Re: Demi (63,651) (63,657) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
Haha that'll teach her not to mess with a legend. I blame Mariah for a lot of things and I stand by my views, but this was the most stupid thing someone could have done. Dragging someone over a meme they didn't create? Demi wasn't thinking straight clearly. The lambs, the general public and several publications and shows went in on her and she had to go into hiding.

Re: It's finally over (63,650) (63,656) by RibbonB from USA
Wild N Out was a good show that was too expensive to produce, but it was revived by popular demand. It has always been one of MTV's highest rated shows. Nick's jobs and success are because he hustles hard, his marriage and health suffered because of his work ethic. Mariah might have called him thirsty, but at least he likes to work. Lol.

Lol all of the above. No not drunk, just rushed. I listened to "Out on a limb", I remembered it then. It's an OK song. I live Teena Marie's faster funky stuff so I forgot about that one. Let's hope she works with James Bay.

Re: MIAM (63,639) (63,654) by RibbonB from USA
Actually Mariah said nothing about cheating on Miam. The whole record was about him not being present the way she would have liked. Mariah implied somebody cheated during "Don't explain" in concert which of course got lots of attention. Funny all the cheating rumors during the marriage were about Mariah. I won't even name them. How funny but dice the break up Mariah is acting thirsty. Her every move is for attention and to promote this reality show. The interesting about Nick's song and all many of Marian's are they can be interpreted any ways. The TMZ part I interpret totally differently. But with Infinity Mariah implied he was broke and shaded him in a lot of ways, then she said oh no it's not about him it's about empowerment. That's the most petty empowerment song I've ever heard. Mariah is shady and gets away with it especially about Nick. But it gets people talking. A woman who wanted privacy would have worked on her marriage or divorce in person not on paper, on record and not in such a protracted way. Same with complaining about finalization when James and his wife are still not divorced. Nick isn't holding up a wedding that can't happen anyway. If the settlement terms and custody were not in dispute all she would need to do is ask a judge to close it out. TMZ and Daily Mail weekly posts keep her divorce in the press because Mariah seems to want it that way.

Agreed. I became a fan during the Daydream era and during that era she dressed in sexy yet sophisticated ensembles.

Lucia, he was irrelevant before he married Mariah. Wild N Out had been canceled and he had no projects lined up. After marry in Mariah he scored AGT and Wild N Out was revived.

Re: Sex with no context (63,636) (63,648) by Licia from USA
See I'm the opposite. I feel like her self esteem issues and the unnecessary primping got bad after Nick. There were moments during the time they were married where she oozed sexiness and it was so natural. For instance the Oprah performance where she performed IWKWLI during the Memoirs era. Actually there a lot of great moments in the Memoirs era imo.

Re: It's finally over (63,646) (63,647) by Licia from USA
Mimic L you know I love you to pieces, but that's not true. Mariah did not make him relevant. I'd rather you say that you didn't know who he was before Mariah rather than throw out the r word like he was a nobody. I'll agree that more opportunities came his way since he had gotten with Mariah, but he was doing his own thing before her and he's still doing his thing after her. I didn't know who James Packer was before her. Is it fair for me to say he was not relevant until he got with Mariah?

Re: It's finally over (63,642) (63,646) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
That and also another thing would be that Nick is only relevant because of Mariah. He has a lot of jobs but nothing that makes him as significant as Mariah. He probably wanted to be attached to Mariah's brand because that got him exposure. Once Mariah moves on with James, he won't be attached to her brand as prominently so his fame will fade away too.

TGIFU 6/18/16 (63,645) by 123 from USA
I like her little conversations with the audience before the song. Sounds like she really tried to belt higher on this night since John was in the audience. Hopefully they went to the studio upstairs in her room after the show and recorded something.

I'm hoping after the show they went up to her penthouse in Vegas, got in the studio and worked on a record together.

Re: I Don't Wanna Cry (63,616) (63,643) by Dustbin from USA
I think we had some backup track moments but not lipping. There's a difference. That's what some fans don't get. When [...] singing a whole concert, there has to be moments to breathe and save [...] voice. Mariah has been giving us belts we haven't heard in years. It's there and getting stronger. Girl has been singing. I think a lot of times the disconnect is when she does a big ballot (?)and sounds amazing, but can't do it live all the time. Let's not do that. We want to hear [...] voice on the cd and in person. She was on fire that night. Makes me feel good as a lamb. We need that on a studio song. I cannot wait to see MC on the 28th of August. Lamb est 1999.

Re: It's finally over (63,598) (63,642) by B from USA
I think he was holding out for more money and when everyone was wondering what the hold up was he caved. He basically says as much when he raps when I want from you I call you but when you want something you call TMZ. He's saying Mariah had TMZ post articles about him refusing to sign the papers and he gave up. She agreed to joint custody and if he really wanted to spend more time with his children he could easily quit one of his hundred jobs.

Re: 17 Times Mariah Carey was an absolute diva (63,628) (63,641) by B from USA
I applaud Mariah for not speaking the day before a performance. Her voice is her instrument. She still has an amazing voice. In her prime she is untouchable. Even Wendy said if she was Mariah she wouldn't speak the day before either.

