About Robert-Anthony from United States:
I have been a Lamb since 1990. I know Mariah. I love her music. I breathe her music.

Are we surprised that she is using backing and pre-recorded tracks? However, she looks happy and beautiful and that is what counts. As for her being stiff, MC hasn't moved the same since her accident during the MIAM era. Maybe she will get back in the studio during May through July and create some TEOM magic.

I can't decide whether Mariah is actually singing some parts or the vocals are all pre recorded. In Without You, I think she sings to a back track first, but sings live some parts of the chorus, it's hard to tell, she has gotten much better at lip synching. She is still very stiff, but she moves a bit more freely than in the last few months. The stage was really nice though.

No new music until 2030 (106,140)

You may be right, but I hope not until 2030. If she would just say new music is on the way when I work through some things on the business side, then it would ease our minds.

I think we will never see any new music until 2030. All will just be anniversary releases. I mean it's technically fine but I don't think there is something wrong for craving a new album since it has been 6 years since the last proper album.
With the residency extending, cements that after it it will be Christmas shingalingngalingadingdongding again. I never felt so dry as a lamb.

It would be cool if MC performed TEOM from the beginning to the end and then a few extra hits and fan favorites. That is what I would do. Also, it would be cool MC was a special guest on Missy Elliot/Busta Rhymes/Ciara tour on a select dates. Timbaland will be joining them on some dates.

This week we will celebrate the best album rollout of MC's career 19 years ago. I have so many memories of TEOM leading up to the release day. It will always be MC's most celebrated album release that makes other album releases today seem small in comparison. How many streaming records would TEOM have broken that first week? Will MC ever release another album like TEOM again?

"The One" would have been a better choice. And it was the original choice. The video for Boy was for "The One" but I think the label made her change it because I remember a video where someone asks her about The One and she says something like you should ask the label I want it to be a single. I also love the remix of The One.

I believe we were really close to getting a MC Tory Lanez collaboration because of who he had collaborated with from JoJo to Kehlani to Chris Brown. A MC and Tory Lanez collaboration would have been a stone cold hit. Sadly, he assaulted Megan Thee Stallion right at the height of his collaborations with everybody topping the Urban charts.

Both Diddy and R Kelly are creative [musical geniuses] at what they did and how they affected the music industry and changed its landscape forever, [fact]. That said it doesn't excuse the allegations if true. However, artists like Mariah and a bevy more of others they worked with shouldn't be dragged into the mess - that's business and I highly doubt they were aware of these [men's] "extracurricular activities" so to speak in their personal lives. Like the saying goes "[you] don't mix [business] with [pleasure]". History also has proven that [geniuses] tend to fight demons in private and have a dark version of themselves always hidden behind the scenes, a [ying-yang]', Jerkyl [sic] and Hyde scenario.

Bryson Tiller's new album (106,111)
by Robert-Anthony from United States

Bryson Tiller's 4th album was released today. I can only assume that the duet he wanted to do with Mariah was replaced with Persuasion with Victoria Monet. I guess MC couldn't make time in the studio to collaborate. His new album is fire though. There goes another missed high profile duet.

I don't think it will all. MC continues to make millions from the Fantasy remix, Honey and Breakdown each year. Sadly, Diddy has already spent his millions from royalties and producer payments from these three songs. He is in a lot of trouble and will be another music mogul who will lose everything.

Ok so everyone is innocent until proven guilty. I'm asking this question not for your opinion about if Diddy is guilty or innocent, but I'm curious if the allegations about illegal activity turns out to be true (particularly the traffic allegation), how do you think that would affect some of Mariah's music?
I know some people won't even listen to BGK from Memoirs because of RK, but songs like Honey and the remix has Diddy all over it, and those are big popular songs in her discography. I ask this question out of curiosity, no answer is wrong or incorrect, everyone is entitled to their views and opinions.

