Hahaha yes Mara I can picture the hip sway you're talking about. And the hands swaying left right. With her up do hair style and usually a short little tiny dress yet somehow she only remembers the turtlenecks. That song is amazing isn't it. A little more intense and rhythmic than the debut ballads or like Hero. Sometimes I think the fact it didn't hit #1 has prevented it from getting overexposed and helped keep it a little more special. I love the video too. Very classy. Ok time to watch it, gotta love YouTube.

You both made some great points. I also hear her articulating better during interviews and once again speaking more eloquently. This also makes a difference in how someone looks. This is how I remember Mariah, speaking well. I can say from experience I've noticed a difference in my speaking as I've grown less interested in my work and look forward to doing something different soon to bring it back to good like Mariah has again.

Always Be My Baby 100 million views (80,238)
by enwar00 from usa
| |

ABMB just hit 100 million Vevo views, becoming the second video from Daydream to do so. IMO this has become her most played song on the radio as time has gone by, at least where I live, and it seems to be a favorite in general. I think it has to do with the simple, carefree, feel good nature of it. One can also argue this was Mariah at the height of her popularity. I personally love the Mr. Dupri mix over the original, which may be my favorite Mariah remix of all time. I love the David Morales Always Club Mix as well, which I had to buy on 12" vinyl because they didn't release it otherwise in the U.S. I didn't even own a record player so I had to use someone's to dub it. I'm grateful almost 20 years later someone from MCA gave me an import CD with the dance mixes. The video is simple and cute and Mariah herself directed it. Again I prefer the video for the Mr. Dupri mix, which is where the cover artwork came from. And who could forget the legendary B-side Slipping Away. I'm sure it's the nostalgia, but that era seems hip and unique and classy and innocent and magical. Love listening to these songs and mixes right now as I type this and reminisce.

Triumphant (80,145)
by enwar00 from usa

She can perform the Triumphant pulse remix. Or at least the intro and verse and chorus. That's upbeat and festive for NYE right, and still keeps with the uplifting Hero theme. It can happen right? Lol. I do love that remix. One of my favorite remixes.

Re: Setlist (80,117) (80,127)

I understand what you're saying, but who cares? The question was what songs would we want to hear her sing. I don't really think Mariah is checking this board to figure out her setlist. So I still vote for Meteorite. I like the Thirsty idea as well. Heartbreaker isn't my favorite at all but would work well. There is no rule that says artists have to sing specific songs on tv. Another reason she sings the same songs is because she doesn't take chances. Barely even does at her concerts. Some artists do.

I vote for Meteorite. I heard it today and thought it could be festive and a good fit for New Years. And they can have fireworks go off in the sky while she's performing.

Legendary AIWFCIY finally recognized top 10 in USA (79,956)
by enwar00 from usa
| |
|
|
It ends up at #9 this week on Billboard Hot 100. Personally I think it would have been another #1 in 2005 if Billboard allowed older songs to chart then as they do now, but nonethless cheers toast bravo to Mariah (and Walter A. really) for this recognition and milestone for this song. Moreso for doing so with a song that was created 23 years ago and yet proves to uplift and touch millions of people's hearts all these years later during the holidays and Christmastime. Happy day for the lambily.

AIWFCIY EP (79,907)
by enwar00 from usa
| |
|
|
YouTube now has an AIWFCIY EP listed with a cute cover and it plays the original video, the audio of Joy to the World, and the Jermaine Dupri remix animated video (which I'm obsessed with). If there's possibly anyone that hasn't seen or heard that remix and video I would recommend checking it out. I feel like that remix layed dormant for so many years probably because of when it came out and is finally being resurrected again. Makes me happy because I have the Greatest Hits CD and of course that's the track that's so scratched up it skips.

That's so funny that you checked that, because I realized earlier that since I posted about its views on Monday it's been viewed almost 10 million more times. It truly keeps getting more popular as the years go by.

