About Stacey from USA: Been a fan since 1993. Favorite albums include Daydream, TEOM, and Music Box. I love a good discussion, but won't stand for hateful comments because we disagree. I am too old to deal with drama and so are you. Keep it real with me and we'll have some fun. Peace.

Thank you for your kind sentiments. He is doing well. Extremely weak but ok. [...] Thank you again. Life is short. Make each day count.

You're too kind, but there's only one William. I can't take his place. I do try with my love for Daydream, but still fall way way short. Agree though with your assessment on the video. I was hoping for something more. But it is what it is. Carey on.

Underneath the Stars (96,621) by Stacey from USA
As the resident Daydream fanatic here, I thought the video was ok. Quite honestly I found myself focusing more on singing along to the music than watching the video. Such an amazing melody you almost don't care about the video anymore.

Re: Trump (96,612) (96,620) by Stacey from USA
Oh wow someone tells me to shut up. I'm shivering. I don't recall addressing you in anyway. Nothing was directed toward you in any way. I agreed with what Andrew said, as is my right. If you have a problem with that, it is you who needs to "get lost". The funny thing is I was here before you and I'll still be here after you are long gone. Cheers.

I'm 43 years old. Been posting on this site for over a decade. I don't let the little things bother me. I do suffer from anxiety. If someone tries to put me down using that, it says more about their character than mine. The irony is today my hubby is home from the hospital suffering from Covid-19. Some two letter named faceless, nameless person telling me to shut up is laughable at this point. Carey on everyone. Life is too short to worry about the insignificant stuff.

Agreed Andrew. Well said, as always. Also, the first part of my message was not included. It was pretty good if I do say so myself. I'd type it again but why wait my time when it's not going to get posted. *sigh*

Topics like this can get out of hand pretty quickly. Best to move on. It's snowing here today so I'm busy playing Christmas music, of course. Cheers.

Anyways, this is a Mariah site and I had "Joy to the World" playing loudly in my car today.

Re: Walter Afansieff (96,519) (96,525) by Stacey from USA
Exactly. No one can deny his influence during the years he and Mariah worked together. Everyone always focuses on the bitter end to their relationship. Just because a partnership doesn't work out does not cancel out the success he had with MC. Both are talented artists. Both should be recognized. Both of them.

Re: Mariah Carey season (96,499) (96,503) by Stacey from USA
I hear you. Things are definitely different this year. But we all need to do what makes us happy and still be safe. My husband is diabetic so I need to be careful, but not hysterical. I took my kids trick or treating, and while my neighborhood felt different, for a moment life felt normal watcing my kids run from house to house. Merry Christmas. Happy Holidays everyone. Be safe and smile.

I bought a new Christmas tree and am already putting it up. I don't skip turkey day. I eat it up along with every other person, lol. I just love Christmas. AIWFCIY came on my playlist the other day and I skipped it thinking "not yet". Well now it's time.

Oh c'mon, of course nothing can touch Mariah's version. Nothing. But this is nice. Get into the spirit. Christmas comes soon.

Re: Firecracker vs. Cameo Loverboy (96,379) (96,395) by Stacey from USA
Not always true, lol. I prefer her pop stuff on most days, but love the Cameo version much more than the Firecracker one.

Re: Loverboy versus (96,386) (96,394) by Stacey from USA
I prefer the Cameo version, but you're right; it amazes me how after she learned of J-Lo swiping the sample, she can come up a redo that many love as well in such a quick amount of time.

Re: Firecracker Loverboy vs Cameo Loverboy vs Remix Lo (96,384) (96,393) by Stacey from USA
I prefer the Cameo version. Not because of nostalgia like some have suggested. To me the Firecracker sample sounds out of place. The sample is in one key and the vocals, music arrangement in another. It doesn't fit. But, that's just my opinion. If people like it, I'm happy for them. I prefer the heavier base arrangement from Candy. Listen to whatever version makes you happy.

Shoot if anyone should be upset it's Carole King. She wrote the dang song and could hardly get a word in. Truth.

"If you want the truth without the sugar coating than why get upset when it's given to you straight?"

Funny, I could ask you the same question, lol.

But I digress. Chill. I'm not upset. If some faceless person over the internet that disagrees with me gets me upset, then I've got problems. Thankfully I'm not upset. So I'm good. Carey on and oh, lighten up.

Re: Trash (96,086) (96,091) by Stacey from USA
I don't even know where to begin with such nonsense. I guess I should start by finding the 10+ Celine albums I have. The last one being Courage I bought. My favorite being A New Day Has Come from 2003. I've been a fan of both singers since the early 90s, enjoying their different styles.

The truth of the matter is Celine's voice has held up better than Mariah. Why? Sure Celine's voice has changed with age like any singer. She uses technology, playback options, etc. Early on in Celine's career she lost her voice during a performance, due to stress, overuse? Who knows. I can't remember why. Sufficeth to say, she said from that moment on she treated her voice with great care. We all point to 1997 when MC's voice changed. Coincidentally that was also the year she left Tommy. He controlled everything, especially the money (aka her voice and I'm sure how she took care of it). Now no one is going to say she should stay home, not hang out with friends, have a good time. But when you're voice is fragile to begin with, nodules and all, is drinking, hanging out with those who smoke, maybe puffing once here and there the wisest thing? I don't recall scenes of Celine banging it out in the clubs. She was home with her hubby.

You can question my fan-hood all you want. It's not like that's never been done here before, lol. But the truth is Celine's voice has held up better over the years. Has nothing to do with who's the better singer, who you prefer, noteworthy, whatever. It's just a fact. Now go and quietly ask yourself why.

Moving on to heading home now with The Rarities in my CD player. Because see that's why I come here since 2002, I think? Former collector, you'll even find some of my items listed on Eric's discography. Why am I even telling you this? Must be those dang tangents, you know the one MC is stopped from going off of at the end of Lullaby of Birdland by the band.

Re: Trash (96,071) (96,080) by Stacey from USA
You're kidding, right? Doing anything noteworthy has nothing to do with taking care of your voice. SMH.

Re: Trash (96,043) (96,067) by Stacey from USA
Or maybe she's jealous of Celine because unlike Mariah, Celine took care of her voice, and now regrets not doing the same thing.

Re: One Night (96,013) (96,033) by Stacey from USA
Ahhhh, thank you. I've had the CD in my car. I played One Night a few times today, and while I like it better after a few listens, it still gets the skip treatment. The songs but I am sounds disjointed. It starts off one way then transitions to something else, all the while the parts don't mix. Quite honestly, if the whole song was the mid-uptempo part, I'd like it more. *shrugs*