When MC does release something new, it's going to be a day of celebration. However, something tells me that her days of huge radio impressions on pop radio will never happen again with anything new. Maybe I am wrong. And this dry season has to been her longest time ever without releasing new music. When you start listening to MIAM reminiscing about the good old days, then it's been a long time since we have had a new Mariah Carey song that was hot on the charts. Lol.

Shezz did you see Mariah recently threw "shade" the insider account? Someone subtweeted the insiders post talking about how Mariah's music is coming soon and she has a video ready with big stars and hasn't rested at all. The subtweet had the caption "source: voices in my head" and Mariah "liked" that tweet. So I wonder if that means she's dismissing the account's claims.

The Rarities 2 would make sense to release this year. PTC was written in 2009 which makes me think it was written for Memoirs. She would need to include songs written around from 2009 through 2020 with three or four new songs after the pandemic. PTC is a dance track and would be the perfect kick off for TCOM shows.

Academy recognising Glitter (106,084)

I actually think the reason why Mariah sounds so restricted on Charmbracelet had everything to do with Glitter and her breakdown. I think she felt the world really was tired of everything Mariah, especially her voice, many people back then complained that she was just shouting, not that this had anything to do with reality. Mariah was overexposed after the 90's, much like the risk Taylor Swift is taking now.
Charmbracelet shows a Mariah that is scared to annoy or pushing more people away, almost to the point of self extinction. She did exactly what people wanted her to, become a shadow of her self, almost a different artist singing wise. Well, we all know how that turned out, it's her most forgotten and least interesting album, only positive is that it felt really personal. I'm glad she came back in 2005 wanting nothing else than to be herself, showcasing every part of her voice. If you can sing like Mariah Carey, why would you ever try to disguise that?

I love that Mariah is feeling herself. She is taking small risks personally that she said she would never do. Like being photographed from her "bad side", jumping on Ariana's remix and now sporting a red lip. I remember her saying multiple times she doesn't wear red lipstick because it doesn't suit her yet here we have her this year posting 2 photos wearing it. Glad to see she's taking over her insecurities one small thing at a time.

Mimi, your post made me listen to Glitter in its entirety today. Glitter is in MC's top 5 of vocally amazing work of art. So, what happened to her voice that she couldn't produced those same type of vocals on Charmbraclet? I don't think it had anything to do with her breakdown. Was it the lazy production on Charmbraclet? Was it the choice of producers who really didn't know how to give MC the best chords and arrangements?

Great news. I hope Mimi drops a collaboration album this fall. It makes perfect sense at stage in her career. All of the legends have done it from Lionel Richie to Barb[a]ra Streisand to Carlos Santana to Smokey Robinson. It would be a great prelude to her annual Christmas season reign.

Apparently "The Butterfly Lounge" has not been abandoned and features a host of collaborations from legends to the younger ones with some unexpected ones.
Lord only knows when any of these projects will see the light of day. I wish she had picked one project to focus on and not so many simultaneously.
According to the insider, a Shawn Mendes collaboration was recorded a year ago and she is working on something with Janet Jackson as well. Maybe it's a duets album. After so many commercially failed projects I'm sure she's doing something different this time. Mimi doesn't like to fail.

That Beyonce and Miley duet should have been Mariah and Miley on a song. MC needs a collaborator whose voice is unlike hers just spark interest for a new album. I feel their voices would sound good on a song with the right melody, lyrics and producer. Maybe it will happen soon.

Beyonce likes to push the limits in other genres to see what she can get away with. Of course, the Beehive is going crazy over her new album. Did I purchase the CD on her website? Do I like at least three songs on the album? Do I think she will be nominated for the Grammy's Album Of The Year and Song Of The Year? The answer is yes to all three questions. Mariah is out here looking like a mermaid. First of all I don't think I've ever seen her in this shade of blue. She looks great. But I wonder if she's doing a professional shoot. Because she's fully done up. Like usually in Mariah's vacation photos she has her natural girls and no makeup. Here she's full done hair and makeup and not only that she's wearing darker eye makeup. Plus she's in a gown.
