About Alex from United States : I've been a fan of Mariah since I can remeber first hearing music.

Re: Just curious (77,856) (77,887) by Alex from United States
I don't think Mariah would [buy] followers for any social media platforms. That's why her count is relatively low on IG. I do however suspect JLo and many others of buying followers. There was a time when JLo and Mimi had a similar amount but overnight JLo gained a huge amount. I was following both of them and it was very noticeable. Btw you can also purchase "likes" too. However, I do think if Mariah was more personal and engaged with IG she would see more of a following. I believe M doesn't engage because at the end of the day it doesn't really translate to sales and hit record.

Re: Mariah - gay icon (76,205) (76,209) by Alex from United States
Mariah supported gay marriage before it was popular. I remember her doing an interview talking about her guncles. I believe their names were Bert and Ernie or something close to it. She said they were the closest thing to a healthy relationship that she had during her childhood. You also have to remember this was a time when it was cool to use homophobic lyrics in music. i.e. Eminem. I've also seen Mariah celebrate a gay couple on her stage as the one guy proposed to his boyfriend. I also want to mention that I love the fact that Mimi does her best to stay out of politics and I feel like a lot of celebrities exploit the gay fan bases. Mariah is authentic without over doing it and I'm excited to see her pride collection in 5 days.

Fickle lambs (76,003) by Alex from United States
I think some of you should create an Ariana fan site and just migrate over there. [censored] If I were Mariah I would've stopped trying to please fickle lambs a long time ago. Don't get me wrong there have been many times in Mimi's 27 year career that I had to shake it off. I've also learned that what may seem cringe worthy now can be an iconic diva moment in the future. I could care less what the general public thinks of Mariah. My love and respect for her are not based on popularity. Some of y'all need to put some respect on her name. [Webmaster: I had to censor the part about Ariana because it was disgusting.]

Re: Cut Mimi some slack (73,013) (73,014) by Alex from United States
No, not at all. I think Mishka is just being goofy, cheeky whatever you wanna call it. They're on a trip of a lifetime time and living in the moment. Yes, I'm sure she is exposed to more than the average adolescent but that isn't necessarily a bad thing. Side note: I used to make my dad his gin and tonic when I was younger. He only had one as a night cap and it made me feel good to do it.

Cut Mimi some slack (73,011) by Alex from United States
I don't understand what the big deal is over Stella's IG pic. Seriously, a lot of people on this board are super critical and uptight. Mimi is only having a splash of what looks like a Baileys Irish Cream on what was a 16 hour flight. Miska is just being a kid and playing for the camera. Trust me, Mariah has given me cringe worthy moments throughout her career. I'm also inbetween on Stella. I don't know all that goes on behind the scenes and I also believe MC is aware of her perception to lambs and the gp. I think she said it best when she asked the recent interviewer "Why do I have to make 5 million comebacks?" The gp and the lambs are so fickle and so easy to overlook all that Mariah has accomplished and created. If she "bowed out gracefully" she'd be forgotten except for the occasional "throwback moment". Let's not kid ourselves, all the greats disappear over time. 50 years from now she'll be remembered as the over the top sexy diva with an incredible voice and genius song writing skills.

New song (66,493) by Alex from United States
Hey lambs, I'm hoping someone can shed some light for me. When does Billboard start counting the sales for the next weeks charts? Could that be the reason the Empire song is being released on Friday, September 30? I want to download it as soon as possible. I just hope it will count towards the numbers the night of the show. If anyone has some knowledge they'd like to share I would appreciate it.

Haters gonna hate (63,866) by Alex from United States
I for one think Mariah is a pioneer and not just in the musical spectrum. She is 46 and living her life to the fullest knowing she is going to be criticized the whole way. What's wrong with being sexy and pushing the envolope? Mimi is paving the way for all the young starlets that are talented enough to last the next 20 years. Personally, I think age is just a number and as long as the individual feels youthful and sexy that's all that matters. MC looks better than a lot of 20 year olds and so what if she wants to flaunt it and be over the top? Mariah's work ethic is undeniable. So if she chooses to play it up and get tipsy, good for her.

My little tangent (63,508) by Alex from United States
I have to say nothing brings lambs together like a diss towards our Mimi. I too was all over Demi's social media attacking her with a brigade of lamb emojis. That being said as a proud lamb defending my queen M, I couldn't help but think of Mariah's lack of support through USA's worst mass murder since 9/11. Now I know Mariah dedicated a song to the victims and I'm also acknowledge that social media is not everything but as a loyal fan to the death I can't help but wish for something more from MC. When I heard billionaire Mark Cuban donated a million dollars to the Dallas police department to help better protect the LGBT community it brought tears to my eyes. I'm not asking Mariah to donate a million dollars as I am sure she is constantly being hit up for money. However, Mariah's creativity is unparalleled and I would have loved to seen more in response to the attack. M has been a long time advocate even back in day when Eminem's homophobic lyrics ruled the charts. I'll end my little tangent saying I'm fully aware that I am not in Mariah's inner circle and will never know all that went down after last weekend's tragedy. I guess I have always looked towards Mariah for comfort during times of heart ache and this is no exception.

