Re: Cool On You (97,334) (97,355) by Stacey from USA The only good thing about One Night are the vocals. Listening to them takes me back to that fabulous perfection of an era known as Daydream. ON sounds like two different songs put together. It's either a ballad or an uptempo song, not both. That's why it doesn't work for me and often gets skipped. It's a ridiculous argument to make. Mariah parted ways with Sony. She left. If I left my job as a teacher on bad terms, would I expect my teacher's aide to leave with me? If she stayed, would I accuse her of "siding with the school"? Of course not. So just stop. Mariah went one way and Walter A another. Quite honestly it's been how long since MC divorced Tommy? Someone needs to "get over it". Even I don't hold grudges that long. At the end of the day, they both had a hand in creating one of the most classic, timeless Christmas songs ever. I get in a few final listens as I take down decorations. The music never has that same magic after Christmas. It's like someone let the air out of the bag. Maybe that's where he's coming from. Stinks you had to be hospitalized. My hubby was in the hospital twice. He hated every minute. But his oxygen levels kept dropping below 90. Glad to hear you are on the mend. After my husband's fight with Covid, I know first hand how serious this virus is. I wish you nothing but a speedy recovery. My hubby is still very fatigued, over a month after his initial diagnosis. It don't hate it but I don't jump to it either. The addition of Ari and J-Hud adds a nice depth, more texture to a pretty straightforward song. Well done MC. Oh Santa! collab (96,822) by Stacey from USA I know some will nit pick this and that. Totally fine and their choice. I know I've done my fair share over the years. This time, I'll leave that job to those who want to. For me, I'll just say this: I liked it. It was festive. Mariah and Ariana harmonizing their whistle was a nice nod of respect toward each other. The new vocals were great. J-Hud sounded great. It all worked. I'm just gonna enjoy this moment and have some egg nog. Merry Christmas everyone. (Friday 4 December 2020; 21:03)
