You still don't get it. It's not your opinion that bothers the most of us, but the way and frequency you present your opinion. And no, you're not the only one who thinks Mariah needs some changes. Do your read other people's messages at all? Sometimes I think you only come here to annoy us.

It seems you get your kicks out of hurting Mariah and her fans. You never have anything nice to see about Mariah and her fans. Everytime Mariah makes a mishap, you're the first to tell us in long tedious messages. Of course you're not the only one to do so, but you're the only who brings it up weeks and even months after it happened. Again and again so that no one will ever forget it. The Jamaica concert was two weeks ago and the rest of us have already moved on, but here you are, Mr. Negative, to remind us all why Mariah will never be able to sing live again. If someone tells you they are sick of your negativity, you will bash them. We know you don't like Mariah (we even wonder if you ever did), we know you think she is a has-been, we know you can't see anything positive about her and her fans, we all know you can stand the fans who still believe in her (you were never one of us and you will never be), we all know that so it's no use to tell us that again and again, week after week, month after month, year after year. If someone comes up with reasons (I mean reasons and not excuses) for a mishap, you say we are sugar-coating. Your point of view is the thruth and anyone who disagrees is an idiot. If someone says they don't like your attitude in a gentle way, you get nasty on a personal level. Quite frankly, I'm getting sick of you and I wonder if I should stop posting your messages.

"The people there probably didn't even notice she was lip syncing." Shelly, I guess you didn't have the time yet to read the articles on this website, or else you would have known the public wasn't pleased with her performance. Here are some comments: "She completely lipped Fantasy! I'm a die hard lamb but her mouth did not even move." "She was lipping all night. At one point she had the mic at her mouth the song was playing and the crowd swear she was singing. She didn't do one live song." "Mariah was a disappointment! She couldn't hit a high note to save her life and lipped her way out." "Was the Observer reporter at a different show from me? A large number of persons in the crowd around me were very disappointed. Something about her was not right. She kept fixing her hair every 5 seconds, saying inappropriate things and her 'singing' quality was poor. There were persons shouting, 'We want the real Mariah!'" I'm a huge fan of Mariah, but I can't watch her live performances. I've seen Mariah at the Rainbow and the Charmbracelet tour, but I don't think I will ever want to see her live in concert again. It's always a boring show with the same songs. I guess Mariah lives in a fantasy world, created by the people around her. Mariah still thinks she can show up hours late, don't rehearse, and lip synch an entire show. She could take an example of Barbra Streisand. Barbra is not a dancer at all, but her shows are amazing and people are dying to see her. And best of all, she still sings live.

"From the looks of Mariah's new cover photo I think we might get a #1s album to celebrate her 25th. I don't really want one since she's only had 2 number ones since she released the last #1s." Excuse me, but Mariah had 5 more number ones since that album: Heartbreaker, Thank God I Found You, We Belong Together, Don't Forget About Us and Touch My Body.

Opinions (47,245)
by Webmaster Eric from the Netherlands

|
I'm sorry, but I can't keep quit anymore. The last couple of days several people have stated their opinion and I'm OK with that, the good and the bad. But what bothers me is that fans who will support Mariah through thick and thin are called delusional or even "deluded psychopaths". We know you don't like Mariah's current voice, you've made your point over and over again, there is no need to keep telling us that several times a day. It's time for you to move on. You're only annoying other fans. And if want Mariah to stop singing, maybe it's time for you to stop being a fan. Fortunately Mariah still has fans who will support her, who keep believing in her, who wish the best for her and who hope Mariah will keep singing. After all, that's what fans do. And I am proud to be one of them.

In the Dutch version of 1 vs 100 the last question was: "Who likes to call herself Mimi?" The possible answers were Kylie Minogue, Miley Cyrus and Mariah Carey. No one knew the right answer.

Re Mocking business (46,117)
by Webmaster Eric from the Netherlands
| |
|
|
Once again, I will try to explain what I meant. I'm not mocking Mariah or her success. I fact, I'm proud of what Mariah has accomplished. I love Mariah and almost everything Mariah has ever recorded. I have one of the biggest Mariah collections in the world. And after all, I run this website for 16 years, posting daily updates. But I do mock Mariah's PR team. It gets tired that whenever Mariah announces a new album or tour, they must write that she's the biggest selling female artist in the world, that she has 18 Billboard Number 1 hits, that she has won numerous awards, etc. And they love to exaggerate. I know Mariah is modest (just watch an interview when someone ask her about her success), but her PR team is just the opposite. Remember when they wrote "the key singles such as Faded, Dedicated (featuring Nas), #Beautiful (featuring Miguel), Make It Look Good and Camouflage have featured prominently on numerous music charts"? And now the press release also has mistakes ("This will be Mariah's first reemergence to the stage since her celebrated and extensive 'The Adventures of Mimi' tour in 2006."). Most websites will believe what's written in the press release and if it's full of mistakes and exaggerated, than Mariah will lose her credibility and will be mocked.

