Leave it to Mimi to turn a fast food run into a festive fashion fantasy. Mariah Carey paid a visit to a McDonald's location in Aspen to check out her new Mariah Menu on Wednesday, and (over)dressed to impress in a plunging red gown covered with sparkling crystals - plus matching heels, of course.
After hitting the drive-through with her 10-year-old twins, Moroccan and Monroe, the "All I Want for Christmas Is You" crooner added a bedazzled face mask and made her way into the restaurant. "First of all, this lighting is killing me," Carey, 52, quipped upon arrival. "I hope I'm not overdressed."
"I don't think you're overdressed. It's Mariah. It's the Mariah Menu!" a patron replied. Indeed, Carey's famous for her fierce commitment to a look; for her new Apple TV+ holiday special, she even donned a heavily beaded, 60-pound Dolce & Gabbana gown that she said "hurt like a mother to wear".
It wasn't long before the team recognized they had a Grammy winner in their midst. "We're just here and the kids wanted to go to McDonald's," Carey said. "I just need a cheeseburger. I don't know who to ask. Is there like a manager, or...?"
No word on whether Mimi got her meal, but she did make time to snap selfies with stunned staffers and spread a little Christmas cheer - in style.
