in entertainment had all the ingredients to sweep her off her tired feet at the moment. Nick married "Mariah Carey" the persona, the sex image, the woman of 20 years of success. The actual person is a whole other story.
He is married to a performer who still adamantly desires to super sexually appeal to men around the world. And her sex appeal is at times across the line for most husbands. It’s one thing to simply be sexy but to ooze it publically and strategically incorporate it to every aspect of public persona is tiring to a spouse.

Well done, Mariah (43,165) by Joyce from USA
The album cover is beautify, very heavenly. There is something magical about the sky in its twilight sun set moments. The sky is many colors and the sun golden shortly before the stars emerge. This is an excellent cover. He hair and makeup look very natural and real giving her a youthful appearance, ten years younger than her true age. This is the visual to her brand, the packaging to her product and it looks fresh, new timeless and classy. I absolutely love the title. Because she is Mariah. A legend. And I hope this is a well-crafted album but above all, I hope her voice makes a strong presence evoking the power and astounding talent that skyrocketed her to number one 5 times on her very first album 14 years ago. Well done Mariah. Well done.

No, no, no (43,046) by Joyce from USA
The more I look at that new pic in her panties and bra, with the her arms and coat strategically placed to give the appearance of a thinner body frame, is just so silly as is the side head turn to get her "best side" for the camera. The whole photo just does not look natural. Fail. Tyra Banks would tear this photo apart in ANTM.

What? (43,045) by Joyce from USA
So, the new photo-shoot in black lingerie, "Laun'jarea" as I wish it was spelled, is Mrs. M serving up the same old sex themed look. It's not trashy but it's just not classy. What is the voice of reason in her mind that approves this look? Who cares really? She looks hot now but it is a look for her that is getting worn out as she don't know what else to do. Is this foreshadowing of what's to come, grandma MC in 2024 with big old toopy dritties hanging out on stage?

Vocal rest (42,714) by Joyce from USA
I just hope she doesn't sound like she just woke up as in the last song released. I think all that vocal bed rest took a toll. It's like a marathon runner on couch rest. It's true we are more flexible in our youth but as we age, to stay in shape, muscles require exercise, warm-ups and practice to remain in the sport and signing definitely is a sport in which Mariah at one time, was the best of the best. She went from broke at nineteen sweeping floors to mega-millions in just a few years. I wish she could go to vocal physical therapy re-hab re-training. I love to hear her at her best again.

Hey Mariah (41,983) by Joyce from USA
It's that voice everyone wants to hear. Not the recent distressed textured or the Faith Evens 1997 inspired faint wispy tones. If you believe that voice is gone then so will it be. But, if you believe you can bring it back, then you will try to regain the power in your voice. You are a young woman, you are gifted and a legend. You came to be a legend solely for that voice. 5 number 1 hits on your very first album and for every year thereafter because of that awe inspiring voice. After you have tried all other gimmicks, all other collaborations and should they fail, it will be that nurtured back to strength voice that will banish all insecurity to you will rise again. However, maybe this time in your life is all about dem babies. Maybe it's time to let this career take a back seat as you spend every moment with these little angels of yours. Maybe your voice on a cosmic all is as it should be with your voice and it's now time to enjoy that rare fairytale ending. You deserve love and happiness and dem babies deserve the beautiful mommy they have.

(41,973) by Joyce from USA
Mark my words, no matter who Mariah works with, what’s she is wearing or whatever else she is doing, when that "voice" gets out of 10 year bed rest, reinvigorates itself with the strength that some with training and workouts, she will be on top again. That confident Mariah will sing live again and she will gain momentum again. Until then, her stock price in marketability and relevance will continue to fall.

That voice (41,878) by Joyce from USA
The song would be great if she did not sound like she just woke up. Imagine Mariah in 2005 vocally tuned singing this new song. It would be number 5. The voice is falling apart by too much 10 year bed rest. I would have thought she would have been afraid to get up on that piano and rootching around, flailing her legs about out of fear she'd become disoriented and fall off again. I think what Mariah is suffering from is "Herd Separation Effect", (aka Micheal Jackson Effect) where severe isolation from the rest of the herd over long periods of time, certain social skills become atrophied and the person becomes disconnected and out of touch because of the far removed separation. In this case, constant praise, fame, financial abundance and glory of extreme success contribute to the carreer disconnect. I hoped that Nick would help bring her back to earth and in the beginning he did but she seems to be floating back up to the clouds again with the Marilyn persona and partying "splashes" every day.

