Re: Billy, B, Giovanni and One Sweet Day (63,325) (63,362) by radhames from Curacao
Mirage_Nunez I couldn't agree more with you. These [censored] come here just to complain everything Mariah does and to praise Patti. It so annoying. If you want the 90's Mariah, go to YouTube, watch her videos and stop beating that dead horse.

I agree musicfanj, so many good songs to choose from.

Thanks Giovanni. It's been really lovely to see the respect for Selena as an artist and a person on the messageboard, and cool to know she has some fans among the lambs. I like your song choices too. There isn't much in her catalogue I don't enjoy but that's just me. Lol. Some of the more obscure Tejano tracks are just "ok". Her contribution to music may have been short, but to me, the music is timeless, and she has become a legendary artist in her own way.

Disappointed in MC (63,358) by Todd from Sydney, Australia
I wholeheartedly agree with Andrew. Really disappointed that Mariah, a supposed friend of the LGBT community, hasn't so much as said "boo" about the Orlando massacre. Could it be that she is in Mariah's World and just completely unaware that it's actually happened?

Yeah I wish she would say something.

Re: Yeah it sucks (63,342) (63,356) by Dustbin from USA
Absolutely. And I think she could get away from the studio singer issue by rearranging the songs. She can't sing them like she used to. Slow it down, rearrange, and give us new life. She still sounds better than anyone out there with her current voice but it's overshadowed by backup tracks and lipping. The public thinks it's all smoke and mirrors. Though there are many, it's not all true. We have been listening to Mariah long enough and we know when the backup track starts. Show us the artist we all know you are Mariah.

Re: Repetitive Vegas show (63,322) (63,355) by Dustbin from USA
Firstly. I don't care about Instagram or social media in general. Not my bag. However I do think the posts from MC can be fine tuned. Regarding the Vegas show. Sneaking in a fan request isn't a lot to ask for. Changing a song to acoustic isn't asking a lot. I would prefer the "to Infinity" part of the show referenced other MC songs, not the actual song. She could do all the #1's and each show sing a random song or a new one. We pay a lot of money for this that and the other to see Mariah. Am I reaching for the stars here? I don't think so.

Re: #1's to Insanity (63,347) (63,354) by Mirage_Nunez from America
But why be so obsessed and fixated on what the "public" thinks about Mariah though? Why are you allowing it to affect your feelings towards her? Why do you feel the need to spread the hatred of the people who don't like her instead of the love for her on here? Don't you have your own mind? What good is it doing crying over the same thing over, and over, and over, and over again? We already know MC voice changed after Daydream. We have researched, dissected, and analyzed this topic a billion times and all came to a consensus as to what, when, where, and why her voice changed and have moved on. The "insanity" is in keep on asking a the same (in all caps) rhetorical redundant question like it just happened yesterday. It like please let it go, we get it and got it already baby. If you have outgrown Mariah accept it and move on like others have. If you have turned on Mariah then just admit it and stop trolling so hard and making negativity your stole purpose for posting i.e. move on. If she's such a titty flashing, bitchy, drunk, classless, slutty, non gay community supporting, irritating, childish, horrible music making, lip syncing, no more voice having, bitter, lazy, fragile victim then why are you here? Why be an oppressed as a former fan? How long will allow yourself to be consumed by someone you don't like anymore?

Re: Repetitive Vegas show (63,322) (63,353) by Licia from USA
I actually thought I defended the Vegas show and why it probably wouldn't change, but once again you only comprehended bits and pieces of everyone's posts. You tried to go at Mimi L about saying Crapfinity was supposed to be removed. I recall her post saying that Mariah said she was going to remove the song. Anyway let me define Crapfinity since I was the one who said it. Crapfinity is the crappy song that Mariah sings at the end of the Vegas show that never should have been written or presented to the public. Now this is not an official definition. This is my personal opinion and for me it does not matter why Mariah wrote it, it's still a horrible song imo. Now back to your regularly scheduled program.

Re: Mariah's Orlando tweet (63,349) (63,352) by ADAM from USA
Exactly. This tragedy in Orlando has been a global event and yet not a peep from her. Could her recent interview with Pride magazine be anymore generic? I thought her answers were so canned and overarching that it could be applied to any sub group or audience. She once again has proven that she will say anything to not alienate one group over another when in actuality gays have been keeping her relevant and rich for all these years when the general public has written her off as a joke and has-been who lost her voice.

Re: Yeah it sucks (63,342) (63,351) by ADAM from USA
Randy I really appreciate your insight and agree with your previous statements about her live performances. I don't consider it bashing or mean spirited. This is a fan-site and I visit this site regularly to engage and read about multiple viewpoints about Mariah Carey. She is not perfect and certainly does things that warrant criticism. I think it's healthy to debate topics like these and hope that you don't become swayed to no longer be honest on this forum because some people think this should be a pep rally for all things wonderful about Mariah who does everything perfect and 100%.