From MIAM it's clear Nick cheated and was never there. She even changed the lyrics of Billie Holliday's classic to "I know you cheated, [censored]".

Re: Father's Day photos (63,620) (63,638) by Licia from USA
The song really didn't take any shots at Mariah. He has a right to talk about his frustrations about not seeing his children as much as he wants just like she was allowed to create a whole song about him. That was okay because it's Mariah. From these pics all I see is Nick trying to tell TMZ they can get along for the sake of the children. At this point that's all that matters.

Lol it's all good RibbonB. I assumed either you wrote that in the dark with very little light or in a rush, or even could've been drunk haha. Overall, I understood what you meant. I do love that song by James Bay. Although it is very soon, it's not like she hasn't remade or sampled a song right after release ("Boy" from Charmbracelet sampled Dipset's "Oh Boy" very heavily). I'd love a collaboration between the two. She seems to rather work with male musicians more. I'm curious to know if you have heard "Out on a Limb" yet. I'm sure you'll like it if you enjoy 80's R&B/Soul.

Re: Sex with no context (63,631) (63,636) by Marissa from USA
I agree. I can find countless photos of MC during the Mottola marriage showing cleavage and leg despite the fact that she makes it sound like she was forced to dress like a pilgrim for the first 6 years of her career. Sometimes you have a few intensely negative experiences and it clouds your mind to the facts of what actually happened, and I think that's what happened to her in the whole "wardrobe oppression" narrative. Mariah has always been sexy and it always felt natural to me until she got with Nick. Then her sexiness started to feel like it was coming from a place of having something to prove (proving that she was young and hot enough to keep up with Nick despite the age difference). I truly don't believe that Mariah feels like she is enough simply being. The boobs, lighting, angles and overt sexiness is now the source of her self-esteem rather than it being because she's a child of God. That's why the pettiest imperfections are a source of crisis for her. If she truly had healthy self-esteem, the occasional bad picture or not-so-flattering angle would be like water off a duck's back. It's sad (and mildly infuriating) to me that rather than going to war with her insecurities via therapy or whatever method she saw fit, she gave in and let them hijack her life and is dealing with the same level of baggage now that she was in 1990. Other people can't even function normally around her because they need to accomodate her 100 idiosyncrasies to even have a conversation or take a photo. It's painful to watch and I don't believe she'll even correct these things, especially with the shallow traveling circus being her new group of peers.

MIAM (63,635) by RibbonB from USA
Except Mariah wrote a whole CD about the break up and Infinity about moving on. People blame Nick but the funny thing is she released the CD and the break down of their marriage really sped up. It's funny how people ignore faded to the art of letting go and act like she hasn't said anything. Mariah seems to be running this stunt anyway. Just as another perspective he may be doing her bidding, like he says in his song he will play the bad guy and not tell the real story. There is more than meets the eye.

Re: Sex with no context (63,619) (63,631) by Warrior Butterfly from USA
I have to agree with you and expand on it bare with me. When she was going through her liberation in the mid-late 90's her choosen image may have been surprising to people but it made sense given her age. Even if the audience watching knew nothing about her, she was in her 20's having fun, normal. I get they "made her button up" in the early phases of her career, so she "rebelled". However the seeds of a conservative look was a smart business move for Mariah's career longevity going beyond three albums, had MT allowed her to dress in a provocative style of the time she would have been forgotten quickly. Although I have to wonder how controlled she really was some of those dresses from back then were pretty tight. Looking at Mariah Carey without knowing anything about her image just viewing her album covers, even her debut promo shots are very figure hugging. Emotions cover shot tight dress, Merry Christmas cover the sexy Mrs. Clause look wish she had gone with the alternate look in her promo material such as this. The Daydream cover was the most covered just a peek at her stomach. Butterfly tube top and Capri pants sexy but not over the top. #1's tight halter top dress, Rainbow essentially tank top and underwear not what I essentially think an MC album cover should be, she is not Madonna or Janet. It's just not her look as a person. After her breakdown in 2001 she had to clean up otherwise the public and the business industry would have not taken her seriously it was damage control. Now that she fixed her hiccup with Glitter she feels she can do whatever she wants. She struck a good balance during her 30's the Charmbracelet era 2002, over all look flirty but sensible though she did strong hints at her chest, TEOM 2005 sexualized with videos, however another balance was her look from the 2006 Grammy's figure flattering and elegant. In 2008 with E=MC2 when she closed out the early 2000's sex was there all the way nothing but boa on her cover even the back cover hint of bare breast, she says she doesn't realize she's being flirtatious I strongly doubt it. She feels the pressure to compete with each the new crop of singers that are not her. Even what made her synonymous with the term whistle register is being challenged via Ariana Grande and Christina Aguilera.

Thanks Antonio. I font recall out on a limb, I will have yo YouTube that one. The current dong I lobe which Mariah would be goof at is let it go by James Bay. That song is do tender and instantly timeless. Too soon for her or anyone to cover it, but if she could co write dome songs with James Bay that might be great.
