Obsessed remixes (105,991)
by Robert-Anthony from United States
| |
|
|
I have always thought the Obsessed remixes that made up the Memoirs 2CD set was a brilliant marketing move. The Obsessed club version was #1 on the Billboard Dance and the Dance/Mix Show Airplay charts. It was even included on multiple dance compilation CDs in 2009 and 2010. I feel that the huge success of Obsessed kind of started the talk about the Angel's Advocate remix album. Also, the Obsessed remix CD was MC's last physical release remix CD. Every remix release was digital after that release. I hope that she will include something like that on MC16.

Beyonce is about make a lot of country music fans even more mad with her Cowboy Carter album dropping in two weeks. I sure hope she knows what she has gotten herself into stepping into country music with a full blown album.

There's little true talent out there too now. The last one for me was Adele, who is no longer a major player. I'm sad that her career might be cut short, because she didn't take care of her voice. But now we're in a Barbie moment. You just have to look the part and make a few bland music, and the public will eat it.

Missing projects list (105,980)

Add to your list an album MC said the Lambs have been wanting her to do. It can only be a jazz or gospel album. Also, add that Diane Warren collaboration that Diane Warren eluded to was better than CTTA.

I am just finding right now that music now is just boring and lacks creativity. I sure hope that this summer gives us memorable music for the rest of the year. I just wonder if there's a reason why Dua Lipa has not announced her album title or release date. Does she anticipate huge sales and streaming numbers if she holds out until later this year?

Lol. I am with you Mimi. I am not believing any of it this time. MC has been quiet this time I guess for a good reason. I do believe she is gearing up for some type of release for The Celebration of Mimi shows. Why would she call up Markus Klinko just for new photos for some Vegas billboards?

Ok so, we all know these insider accounts have messed with our heads. A bunch of stuff they mentioned turned out to be false like a YAR MV, a YAR live performance the day after release, a strong promo plan for YAR to go to #1. Then of course there are rumors about Cardi and all but we'll see where it goes. But in the last few days I see there has been a few new posts indicating Mariah. First was a Butterfly emoji with the words "this March". The account uses Butterfly to indicate Mariah. Then it says MC and Janet Jackson are in the talks of a collaboration and the latest one with a hashtag rumor is a butterfly and snake emoji. Snake is usually now Taylor's avatar for reputation. There's also a post about her having special guests at the Vegas shows. So I am prepared to be hurt again. Join me.

Caution and Eternal Sunshine (105,965)
by Robert-Anthony from United States
| |
|
|
So true Jaker. I have been saying this since Caution failed to yield a pop hit. I thought it could be Devonte Hynes, but he doesn't produce commercial pop and R&B hits. She needs songwriters and producers like Claude Kelly and Chuck Harmony (The Shindellas) and Madicin (Kenny Lattimore) to get her to Atlanta after the Vegas shows and create some great music for 6-8 weeks.

"So which brings me to why does it take Mariah so long nowadays to release an album?"
Mariah has no frequent collaborator anymore. That's her missing recipe. No artist can do it alone. Her focus on Christmas took her out of the loop. She needs a team and needs to be collaborating with new musicians, because frankly her career outlived her partnerships with JD, The-Dream or Afanasief, etc.
Mariah needs someone to bring those creative juices out of her like she does when she freestyle during her concerts.

Caution and Eternal Sunshine (105,955)
by Robert-Anthony from United States

It's like Ariana said to Max Martin, here is my story, will you help me tell it. He helped her create a cohesive brilliant album. I am going to listen to an album 2-3 times in player before I give my review. Eternal Sunshine is the type of album to listen to with your boo driving through the city on a Saturday evening. I just didn't get it the first time especially with Yes And? being the first single.

I believe it's a control issue. Mariah wants to be 100% involved in every aspect. Especially how her voice is engineered. With Caution and Memoirs Of An Imperfect Angel she gave up a big portion of that to others and the results were a more cohesive album that to this day have the best review scores. Sometimes I think because of what happened with her debut album, the lack of control and her pushing the fact that she's a writer/producer so hard it hinders her in time it takes to release something. I'm not going to doubt her abilities as she has proven time and again that she is the secret sauce to all of her music, but, it is clear Ariana gave Max Martin the entire runway to do his job. And, yes did it wonderfully.

I believe MC is hurt that she doesn't have her range like she used to, record her songs like the way she is used to recording them. You know she is a perfectionist and loves to add different vocal techniques and runs to her songs. I bet it just hurts her that she can't do Lead The Way runs anymore.

by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter

I remember Mariah expressed her dissatisfaction with being pushed to release "Caution" with a quick turnaround. Ariana said in her interviews that Eternal Sunshine took her 3 months to complete. She also kind of did it while shooting for a major movie. Eternal Sunshine is getting great reviews and is said to be cohesive and impactful. So which brings me to why does it take Mariah so long nowadays to release an album? She is no stranger to churning out great albums, and she finished Rainbow in a few months. But what is stopping her from fully investing herself in an album now? If she can come up with WBT, ILT, SIO all within a span of 2 days, what's hindering her now?