Article: Mariah Carey Q&A: Visions of (unconditional) love (63,350) by Marissa from USA
This was an exquisite article. I've always said that Mariah's interviews in print are by far the best. No eternally 12 tangents, hair primping or boob adjusting. My favorite question was what would 1990 Mariah think of 2016 Mariah. Her answer was pretty surface but it was still a good question.

Mariah's Orlando tweet (63,349) by Andrew from UK
Given Mariah's recent GLAAD award, could somebody post Mariah's tweet in response to the massacre of LGBT persons in Florida? Surely she made one, being such an advocate of the LGBT community and a gay icon, etc? Of course, she did. I'm sure she didn't post something about National Children's Day, instead. Looking forward to reading it.

#1's to Insanity (63,347) by Andrew from UK
Randy, your truth is your own and your viewpoint is completely valid. Mariah has not been a singer who can pick up a microphone and just sing for many years. Asking for her to do so, to prove to the public that she actually hit those notes in the studio, is not disrespectful or "hate". Don't silence yourself in response to the mad viewpoints of those who do probably see what the public think of Mariah but choose to pretend it's not real. Listing lip-sync performances as live and then criticising other singers who are actually pulling it off is insanity. So keep posting your thoughts in the hope that Mariah snaps out of whatever it is has been going on for the past few years and becomes a professional music artist again. Only then will the Kelly Price's of the world be put into their place. And the delusional deniers have something to actually defend.

Licia, yeah, my 6 year old nephew is the same way. He just likes to say booty or butt in totally inappropriate ways and times. I think it's being shocking at that age. Silly boys, lol. And you're welcome Mimi L. I didn't want to make another post. It's great to see that they try to keep the kids feeling grounded and most certainly loved.

Re: Billy, B, Giovanni and One Sweet Day (63,310) (63,344) by Giovanni from USA
"The torch carriers from Aretha and Patti"? Seriously Randy. I can't. Neither of them come even close vocally to Aretha or Patti. And why would you bring Kelly Price in the mix? She isn't a real singer or vocalist. Her cover of Shirley Murdock's "As we lay" was just awful and lackluster. Mariah didn't look like she was struggling to me. She killed both songs and got Patti to stand up. There were also others who stood up so stop exaggerating. If I could put Jennifer Hudson against Beyonce in a vocal battle, Beyonce would more and likely end up the winner. Jennifer would get worn out fast. And Fantasia against Jessie J, Jessie would slaughter her. I hope you're mad. We both have are opinions on who is a better voice or singer.

Yeah it sucks (63,342) by Randy from USA
That you all think I don't like MC. I've just been critical of her live performances. I want her to sound like her records without lip syncing. I don't think that's much to ask. My last point Billy and then I am going to shut up on this topic. On My All, where did the background singers come from on her live performances of the song? There's no backgrounds on the record. Same is true with Through The Rain. But what I've really just decided is that it's foolish to try to find answers here. This is a fan board and many, like I once did, think MC was exceptional live in 98-now until others showed me what exceptionality looks like live. I don't dislike MC. I dislike fraudulence. Something traumatic happened between Daydream Tokyo in 1996 and Oprah 1997 and she ain't been quite right vocally since. And she's used backing tracks on stage and studio tricks in the studio to seem like she can still belt. It's never been addressed. But to come here and keep making the same point to whereas people think I don't like her is insanity. So I'll come here for positivity. I think MC is the greatest artist of all time and I don't want her to be known as a studio singer. I don't think any of you have any idea how the general public views her as a singer. But maybe Mimi L is right. I should stop defending her and stop trying to figure out the need for the wizard behind the curtain. Just enjoy what's been and let her legacy end up whatever it is.

Article: Mariah Carey Q&A: Visions of (unconditional) love (63,340) by Billy from Greece
Fantastic piece. Exceptional questions. Only a fan would ask these questions and I'm so happy that there was this opportunity for him and for us. Mariah did try to have a more light or "general" approach to certain of her answers to some really excellent questions that were what many fans have been begging to ask her. But the interviewer did manage to get her around to doing a "deeper" interview of sorts, which we really haven't seen in a long time. Just great, I can't praise this piece enough.

Aww thanks for informing about it, I didn't see it before. "Dembabies" are growing are just so cute and Roe Roe will grow up to be a stunner just like her mother, while Roc will be such a handsome guy, like Nick. The videos were adorable and funny. I love how Nick and Mariah put their kids first and they are such a great example. Even though the divorce ended on a bitter note, it makes me happy to see that they put it behind and do so much for the babies.

Re: The Remixes (63,319) (63,338) by Bill from the UK
I understand I Still Believe/Pure Imagination didn't make it onto the album due to copyright reasons (clearance etc) around the Pure Imagination sample. It's a real shame as it is the only major omission from the album and would have been better than all the album cuts that filled the second disc.
