The audio quality of the St John The Devine convert is far superior on this release than the deluxe edition. Plus the added bonus of Hero. I wasn't going to purchase but after hearing how much better it was I couldn't resist.

So happy (107,772)
by Robert-Anthony from United States
| |
|

I think all of the recent Christmas interviews, the 30th anniversary, the concerts, and the pop-up bar have taken AIWFCIY to new levels this holiday season. Plus, people are more excited about Christmas this year. Last year was kind of bleak and people were less enthusiastic about the holiday season.

AIWFCIY is already projected to hold the number one position on the Hot 100 next week. Even though it's still an early prediction, the song seems to be performing really well across streaming, radio, and sales. The competition is tough though, RATCT and LC made huge jumps to their respective top five position on the chart.

Marc Shaiman (107,762)
by Robert-Anthony from United States
| |
|
|
Marc Shaiman's two Christmas songs with MC reminds me how MC can just hum the melody at the piano and any piano player can reproduce exactly what she hummed. I just know that is how Christmas Time Is In The Air Again was created. We need an album just solely produced by Marc Shaiman.

I anticipate that All I Want for Christmas Is You will secure two more weeks at number one this holiday season, while Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree and Last Christmas could each claim one week at the top. This would position AIWFCIY just four weeks away from breaking the record for the most weeks at number one on the Billboard Hot 100.

Mariah is projected to be #1 next week by Talk of the Charts. Will Brenda Lee gain steam and take over in the coming weeks? I love how Hot 100 becomes exciting now every December.
Bar Song tied Old Town Road last week for 19 weeks at number 1, then got knocked off my Lamar. If Mariah gets 2-3 weeks at #1 this year, she might be in the running to take that title next year.

Last Christmas is sitting at #2 on the iTunes chart today because it is the song's 40th anniversary. It will definitely be in top 10 next week on the Hot 100. It would have been so cool if MC had planned to release her cover of Last Christmas this holiday season. She really doesn't release stand alone singles like Usher, Keyshia Cole, Drake, and other artists.

Seriously? (107,736)
by Robert-Anthony from United States
| |
|

Right on Mimi. I want any artist of today to even try to have the success that MC has had in her career especially in the 90s. MC ruled the 90s so much so that no other artist had multi-platinum worldwide hit albums and record breaking #1 singles for 10 years without a break.

Seriously? (107,735)
by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
| |

The key word/phrase is "majority of her success". So not all of her success is contained in the 90s. The list isn't for "who peaked in the 21st century". Mariah wasn't irrelevant in the 21st century. She had a second song of the decade, she had multiple #1s, she broke multiple records including becoming the the artist with the most #1's, she is probably the only artist who ended and started multiple years at the #1 position, 7 top 5 albums , 11 top 20 singles, multiple accolades and other stuff I can remember at this point of time. Also AIW single handedly is responsible for how now more and more artists make Christmas albums early on into their careers. And what do you mean she's not a pop star? Of course she is. Pop isn't only bubblegum pop, it's any artist/music that has been popular at a certain point of time, Billboard named her the greatest popstar of 1991. Anyways all of this to say I'm not saying she should top the list, could have been one of the honourable mentions.

A song could reach number one on the Billboard Hot 100, yet rank only number 10 on the Holiday Chart. This happens because each chart reflects different aspects of a song's performance and caters to specific audiences.
The Hot 100 reflects overall popularity across all genres, combining metrics like streaming, radio airplay, and sales from a broad audience.
In contrast, the Holiday 100 Chart focuses solely on the song's performance within the holiday genre. It factors in specialized radio airplay, genre-specific streaming, and sales data relevant to that category.
So, a song might dominate the mainstream charts due to widespread appeal, but its performance within a specific genre may be weaker in comparison resulting in a lower ranking on that genre specific chart.

Sad to see Mariah not on the list. Even though her major chunk of success was in the 90s, she's had huge moments in the 2000s and has cemented her legacy by continuing to be relevant and selling out tours almost 35 years into her. Her impact on the music industry is unparalleled.

For Mariah's next album, assuming it's Emancipation of Mimi Part 3, what would be the appropriate title and do you think she already has a name for it and what could it be? The (fill in the blank) of Mimi? I don't want it to be like a farewell title because I want more albums after. How about The Proclamation of Mimi, reminding everyone she is an icon. I know it's obviously Emancipation Proclamation speech but I think it could work.

I know that was wrong of Chris Brown to do that to Rihanna, but she has forgiven him. The industry has forgiven him. You can't deny his talent and popularity that makes his songs so popular on the R&B charts. To conclude, I think MC just hasn't been approached by Chris Brown to collaborate. No to Chris Brown for me. Also rumor has it Mariah refused to sit with him at an event after he assaulted Rihanna. We don't need her associating with another known abuser. If Mariah really wants to go out of her comfort zone I would love to see a duet with Post Malone or Zayn or Harry Styles. Hell why not a sexy song with Sabrina Carpenter. Nonsense is a very Ariana-Mariah type song. Mariah, Ariana and Sabrina on a song would be lethal.

A Breezy duet for Valentine's day would set the internet on fire. Their voices would sound so good together on a hot passionate R&B love song. Their duet would be looked at as being creative and stepping out of their comfort zone. I just feel it would be a number #1 song on multiple charts. Who wouldn't love a Breezy and Mimi duet? Mimi needs a song to get the public's attention in 2025. Babyface, Daryl Simmons, Antonio Dixon, Muni Long, and Tank should co-write the song with Breezy and Mimi.

I believe you are right, Mimi. Based upon the Billboard Hot 100 chart a year ago, AIW made it annual debut at #17. It is no where to be found on this week's chart dated November 16, 2024. It will be interesting if it doesn't make it to number one this year or who her competition will be battling her for the number one spot. Jason Kelce's Maybe It's Christmas is currently sitting at number #1 on iTunes and MC is number #3.

If it isn't it'll be due to the oversaturation. AIW was an organic hit because of its timeless feel. But in the last few years there's been so much saturation with AIW, with Mariah fully embracing the Christmas lady persona. I get it that holidays are where the money's at but I wish she didn't push it so much.

To be honest, if Mariah wasn't reserving this year for something big for this anniversary, what was stopping her from finishing her other projects like MC16, TBL, etc. I get she was doing shows, but they weren't so intense that she didn't have time to finish her projects. I was thinking she's avoiding releases this year to focus on the anniversary. Even the Netflix special I thought it's a documentary turns out it's just a taping of her show.