The Elusive Chanteuse Show (46,110)
by Webmaster Eric from the Netherlands
| |
|
|
"This will be Mariah's first reemergence to the stage since her celebrated and extensive 'The Adventures of Mimi' tour in 2006." What about the Angels Advocatie Tour in 2010, which visited 20 cities in North America, starting with a spectacular concert at the Madison Square Garden in New York City on New Year's Eve 2010? And her concerts in Egypt, Australia, New York, Atlanta, Gold Coast, Monte Carlo, etc?

Re MimiLamb (46,109)
by Webmaster Eric from the Netherlands

I wasn't mocking Mariah, I was mocking her PR team. When an artist only sells 0.1 million copies of her latest album in the USA (and much less in all other countries, e.g. in the Netherlands Me. I Am Mariah only sold a few hundred copies), I think modesty is in place. But instead they just add another 20 million copies to her total album sales. And they say "albums" and not "records".

220 million albums (46,107)
by Webmaster Eric from the Netherlands
| |
|
|
You can say what you want about Mariah, but she is the only artist who can sell 20 million albums in just 3 months. In May 2014, her official website wrote: "She has sold over 200 million albums and is the recording artist with the most number one singles in America." Her latest press release reads: "Mariah Carey is a true music icon and the best-selling female artist of all time with more than 220 million albums sold to date and 18 Billboard Hot 100 No. 1 singles." Just before the tour starts, I bet they will write: "Mariah Carey has sold more than 250 million albums. Her current album, Me. I Am Mariah... The Elusive Chanteuse, has sold over 5 million copies in the USA alone and has a dozen hits, including Meteorite, Fading, Money and the chart topping single You Don't Know What To Do. Order your tickets soon, because her concerts will sell out in just seconds." I love modesty.

Re: The number 5 (45,997)

I'm sorry, but The Emancipation Of Mimi is not bigger than Daydream (saleswise). Her best selling albums are: 1. Music Box (worldwide 32 million, USA 7.2 million) 2. Daydream (worldwide 23 million, USA 7.6 million) 3. Merry Christmas (worldwide 15 million, USA 5.3 million) 4. Mariah Carey (worldwide 15 million) 5. The Emancipation of Mimi (worldwide 12 million, USA 6.0 million) 6. Emotions (worldwide 8 million, USA 3.6 million) For the other albums, worldwide sales are not always known, so I rank them by USA sales only: 7. Butterfly (USA 3.8 million) 8. #1's (USA 3.8 million) 9. Rainbow (USA 3.0 million) 10. MTV Unplugged (USA 2.7 million) 11. Charmbracelet (USA 1.9 million) 12. E=MC2 (USA 1.3 million) 13. Greatest Hits (USA 1.2 million) 14. Glitter (USA 0.6 million) 15. Memoirs Of An Imperfect Angel (USA 0.5 million) 16. Merry Christmas II You (USA 0.5 million) 17. The Remixes (USA 0.3 million) 18. The Ballads (USA 0.2 million) 19. Me. I Am Mariah... The Elusive Chanteuse (USA 0.1 million) A rough estimation, but according to these figures she sold about 140 million albums worldwide (and not "over 200 million albums to date" as many of her press releases state).

Dutch Mariah Carey Association (45,825)
by Webmaster Eric from the Netherlands
| |
|
|
The forum on the Dutch Mariah Carey Association website has a new topic: "Why you like Mariah less". It's a topic where everyone can bash Mariah. People can write reasons why they don't like Mariah anymore. It's also filled with lies. It's really disgusting. I can't understand why a Mariah forum has such a topic. I know some posters here are (too) critical, but no one is mean towards Mariah. But that topic is filled with only mean posts. E.g. someone described in a lengthy post what Mariah had altered on her body (breasts, eyes, nose, lips etc) and he also presented "proof" of his claims. If you read that post, you would instantly puke. It's a good thing it is in Dutch only and most of you can't read Dutch. What I am trying to say is: please don't lower yourself to the level of those Dutch ex-fans and stay respectful towards Mariah and other fans. It's OK that you're sometimes critical, but please don't criticize everything Mariah does. This is Mariah fansite and (hopefully) we all love Mariah.

Press release (45,700)
by Webmaster Eric from the Netherlands

We all know Mariah's PR team likes to brag about Mariah's accomplishments, but when you read their latest press release, they have gone too far: "This year, Mariah released her fourteenth studio album, Me. I Am Mariah... The Elusive Chanteuse, which has received rave reviews globally from both the media and public. The key singles such as Faded, Dedicated (featuring Nas), #Beautiful (featuring Miguel), Make It Look Good and Camouflage have featured prominently on numerous music charts." I can't remember Faded, Dedicated, Make It Look Good and Camouflage being released as singles, let alone that they've "featured prominently on numerous music charts".

I don't see anything wrong in discussing what's in the news. And clearly you don't read most of the messages, or else you would have noticed that most of us are very supportive of Mariah. And no one ever talked about Mariah being black or not. I don't know how you got that idea. And we are the ones who should promote Mariah's album, while Mariah herself is doing nothing? What do you have in mind? That we go on tv-shows to do interviews, or that we sing some songs from the album live? It seems you only want to anger some fans, so in fact you're just as guilty as you claim other fans are.