Re: All I Want For Christmas Is You #11 (79,795) (79,798)

So annoying though. That's the second time it stopped one number short. I was so certain it would hit top 10 last year and it didn't so I don't want to think it's a sure thing, but I can't help but think it's really finally going to happen. On YouTube the video hit 300 million the same day My All hit 100, and since then it's up 49 more million while My All is only up 2. So streaming seems to be really strong and that's just YouTube not even all the audio platforms out there. It's already Top 10 on the streaming charts. This has to happen next week. It will generate so much news that can help it go up even higher.

I thought the exact same thing when I watched it. Seems like an odd choice. Especially since the characters in the video even seem to be inspired by the movie that was based on the book that was inspired by the song. That movie and little Mariah in it are so cute.

Will the real MC please stand up (79,723)
by enwar00 from usa
| |

It seems drastically sudden how Mariah went back to her old self, and as others have described, seems happy, relaxed, healthier, more coherent, friendlier, looking better and in better voice. As if the spell really has been broken. It's nice to witness and feel more positivity once again, on this board and outside of it. And all this as we approach the holiday season. AIWFCIY may truly hit the top 10. I guess this makes up for the Christmas show I was going to being cancelled.

I actually do love her more than I did before, but that wasn't hard considering I don't know much about her. I watched that 10 minute link someone else had posted and thought wow Patti has a cool personality. A few things were confirmed in that clip. Very awesome that she is a genuine friend slash godmother to MC.

One Sweet Day 100 million views (79,481)
by enwar00 from usa
| |
|
|
One Sweet Day just hit 100 million Vevo views. It's the first video from Daydream to hit this mark. On one hand I'm surprised because IMO I have rarely heard it on the radio over the years. But, it is the longest running Billboard Hot 100 #1, and I think it maybe picked up popularity and views this year being mentioned alongside Despacito for months. Not to mention Boyz II Men fans watching it. Of course I loved it 20+ years ago, it's a sweet song and I can definitely respect it lyrically. With that said, it's easily my least favorite of her 18 #1s. Am I the only one? It is what it is. Here's a list of her now ten 100 million plus videos. Same order for months, except Without You now has more views than Touch My Body. 1. All I Want For Christmas Is You 309 million 2. We Belong Together 263 3. Hero 171 4. Without You 165 5. Touch My Body 158 6. AIWFCIY with Bieber 142 7. When You Believe 126 8. Angels Cry 103 9. My All 101 10. One Sweet Day 100

I went to the Chicago show last night with some friends and my sister and we all loved it and wished MC was doing a full show. Nothing against Lionel at all because we stayed through his set and he's great in his own right, but simply because Mariah left us wanting more. Honestly she sounded better than I expected, and as other have mentioned on this board, YouTube concert videos don't do her complete justice. The live experience is something else and you can connect and it plays on your senses. Did I expect to drop a tear during Hero as a grown ass man, no, but it moved me and it happened. At least I kept it together during We Belong Together, a song I can feel and relate to every single word and in hindsight I get why it was the song of the decade. I was hoping for the Love Hangover medley but Da Brat showed up to do her rap on the Heartbreaker remix so that was a cute moment, especially as she took a tumble while walking behind the background singers which made it more memorable. I suppose Mariah could try and go for more and really loosen up and perhaps she'll work her way to that point again. Hopefully. All in all despite some lipped parts and despite her barely moving I'm still glad I went and can't wait for the next tour.

Oh yes, I love Memoirs as well. Very cohesive album and in my opinion it was somewhat of a different sound for her. Sometimes you just randomly want to hear Candy Bling and there's no alternative.

Angels Cry 100 million views (78,007)
by enwar00 from usa
| |
|
|
Angels Cry just hit 100 million Vevo views. Seems somewhat random being the first video from Memoirs to hit that mark but it makes sense based on when it came out. I think it's a stand out track off that album but I definitely prefer her solo version which is attached to a specific sad memory for me but overall it's a nice video and I actually remember watching it on Vevo when it came out. It's interesting seeing which of her videos have the most views and are proving more popular online. Let's do a list, just for the nostalgia. 1. All I Want For Christmas Is You 293 million 2. We Belong Together 248 3. Hero 159 4. Touch My Body 152 5. Without You 151 6. AIWFCIY with Bieber 137 7. When You Believe 108 8. Angels Cry 100
