About Kyle from USA: I love MC!

Article: Did Mariah Carey lip-sync at Thanksgiving Day Parade? (58,112) by Kyle from USA
Macy's requires the talent to lip sync. Remember when Tony Bennett forgot the lyrics a few years back? That's why.

Love or business? (55,479) by Kyle from USA
I'm just playing devil's advocate. I'm not saying this is the scenario that is happening with Mariah and James but throwing it out there as anything is possible. He is a very rich man who is in the casino business. Maybe Mariah is keeping him near to secure her future of performing. He will have resources that she can cross market new material with performances, etc. Before the casino industry, he was massively wealthy at a media company. I think there is some business dealings that Mariah sees as an opportunity for her to stay relevant down the road.

Interesting (55,354) by Kyle from USA
I was surprised to see Katy Perry at the MC concert. I guess whatever "shade" was thrown has been reconciled. Glad to see they can put it behind them whatever the issue may have been. I'm thrilled all these singers are going to support MC. It's a testament to her legacy. SC, the "Someday" version incorporated TLC's "Ain't To Proud To Beg".

Silence the haters (55,215) by Kyle from USA
I just saw Miss Carey last night in Vegas. She was 100% on top of her game. Voice great shape, looked great, confident, crowd was wild. See her before you speak.

All I'm gonna say (55,129) by Kyle from USA
About Wendy, Jennifer Lopez and any other entertainment personality is the reason they throw shade is pure jealousy. Everyone with a career in entertainment strives to be known across the world, strives for the success and strives for the half of billion dollars Mariah Carey as accumulated. Mariah's career is what these women wished for, daydreamed and prayed about when they were younger and still to this day. Mariah Carey is the poster child of success, rich, famous. Though these women have success, money and mild fame, they will never be the level of Mariah Carey, and that probably pisses them off. But as my father used to say, "It doesn't matter what people say about you as long as they are talking about you, you are relevant."

Disconnect (54,643) by Kyle from USA
I live in Orlando, FL. It was announced this morning that Janet Jackson is bringing her "Unbreakable" tour here in September to the Orlando Magic arena. It go me thinking: Cher was here earlier in the year and Janet is coming. Both of these artists announce a tour and they seel out arenas instantly. Mariah announces an arena tour, and it's slow ticket sales. Is it because Mariah has remained relevant and in the spot light always releasing material or is there a disconnect somewhere? Cher and Janet have even "older" fans since they have been around a lot longer than MC. Why are "older" fans more supportive than younger fans?

Genius (54,588) by Kyle from USA
This "Game of War" announcement is genius. Once again, Mariah Carey knocks us out of left field with something no one would have ever expected. This will connect her to a whole new audience and get her music in people's face. Mariah is a determined person which is why I respect her so much. She refuses to "drop off the radar". I say kudos.

Bye bye regulars (52,760) by Kyle from USA
Is it just me or are you guys glad the "regulars" are all taking a break? Thank God.

Opinions are like *** everyone's got one (52,555) by Kyle from USA
No wonder Mariah drinks. If she read all this rubberish on this board about what all the expectations her fans have for her and what they want to hear from her, I'm surprise she hasn't been to AA. You guys complain you want to hear something fresh, she gave it to you. You guys say you want to hear a radio friendly jam, she gave it to you. And, now you're still complaining. The woman can't win. If Mariah were to release any of her #1s from the 90s they wouldn't get any radio play or chart at all, the music scene is a different time now. Is anyone on this board the same person today they were in the 90s? I hope not. And, if you are, then you've never evolved, never experienced, never grew. This amazing woman we come here to discuss has been the soundtrack to our lives. Fan or no fan, everyone has at least one Mariah Carey song they can relate to. Take her "older" catalogue for what it is and enoy it. But don't keep Mariah under a tent and expect her to never change the game (again). Support her.

You all are corny like Fritos (52,359) by Kyle from USA
The only reviews I care about are from the industry professionals (Billboard, radio personalities, etc) and they are all loving it. Stop comparing Mariah to her past. As an artist they all evolve. Embrace that she is still around giving us music and support her. She can never win with some of you and it drives me absolutely crazy. If you love her as an artist, support her. Enough said.

The anticipation of MiMi (52,150) by Kyle from USA
I'm excited about the "Infinity" single and video premiere Monday. Currently, with Taylor Swift done dropping singles fo her album and Rhianna was a massive flop, there is nothing good on radio right now. Basically, Mariah could slay for a couple weeks before the next big hit is dropped by someone else. Epic and herself have something massive up their sleeve and this is going to be big.