If Made For Me was MC's (105,943)
by Robert-Anthony from United States

Made For Me should have been for MC. Muni Long said in this interview that Made For Me was a demo that she had been sitting on for years before JD and BMC added their touch. Wow, just think if she gave it to MC back in 2018 to replace With You. MC wouldn't had such a dry Caution era. The AI version is definitely what MC would have sounded like.

I think you're on to something. She redid WBT. Maybe the Butterfly Lounge turned into a a redo of TEOM with duets. Maybe a re-release on the anniversary with a bonus disc of remakes from Mimi? Although, do CD's even sell anymore? I think Mariah should focus on SUD, if it's actually a thing. A new album would not do well in this climate for Mariah. Ariana's Grande album will not debut with big numbers, and she's the biggest streaming artist out there. The reason Mariah focuses on the Christmas album every year is because it actually makes money and there is interest in it.

Ariana SNL performance (105,934)
by Robert-Anthony from United States
| |
|
|
After her beautiful and brilliant performances on SNL, I listented to Eternal Sunshine again. I have to say now that I totally get her new album. Why didn't she just say that it was a break-up album for those individuals who have lost? It is now Spotify's biggest most streamed album in a single day with 54.8 millions streams with 8 of the album's tracks in the Spotify Top 10. Also, I wonder what happened between Ariana and Dalton. The album is definitely about him.

Oh wow. That's major if it's true. Mariah may have something up her sleeve after all. Maybe a re-release with a brand new extra disc (I'm being greedy lol) of new songs that never made the final cut - you know she did write and record that album the whole year through 2004. I remember Mariah was missing in action all year, then materialized with that silvery metallic blue dress at an event at the end of the year. Also her song with Jadakiss was about the only thing she featured in and had her sounding well rested and in form again.

Ariana's Eternal Sunshine drops tomorrow. Where is the hype for her new album? It has faded away just like the YAN remix. It may be her lowest first week sales to date. The buying public this year doesn't seem to giving artists huge first week sales. Usher and JLo's albums both faded into oblivion. Guess who will change the dismal album sales in April?

Release (105,878)
by Robert-Anthony from United States
| |
|
|
Taylor's fans are mostly young teens and college students who are very gullible. I just don't get the mania for her. She wouldn't have this mania frenzy if she had stayed in country music. Country music fans and radio pushed her out of the country music genre for her boring non-traditional country love songs. She didn't have a choice but to become a pop star. And we are paying dearly for her being so popular now.

100% a cash grab and draining her fans. I don't understand why people aren't sick of it yet but I saw a lot of comments under the multiple versions that fans are getting annoyed. The greatest interpolation (105,873)
by Robert-Anthony from United States

The greatest interpolation in our lifetime will always be Bryson Tiller's Don't when he sang a liitle of Shake It Off during the 2nd verse. If you didn't know Shake It Off, then you would miss it every time. This is what MC needs to do for hit song. She needs a R&B slow jam with a 90s SWV or Total interpolation.

Mariah never lied or let anyone on (105,869)
by Robert-Anthony from United States
| |
|
|
If she would just give us some studio pics or an interview or a tweet, it would ease our minds about new music coming out this year. Also, she said in 2022 that she would be working with a young male singer. I believed that young male singer was Bryson Tiller. He said that he was trying to find the right song in early 2023. 2007 Mariah in the studio is not the same 2024 Mariah in the studio. It seems like she has lost her drive for one reason or another to get a body of work out to her Lambs. I miss the times when she would post on Twitter that she was headed back to N.Y. from Atlanta sequencing the album. We knew that the album was completed after that tweet.

by T from USA

These things take time and when she said she's worked with younger producers or newer artists she has. Khalid, Latto and Ariana Grande are all newer artists she has delivered throughout the years. Guys, albums aren't in. They don't sell and have a shelf life of one week. It's not happening. The Butterfly Lounge, these new collections of songs, it's all her creating but it doesn't mean it's being packaged as an album in the traditional sense. Max Martin was the biggest surprise as it is the farthest sound Mariah is known for these days. But it was a fresh sound. Let's wait for the Christmas shows, I hear they are going international this year. I just don't want people spending their whole year waiting for a new album when it's clear that she isn't there. Vegas is being branded as a TEOM theme. Setting her up for a big Mimi anniversary next Spring. I do have a feeling she is holding SUD back to see if she's getting into the RRHOF.

I am working on multiple projects. 2021 2. I hope to release the Butterfly Lounge. 2022 3. I am working on something the Lambily have been asking me for. 2022 4. I have about 10 songs completed with my writing partner. I said to him that I guess we are working on an album. 2023 5. I still have some more songs to record. 2023

Release (105,863)
by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
| |
|
|
I do think Mariah will release something before Christmas, whether it's a single or an album I don't know but I feel like YAR can't be the only thing. Also I'm curious to know why this Vegas residency is TEOM themed? What's the significance? It's not a milestone year and if she was going to do a residency eitherways why market it for an album released 19 years ago? Anyways as frustrated as Mariah's business moves make me, I gotta say I'm grateful she doesn't rob the fans like some artists are doing aka Taylor Swift releasing multiple versions of the same album with only 1 exclusive track in each to basically make fans buy 4 "limited edition" versions of the same album. This is on top of the tour, tour merch, tour movie at cinemas, the tour movie rental and now the tour movie streaming. That on top of releasing re-recordings of old albums and there's 2 more to go.