Image (41,852) by Joyce from USA
I'm not sure but after Luis Miguel, her persona changed. In 99 when she was with him, is when she really started taking off her clothes. Yes, since "Honey" the cloths started shrinking but by far after Luis, there seems to be intended design into extreme sex appeal and the acceleration in side boob frequencies and also consequently, a recent nip slip exposure at the 20th anniversary concert for hip-hop label So So Def in Atlanta last year. Until her marriage, I feel like she had been trying to holograph an image of "sexy Mariah" or "look what you gave up" targeted specifically to Luis Miguel's desire. Though I must admit, I'm doing the same with my ex in the dress and hair in my avitar as my ex husband loved both I had similar, the day we met in 1980. His kiss was a hammer and I a bell. All these years later, I'm still ringing (don't steal that - it's copy written lol).

Enough 10 year vocal bed rest (41,845) by Joyce from USA
What a mess. She is so out of context of a pop singer these days. Seems like she is trying to broadcast elements of Marylin Monroe and push the envelope of how much of her body she can expose, she seems to be loosing touch with her music. Maybe that’s why we keep getting We Belong Together re-hashed over and over again in every new song, because there is no creative juice or drive in the honey pot. And lets please talk about “vocal rest”. How much rest do you need? If you were put on bed rest for the last 10 years, wouldn’t you be pretty weak? I surmise it's vocal pysical therapy or workouts starting from mild re-training to vigorus over a period of time. Does this make sense to anyone else?

Good song (41,741) by Joyce from USA
I like the song and love the very modern elements in the synthisizers and dreamy electric piano. It's very up to date and fresh. I think even timeless. If they can make all of the songs drum beat like the chorus parts and take out the "We belong together" drum beat in the verse, it would have more integrity. That drum beat is very 2006. Instead of invoking recognition of her most recent mega hit of 2006 with traces of elements used already in "We belong together" like drub beat and the singing, holding out the last note of the song in the say key, she should distance herself, her music from such errors. We also have been getting the "2007 Emancipation of Mimi on intimate Tour" image across the board.

"A hair cut would scream confident" (41,729) by Joyce from USA
I really agree totally and it seems 6 out of 8 agree too. I'm no longer responding to the mean spirited commenters. Not going to add fuel to their fire. There is no need to speak to anyone that way, if you would not do so in person. I'm just going to quietly reiterate to myself, that not everyone here is my age and has the same degree of sensibility and compassion when corresponding with others. Though if I saw my daughter leave comments like that, I’d immediately change the wifi password for the next week and have her explain to me why she decided it was ok to be so mean to someone she does not know. And as for my final thoughts on Mariah. The magic is in that voice. If she can re-build it, they will come. No matter what she is or is not wearing, to mater if she is thick or thin, bring back that voice to full capacity and success will also comeback. Well wishes Mariah. If you are reading this, we all at times bicker over what we imagine will get you where you want to be, but what ever you do we will always support you.

Couger hair (41,608) by Joyce from USA
Oh geez, I said her hair was lovely, it is pretty and it really is. But it makes her look older than she is and it's one of those "every other celeb over 45 or 50" is doing at the moment. She is really 30 when it comes to physical appearences. That hair ages her too much. It's total cougar hair. Older celebs tend to wear it, with more makeup, and tighter cloths. They have long cougar hair to gain a youthful appearance. And I'm not going to be made to feel guilty over my opinion. You don't agree, I get it. I respect it. The summation I gather from nearly all of the comments as that "we want to see something new". Everyone is saying to change it up for once, that things have been too similar to the recent past and I couldn't agree more. Some specify it's the song style that needs to change, others appearances but everyone agrees, a change and new direction is in order. Or simply put, she looks nice but aged by the cougar hair and gowns, out of touch and not down to earth as she had once been since before TEOM. That's all.

Lamb oh couger hair (41,597) by Joyce from USA
Relax, lol. I'm just saying her hair style as of late ages her far beyond her years. She still looks 30 and not 43 but that hair needs a software update. In the video for Beautiful, she looks ah-may-zing. Her hair, very natural. But put that gown on, gloves and aged hair do and gain unnecessarily years. See that dress I'm wearing? Big no-no.