Stay calm and... (51,974) by Kyle from USA
I don't know why you all don't listen to me? I done told you guys Momma MiMi has some surprises in store for us. That's why Epic and herself have kept this release sealed shut until it's time for "Infinity" to pounce. The few reviews that have been "leaked" have all been superb and say she has returned to form and is going to deliver a punch below the belt song. This is going to be her "surprise" album she wanted, but didn't get with MIAM. She has been dropping hints and we have all seen them: the leaked snippet of one of her demo she posted a few months back on her Twitter, the hashtag Infinity before it was announced, etc. Mariah is pissed that MIAM didn't do well and she is back with a vengance. This is going to be her "STFU" to the world and haters and Def Jam. I've said it before and I'll say it again, a lot of folks are putting all their energy into this lead single. The rest will be gravy. Disc 2 might be for the international release, those releases tend to get additional material in general. Her marketing campaign for this is classic Mariah, she is being hush-hush readying for this single drop and then Vegas starts the next week. I have a feeling April 27th will be more than just "Infinity" dropping, the whole massive entrance to the Las Vegas strip to declare her residency will bring many more surprises. And, I cannot wait.

"From now until... infinity" (51,751) by Kyle from USA
I don't understand all the upset. This was always branded as a reissue plus her additional three number one singles. Besides, overall albums aren't selling and if "Infinity" is a smash, then the single will out sell the album (like every other single that sells more than the full length album). This is a way to get new material out while also promoting her residency. L.A. Reid has a plan for the single "Infinity". He is putting all cards that it will blow up radio. I have a feeling on April 27, when the single "Infinity" drops, along with the video, our girl will be on Clear Channel deal and it will go to #1. What a better way to celebrate a residency about your #1 singles and gain an additional #1 single. If this is as successful as everyone is planning it to be, a new album and single will be out by end of year. This is just the beginning and everyone has stake in Mariah's "comeback" and it seems they are all working diligently to get her promoted properly. And remember, just because the tracklist as been released with only one additional song doesn't mean another surprise or two may be on there when it is actually released. I never thought this release was about the "album", I always got the vibe this new song "Infinity" is a masterpiece that has been kept quiet for sometime and now is the perfect time to unleash it.

Bye bye Berger (51,482) by Kyle from USA
This parting is awesome news. This shows that Epic Records has gotten through Mariah's head and convinced her change is needed if she wants to stage a huge "comeback". I'm sure this was a mutual decision. 15 years is a long time. Mariah is refreshing herself, her career and her image and I say bravo. I saw on Twitter a stage designer for her residency released a hand sketch of part of the stage. There are so many things going on behind the scenes with Las Vegas, Epic Records, new video and single that we have no idea about. Promotion will start picking up very soon and I'm thinking this might be the "secret release" single she was wanting to do with MIAM. The single will drop, she'll bang out a few performances (live) before Las Vegas starts and we will see where it leads from there. Our girl is smart. She is very business savvy and willing to do what it takes to stay relevant. As many of her past and present producers have publicly stated, "Mariah is the hardest working person in the business."

She means business (50,846) by Kyle from USA
This HRC Gala is the perfect opportunity to drop a new single and get immediate feedback. She will slay this performance. She is starting to gear up promotion for the new album and Las Vegas. Now that the divorce and Def Jam are behind her, she is back and ready to silence everyone.

Still not worried (50,296) by Kyle from USA
I just checked Media Base and "Four Five Seconds" is number 10 on the Top 40 chart. It currently has 8,165 spins with 51.66 million audience impressions. To put that in perspective, number 9 is Maroon Five "Sugar" with almost 65 million audience impressions. That's a big gap and new ads for the Rhianna/Kanye song are building slow. Taylor Swift has two songs in the top 5, both with over 80 million audience impressions and Mark Ronson with Bruno Mars is number 1 with over 120 million audience impressions. Mark and Bruno will be number 1 on the Hot 100 for a while, in my opinion, keeping Rhianna and Kanye in the top 5. If, and that's a big if, "Four Five Seconds" gains more ground in the next week, it may peak at number 3. But again, it looks as if the song is already starting its way on the decline.

Ghost (50,180) by Kyle from USA
I'm "obsessed" with Ella Henderson "Ghost". I keep imagining Mariah's vocals for this song, in her full voice. This is the type of song she needs. It's got a great, memorable chorus, the song builds until the very end and it's a relatable subject matter. It's something that Mariah could write and sing. If she wants to be on the radio this is what she'll need to release: a catchy, pop friendly number.