Superstar (58,705) by Alex from United States
So Instagram is buzzing about Mimi's rumored new single Superstar. Could this really be true and could this new single also be produced by Calvin Harris? Just the idea gets me so excited. I'm thinking she will switch out Infinity and promote this new song at her residency and European tour. I'd imagine if M put out a hit single she has an album ready to go and ride the momentum. Also the idea that Mariah would add Superstar to her promo picture is no coincidence. Our girl is so sly like that. Another reason I love her.

The legit year our queen born (58,660) by Alex from United States
I have no doubt Mariah was born in 1970. Not that it matters either way but what's the point of changing your birthday only by one year? I mean if you're gonna lie about it give yourself a couple more years. I more curious how much Mariah spends on Christmas than her being 45 or 46.

Billy, I couldn't have said it better myself. You hit the nail right on the head in my opinion.

Mariah's injury (57,067) by Alex from United States
After looking at the picture of Mariah's date night with Packer, it appears as though her right hand is still injured. I know it's a random shot, but the way M is holding her right arm up and her fingers looks to me that there is still nerve damage. I feel like Mariah is underplaying how bad her injury is and that makes me feel really bad. Poor Mimi.

Boobs (54,592) by Alex from United States
I love Mariah's cleavage. And I love when Mariah shows those two big ole tiggle bitties off. Just saying.

Yes please (54,505) by Alex from United States
I'm never going to suggest no new music from Mariah. Each time something new comes out I still get the same rush. I think it's a great idea because it will show that MC is serious about her career and has any undeniable work ethic. Back to back albums, the Christmas shows, and the February residency, Mariah is not going anywhere. Mimi is still elusive enough that she's not selfie whoring about everywhere. I would love for a couple singles to come out with all promotion in place. Couple hot tracks to get us through the end of the year and hopefully Mariah using February's residency to promote the new album. Mariah is ageless but it's smart to capitalize on your youth in this ageist society we live in. I would be ecstatic for new songs and remixes. If the general public takes to it than that's great and maybe we can push a number one out. All things are possible darlings.

And we bring them positivity (54,151) by Alex from United States
I think it's time we get more creative on this board. It's a great outlet and I'm grateful we have it. I don't post a lot but I enjoy reading the posts more than the news articles. Anyway I digress. Mariah is a queen and a queen needs her people. We need a worldwide grassroots movement. This message board would be a great tool if we could come up with a way to start a fan club and try to help market our girl. We all have things we love Mimi for and yes in her 25 year career there have been some cringe worthy moments but Mariah has given far more in return. We should rally together and build up a base that is loyal enough to buy downloads, request air play, stream videos, ect. It's a numbers game and even if the song isn't our fave at the time we still commit to its success. It's about the big picture and helping our queen keep her throne. In return we keep MC's art alive and relevant. Even the past two years when you think about Almost Home, #Beautiful, Faded, my fave YM(E) just to name a few. Mariah is the gift that keeps on giving. I thought the BET Honors performance was iconic and the opening to #B at the BET Awards was magical. We all have a critic inside and no one is perfect but our girl is only human and I for one take the good with the bad. If she succeeds then we succeed because there are not a lot of celebrities loyal to their fans like Mariah. I still have a lot of life to live and I can't imagine it without my Mimi in the spotlight.

Infinity / Extra (52,514) by Alex from United States
The song is definitely a grower but that's what I love about Mariah's music. It takes a few times for the genius to sink in and then I'm in love. Mariah's Extra interview was A plus amazing. The bit at the end was classic. My only concern is why the radio push didn't coincide with the iTunes release or even before to build up the momentum. Seems like you'd want to capitalize for a strong first week of sales. I'm so happy Mariah has a great team but if someone could explain the thought process I'm curious.

Book deal (51,335) by Alex from United States
If this isn't true Nick Cannon needs to speak up fast and let the world know because if it is true I'm disgusted. No man, father would ever degrade the mother of his children like this. My stomach still turns when I think of Nick's father's tweet after their separation. Whatever that was didn't feel right then and this doesn't feel right now. I honestly would be shocked if it were true. Say what you want about Nick Cannon this would be a new low. You'd have to be a real slimy pig to be that cruel. I have hope and faith that Mariah has her legal game on lock and she was prepared for this before the marriage.

Nathan Morris (49,834) by Alex from United States
I'm sorry but am I the only one who finds it highly unclassy for Nathan to post his criticism on social media? I wouldn't want my friends addressing me and my issues through social media. I do understand that we all care about Mariah and want her to be the best she can be but there is a fine line if you consider yourself a friend. How about pick up the phone and call her if you're a truly concerned friend. Negativity is negativity no matter how you cut it. Mariah hears us and she doesn't need fake D list celebs using her name to garner attention.

Bring It Home (42,306) by Alex from United States
To those of us who know the geniusness that is "Mariah" we owe it to her to show our support. Not everybody gets to grow up with an artist who you not only connect with but their music is the soundtrack of your life. 20+ years and more relevant than ever. This is our music and we should support the legacy. It took me literally 5 minutes to look up my local radio stations. I put their numbers in my phone and will continue to request You're Mine (Eternal). This is grass roots style but I hope we can inspire each other to bring Mariah's music back to the top of the charts.
