About 123 from USA:

Re: Our minds work differently (81,035) (81,053) by 123 from USA
So it's ok to joke about race because it's a joke right? I knew I'd push that button and get a paragraph. You're a hypocrite blondie. You live a sheltered life. To say gays have it the worst and turn around and make racist jokes shows you like to pick and chose when it's all wrong. Every time you make a racist joke I'll make a gay one. Let's see how long that lasts.

Yeah but say something about the gays and your all over it with your social justice sword.

Re: Where did she go? (80,974) (81,021) by 123 from USA
Mimi L is probably still celebrating that she no longer has to empower her highlighter.

Yes Mara, the bridge is everything. The prettiest whispers on that song. Speaking of wedding songs I loved yours. Endless Love.

Welcome Rueben. You've woken this board back up from the dead. Yes they move fast on UKMix. Each board has its own feel.

I never thought about Endless Love. It's a forgotten gem. That live performance gets me every time. Nice choice.

Nice choices. That last run on Lead The Way has to be the most if not one of the most complex/intricate runs she has ever done. I love So Blessed. It's so underrated. No one ever talks about it. Her whispers are so beautiful on that song and I love the bridge. The old 50s ballad approach makes it timeless. It should be in a movie soundtrack.

Speaking of Breath Again, have you heard the Spanish version. So good.

I love Toni. I still play I Heart U. Should have been a hit but I think she was independent at the time. Hoping she has some great songs on the album as she always releases something I enjoy.

Re: Article: Michelle Obama's Valentine's Day playlist (80,958) (80,960) by 123 from USA
Oddly enough it gets played/dedicated at weddings. I see it dedicated to significant others all the time. Seems like the title and uplifting melody are what people are drawn to. I'm like, is anyone actually listening to the lyrics? This should not be dedicated at a wedding lol. Which brings me to ask, what Mariah song fits the Valentine theme best if you had to pick one (non break up).

I must be the only one but Deadwood and Long as I Live sound like album filler. And that trap style song with Birdman is a fail. I Don't was trap done right. I prefer I Wish from her album with Babyface. She co wrote that one. Or the Sade-esque duet with Babyface, The D Word. Gives you the feels.

Note changes she only did once (80,860) by 123 from USA
I love this collection. I know she has to have a lot more. I'd be great to see more of this instead of lipping to original versions that she struggles with. These note changes are a testament to her musicality.

Re: Songwriters hall of fame snub (80,849) (80,851) by 123 from USA
I just want to point out that all those lawsuits (except for Hero) were based on the melody not the actual lyrics, but I get where you were going with it. Sampling shouldn't have anything to do with songwriting but they neglected to credit the original composers on a a couple of those songs on the Emotions album. The Can't Let Go case was droppped when it was proven that there are tons of songs released before "Right Before My Eyes" that used similar cords. Taylor Dayne and Lionel Richie both had songs with similar chords released prior so they slowly retreated. TGIFU melody does sound like a straight rip off, probably why she does a stripped down version for Vegas which I prefer over the original composition.

Re: Can't Let Go (80,797) (80,803) by 123 from USA
it's my favorite ballad of hers. I remember it pouring out of the radio back in the day. It's the song that really made me fall in love with her music. Such a beautiful song. From the nice angelic sounding opening of the song, to the desperateness of the lyric and vocal and addicting melody. I found this stripped version that I love. She has vocals I had never noticed before, that must have been hidden behind the music.

I love this idea. In Chicago here but a FaceTime to join the U.K. lambs would be cool.

Re: Interesting question (80,593) (80,596) by 123 from USA
I didn't really hear it either but I loved how she started to transition between all her registers in this era version the mainly full voiced vocals of 93.

Re: Interesting question (80,589) (80,590) by 123 from USA
93 Mariah vocals where more pop driven but by the Daydream era, she really started to experiment. This video, the magic hidden behind the Daydream era really speaks to what I mean.

Re: Sustained notes (80,292) (80,309) by 123 from USA
Although I agree that especially this year she struggled vocally and had less shinning moments that stood out, she had some good live mid belts that were very resonant and pleasing. The last held "Be" in Vision of Love during the All The Hits tour sometimes sounded so good that fans were starting to wonder if she was lipping that note. She also did a nice job belting the last "comes" on WCC during her holiday concerts that sounded nice and resonant where she successfully went down the scale while still singing. I would rather her use whatever part of her voice is most dependable when singing live instead of just opting for the pre-record to come on. Most singers do that to compensate for whatever area of their voice is lacking at the moment. I wouldn't call it smoke and mirrors if it's live. Smoke and mirrors to me are the pre-records. Anyway, here is a clip of her WCC last belt during her Christmas concerts this year.

Re: Professional footage of NYE rehearsal (80,274) (80,288) by 123 from USA
Who would just blatantly lie? I find that claim a bit dramatic. Speaking of liars, the notion that she can't sustain a note, well I will just place that under the fairy tales, fables, fiction, and fallacies section and leave this little video right here.

Happy 20th and New Year (80,191) by 123 from USA

Black / ponytail era (80,056) by 123 from USA
I love her wearing all black all the time when she is out and about. The styling is so on point now and I love a good pony. Lol. Mimi L, your pic is on trend with the new era, but you may have to change your tagline regarding empowering your highlighter. What will it be now? Lol. The vindication of Mimi L?

Re: Social media (80,042) (80,055) by 123 from USA
Nobody wanted to deal with her or knew what to do with her career at that time. Hiring friends (Randy/JD) just led to her not listening or making poor choices. If you think about it, she kind of lost herself after the injury, divorce, and then failed project the label ignored since she wasn't going to resign. With no hit album people weren't interested in working with it for her. Glad that era is over.

Re: Social media (80,032) (80,041) by 123 from USA
I remember when poor Anthony was trying to tell them that the ass shot was tasteless and didn't fit with the Mariah brand and Stella and crew gave him crap for it and try to say that some article about Mariahs IG validated the good work her child was doing while the fans were ranging mad. Then Mariah was easily pacified because a 14 year old told her she looked hot so she posted it. Bye Felicia.

I'm surprised that no one else has mentioned this prior. Where is Mimi L or Marissa? She even seems to be tweeting herself again. This new team is a breath of fresh air to me.