Something is coming soon (50,170) by Kyle from USA
I find it interesting Mimi is staying low. I know she's preparing for the shows. I also see she is not performing the month of June. Maybe an April release of a new single and album, LV in May, more promotion in June and a new number 1 to sing in LV in July. Folks always love to count her out but she has always bounced back higher. I'm dying for someone to ask Katy Perry about Mariah when she has #19. Ha.

Pow (50,055) by Kyle from USA
Rhianna is not a threat. She will not meet or exceed 18 number one singles. Her peak has past and I personally think she is losing ground. I think who we really need to watch is Taylor Swift. She writes her own material and everytime she drops something it shoots to number 1. And, people buy her albums. Mariah has still got some more number 1 material in within her. Epic needs to provide proper promotion. I still say Mariah will beat The Beatles record of 20 number ones.

Las Vegas will be great (49,635) by Kyle from USA
Mariah will have no issues in Las Vegas. It's a much more controlled environment with state of the art sound engineering. I saw Celine three years ago there and I remember thinking how much better she sounded live then what we hear on the radio. The venue will only enhance Mariah's voice. I'm going July 11 and I know it's going to be superb.

Tickets are on sale now lambs (49,209) by Kyle from USA
Just purchased my MiMi tickets. She is only scheduled, as of now, for May and July. Of course, ticket sales and demand may extend the residency. She is already selling good so get your tickets now. I am seeing her July 11. This will be my 4th time seeing her live and I cannot wait.

Vegas (49,090) by Kyle from USA
I saw Celine Dion 2 years ago in Vegas. She did a lot of talking and a lot of ballads. Her show was only 1 hour, 20 minutes. She didn't even do all her hits such as "To Love You More", "Alive", or "I Want You To Need Me". She actually did three or four covers from Adele and Stevie Wonder. We all can agree Celine Dion is amazing and can sing. However, her commercial success isn't as high as Mariah. She scored $100 million contract and sold out every night. Vegas has something, got everyone. You guys act like she's going to stay there forever. This will be a short residency for a de months then bam. MC will be back. Mariah always has something up her sleeve so let's embrace this move, go to Vegas to see her, and be ready when she comes back with a pow single.

Sales in general (47,015) by Kyle from USA
The music business is dying. Barbra Streisand just released an album and it only sold 196K copies. Barbaa Stesisand is huge and has a very loyal following. We have to accept the music album concept is dead. These companies and artists need to invent new avenues for selling singles. People don't want to buy a 15-disc album, they want to pick and choose what they want on their play list. Maybe a "mini-album" will help? Release exclusively to iTunes a set of 5 songs and you have to buy all or nothing. Music companies have a budget for every project. Just like your personal budget, when the funds run out, you're done. If they gave Mariah a $1 million dollar promotional budget (video's, travel, wardrobe, transportaion, etc) then when it ran out IDJ stopped pouring more money into a prject that wasn't going anywhere. I think we all can agree that if the album was released right around #Beautiful it would have done better but the injury pushed it back. Life happens. Let's stop critisizing everything Mariah does, she is never going to make all of us happy. Let's appreciate Mariah and music in general for what it is: insperational, motivating, refreshing and so on. If you think she isn't pissed then you're a fool. We haven't seen the best from her. She'll have another #1. The music world is a completely different game than when she started. She is a trendsetter and if I know MC, she'll do something amazing that will change the game. Again.

Single choices (46,970) by Kyle from USA
Mariah said herself that "Cry" is her favorite single but she knows it's not a radio hit. I disagree. I think "Cry" is excatly what she needs to put out. Every once in a while, a slow heart wrenching ballad works. Who ever is the final decision maker of her single choices the last few albums needs to be terminated immediately. "#Beautiful" was the right lead single for this album, but it should have been followed up with "Thirsty". "Cry" should have been third and then a wind down single of "You Don't Know What To Do". Same thing with MOAIA. You don't drop "Obsessed" and then follow up with "I Want To Know What Love Is". That is a great vocal but definitely should not have been the second single choice. I wonder if Mariah has any say in singles or if it is a constant battle with music industry executives that still think they know what's "hot" for radio?
(Friday 26 September 2014; 16:33)
Thirsty (46,694) by Kyle from USA
I think Thirsty is about Eminem and Nick. Knowing the genius of Mariah Carey, she probably wrote the song about Eminem and then pulled it out from the archives and re wrote the second verse about Nick. "So you stuntin' on your Instagram" is definately about Nick. Instagram wasn't around during the MiMi-Em phase. Mariah has stated that Thirsty was written "a long time ago". I think what we hear on the album is revamped version of the original with Rich Homie Quan and a new verse. She is a brilliant writer so why not kill two birds with one stone.
