Mariah Carey steels herself for the inevitable questions about her life with a laugh almost sweet enough to make us play nice. "Can't we talk about what kind of cream I'm rubbing on my legs or something?" Though she tries to draw our attention to her body of, um, work, who can ignore a career with such high highs (15 number ones singles, best-selling female artist ever) and weird lows (her infamous TRL striptease, her struggles with exhaustion)? But Mariah has gotten up, dusted herself off, and come out singing.
