About Stacey from USA: Been a fan since 1993. Favorite albums include Daydream, TEOM, and Music Box. I love a good discussion, but won't stand for hateful comments because we disagree. I am too old to deal with drama and so are you. Keep it real with me and we'll have some fun. Peace.

Re: Kelly Clarkson (98,655) (98,658) by Stacey from USA
Exactly. Plus, a break up song during Christmas doesn't make sense to me. When you think of Christmas love songs, you think of songs that bring folks together. Cheesy Hallmark Christmas movies don't see the end where the couple breaks up. They end with that resolution kiss. Sorry Kelly, Underneath The Tree is a far superior song. Christmas Is Not Cancelled (Just You)? Pass.

You're kidding, right? This is AIWFCIY. The song that defines Christmas. A song that went #1 after 25 years. Next.

Re: Rarities 2 (98,628) (98,630) by Stacey from USA
Do we even know if MC is planning on releasing a part 2?

Re: Did anybody catch the shade? (98,621) (98,627) by Stacey from USA
Mariah got this wrong. Period.

Re: Did anybody catch the shade? (98,617) (98,619) by Stacey from USA
Bless those of us who threw away our rose colored sunglasses a long time ago. Those other kids are Roc and Roe's half siblings whether MC wants to acknowledge it or not. That's a fact. Mariah got this wrong. Period.

Re: Isn't it ironic (98,401) (98,405) by Stacey from USA
I remember watching Barbara Walters interview Mariah I believe for the Academy Awards. It was after the success of TEOM. Mariah said something to the effect of "if someone thinks they can manipulate me again, they are dead wrong". Looks like Mariah was dead wrong. I think MC gravitates toward those who she thinks will take care of her but end up taking over her life. Tommy. Stella. Next? Hopefully after Stella she's learned her lesson. One can only hope. Isn't it ironic?

Re: Someones Ugly Daughter's voice (98,373) (98,378) by Stacey from USA
Exactly. I've always thought her voice changed in-between Daydream and Butterfly because she was no longer under Tommy's controlling hand. He controlled every aspect of her world, including the most important part, her voice. He made sure MC took care of her voice. Take away that control, free to choose, things can change. Don't misunderstand me. I am in no way defending Tommy's cruel treatment of Mariah. but when you're controlled so far one way, then freedom comes, sometimes you can swing so far the other way which also can be damaging. Regardless of this or that, I will always be grateful for the music.

Re: Somewhat Loved (98,310) (98,313) by Stacey from USA
I thought AIWFCIY hit the top spot 25 years later. Were you asleep during math class? Somewhat wrong.

I love your enthusiasm and positive thinking. I like the song. Enjoy listening to it in the car. A #1 song? Not a chance.

"Flicks the little pesky fly off my shoulder." That pretty much sums up my feelings about your post. Carey on.

Re: Somewhat Loved (98,282) (98,287) by Stacey from USA
Another one bites the dust. I'll admit, Somewhat Loved is no WBT or ABMB, timeless classics. But please don't lump the song in the same group as Crapfinity. Somewhat Loved ain't that bad. Crapfinity lives in its own rotten world.

Back to Somewhat Loved (98,277) by Stacey from USA
I have been listening to this song especially in the car and I gotta say I like it a lot. Sure is it in the same league as ABMB, Fantasy, VOL, Hero? Maybe even Migrate? Just kidding on that last song. Of course not. But it's got catchy lyrics, sweet vocals, and that chorus beat gets me to tapping the steering wheel everytime. Go listen to it again, stop blabbing secrets, and leave poor Nick alone.

Re: RibbonB (98,270) (98,275) by Stacey from USA
Sorry, Bill started it. Edward blabbed my secret. I am an innocent victim here, lol.

I think Migrate should have been a single.

Re: Nick, why oh why? (98,225) (98,240) by Stacey from USA
No kidding. I read that the other day and my jaw dropped. Kids need a father in the home. They just do. No matter how famous or not your other parent is.

Re: Worst song ever made? (98,186) (98,188) by Stacey from USA
Please, I don't think it's that bad. Somewhat Loved is not her worst song. How quickly we forget Crapfinity.

Re: Undeniable MC (98,163) (98,178) by Stacey from USA
I think it's great MC has an "undeniable sound". It's exactly why she's managed to enjoy a decades long career. You put on an MC record and there is no doubt it's a Mariah Carey record. How many times on shows like American Idol or The Voice, X-Factor, AGT, etc do we hear contestants get praised for that special sound, something extra that separates them from the crowd? You put on a Beatles record, Madonna, Celine Dion, Michael Jackson and ask yourself what ties them all together? Their undeniable sound.

Re: ABMB (98,161) (98,162) by Stacey from USA
Definitely a classic from the best album ever, lol.

Re: Spoiler alert (98,129) (98,132) by Stacey from USA
As I kept having the breaking my heart line running through my head, I couldn't help but feel a bit of Crybaby pop up. Jam and Lewis worked on that song. Both have a similar vibe.

Re: Somewhat Loved (98,128) (98,130) by Stacey from USA
Yeah I couldn't wait either, lol. Thanks for the link. Definitely has potential. I kept thinking this is the type of song that sounds great on the radio. No big vocal moment but TOEM proved you don't need one. She sang then and now in her middle range and it works well. With the right arrangement dare I say she could even sing this live. Plus, I'm glad she ditched the guest rapper. Just MC and a sick beat equals a great song. Maybe a remix will see one? Who knows. I do hope it gets the promotion it deserves.
