If you've ever wondered what the proper etiquette is for Christmas trees and holiday decorations you aren't alone. Some take their Christmas trees down several days after the holiday, while others wait until after New Year day. Rarely you'll find people who keep Christmas trees up throughout January and by Valentine's day realize it's well past the time the tree should come down.
Ryan Seacrest recently asked how long the Christmas tree should stay up and Mariah Carey quickly answered until the Fourth of July. The remarks were made via Twitter and have gone viral. Ryan Seacrest asked for a friend when would be the most appropriate time to take down Christmas decorations, including the tree. The question was asked on Wednesday morning and drew plenty of attention, likes, and retweets.
Some offered answers such as January 6 for the Feast of Epiphany or Three Kings Day. It is on this day that according to tradition the three wise men brought gifts to the Holy Child. Others said they wait as long as a full week past the Feast of Epiphany. While many people were debating and discussing the significance of Three Kings Day, Mariah Carey popped in the tweet thread and weighed in with her opinion. While people liked and responded to Ryan Seacrest's question, it wasn't until Mariah Carey gave her answer that the topic went viral. Known for being a bit of a diva, Mariah answered as only the reigning queen of Christmas billboard charts could. "Dahhling! Not till July 4th!"
Mariah Carey's tweet received more than 15,000 likes, over 4,200 retweets and sparked numerous comments. Many people quickly agreed with Carey's comment, since, after all, she is Mariah Carey. A few people pointed out that the Christmas tree would be up during Valentine's Day, St. Patrick's Day, and Easter.
Mariah Carey and Ryan Seacrest will reunite once again as the singer will return to the 2018 countdown show New Year's Rockin' Eve hosted by Seacrest as a performer. Carey had a mishap at New Year's Rockin' Eve 2017 where her backing track failed on live television and she didn't sing during dead air.
