About Stacey from USA:
Been a fan since 1993. Favorite albums include Daydream, TEOM, and Music Box. I love a good discussion, but won't stand for hateful comments because we disagree. I am too old to deal with drama and so are you. Keep it real with me and we'll have some fun. Peace.

Already forgotten. Thank you. Life is too short to hold grudges with people in my personal lives and strangers on a message board. Plus, you're a fellow Libra, so I definitely can't stay mad. Carey on.

Same here, I'll be looking for new music, movies and TV series to distract myself from all the craziness around the elections. It's a shame that we live in a beautiful world that can be so ugly and unpleasant at the same time. Life is short and wonderful if we can look past all the horrible things around us and not let them affect us in a negative manner. I am truly sorry that I offended anyone, I know that I could be more diplomatic in my comments and I've failed miserably at that. I believe everyone has the right to live their lives as they choose without judgement. Stacey I'm sorry for my negative comments directed at you.

I am not looking forward to everything that leads up to election day in November. The name calling, the political ads during primetime programming, and the uneasy political climate irritates me from September to November. I hope this Fall TV season's new shows like Poppa's House (CBS), Brillant Minds (NBC), Georgie's and Mandy's First Marriage (CBS), Happy Place (NBC), and Elsbeth (CBS) can brighten my mood this fall.

Yes. That's exactly what I am doing. No trying needed. I gave you direct quote. Want another one? I've got plenty. BFF gave you examples too. You can't say Trump is racist and that makes it true. You have to argue for it. What has he done, actions, that prove your claim? Facts don't care about your feelings.

Stacey, come on now. You're gonna try to tell us that Trump isn't racist but Biden is? First of all that isn't even relevant now, and secondly it's patently false. Biden may be a gaffe machine, but racist he is not. Trump doesn't even bother with dog whistle politics, he says the quiet part out loud, in the rare instance he makes any sense at all. I mean, you tell yourself what you need to, but the Trump Vance ticket is racist (Vance: I love my wife even though she's not white), misogynist, anti lgbtq, etc. It's the "take us back to the good old days when the white guys ruled everything" ticket. And this is coming from a white (gay) guy. If you truly believe in what you're saying, you may need to diversify your news sources. And now let's get back to talking about Mariah, who ain't voting for Trump.

I'm not from Michigan. I'm from Southern California. But I still root for Michigan whenever they play Penn St or Ohio St. Gymnastics. I wanted the USA men to get a medal. They had not won a team medal since 2008. So fun to watch them get the bronze.

I would just encourage everyone to do their research, cross check their information, and make an educated decision in November as well as get involved in their local politics and elections. Don't take my word for anything or anyone else's, go seek the truth and go from there. At the end of the day we will all vote for whomever and have to live with those decisions. I'm not here to sway anyone or educate anyone on anything.

Biden: "If you have a problem, figuring out whether you're for me or Trump, then you ain't black." He said that during the 2020 campaign. What a racist statement. So that means all his supporters are racists? Of course not. Hunter Biden lied on a federal form to buy a gun. Does that mean all Biden supporters are liars? No.
Democrats use race all the time when talking about policies. Trump does the exact same thing during a debate, arguing against illegal immigration, and it's racist and so are his supporters? The media creates this perception that Trump and his supporters are racists. Where is the proof? I just can't anymore with this logic. Carey on.

I followed this thread back a bit to make sense of it. I understand that Trump supporters may not consider themselves racist. I'm sorry, but you may feel that way, but Trump supporters are all complicit in his racist rhetoric. I mean, just take his comments from the debate, which he only won because Biden was a deer in headlights. "They are taking all the black jobs." This may not be an accurate direct quote, but it's close. Who are "they"? What are "black jobs"? It's a misguided attempt at gaining support among people of color. Immigrants are stealing the crappy jobs that nobody wants, which of course would normally go to black people. I'm not sure he even realizes how racist that is, because it's so engrained in him. Tell yourself whatever you need to, if you want to continue to support Trump, but know you're voting for a racist, misogynist ticket, and a man who is telling us straight up he's going to crown himself king.

Mr. Big (You): "I don't get it." Carrie Bradshaw (Me): "And you never did."
Good, respectful, healthy political conversation is a lost art. Stop the name calling. That's all I've been trying to say to you. It has no place in conversation no matter the topic. If that makes me a loser, cultist, such a horrible person in your eyes, then I'm guilty as charged. Shame on me for arguing such a thing. SMH.

I'm not sure which part of toilet paper you didn't understand. I can't begin to grasp the mentality of the far right MAGA cult that supports Trump. He's a very dangerous person and already denying the upcoming elections results. Democracy is at stake here. It's bigger than you and I, name calling, money, political correctness, self righteousness, etc. There's so much at stake that I'm not worried about how I feel or how I make someone else feel. I don't mince my words and I call it like I see it. Have you seen people wearing a fake bandage on their ear? The cultists will make excuses for Trump that they won't even make for themselves or their loved ones. If it quacks like a cult, and walks like a cult, it's a cult. I get my news from multiple respectable sources, not the Trump media, Fox News and Tik Tok. I've done my research. You don't have to do yours, that's my problem. I'm not here to school you.

I encourage you to read the book "What this comedian said will shock you" written by Bill Maher. He despises Trump. He said this, "'I can't hate you. I've said it a billion times. You can hate Trump, you can't hate all the people who like him. It's half the country.' I'm certainly not blind to Donald Trump's fault. I get it why people choose to vote for him. You know, somebody who's conservative once said to me 'What you don't get, you liberals don't get about Trump is that we don't like it either. We just see him as a bulwark against the nonsense on the left.' And I understand that because there is a lot of nonsense on the left and that's in my book, too."
I share his thoughts because you have every right to call Trump a racist. That's your opinion. But you can't call his supporters racist. That's something I'll always push back on. Maher is simply saying he hates Trump but can't hate his followers. Those are good people. Instead of calling someone a cultist, find out why they support Trump. You might learn something, and in turn that person might learn something from you. Good conversation is severely lacking in today's society.

I will say this and then I think I'll drop it. Trump unites people in hate. He's not a "Christian" and neither are his followers. He hates the same groups that his followers hate, whether it's the blacks, the gays, the trans, the Latinos or anyone that's different. His supporters seem to think that he will eradicate these already marginalized groups, like Hitler did. They can use the excuse about making more money all they want and use the same talking points they hear on Fox News all day long, it doesn't change what's in their heart, hate. Instead of worrying focusing on themselves and leaving their kids generational wealth all their kids will inherit is generational hate. I know because I see it in my own family. Which I gladly don't speak to, bunch of haters. No one is free of sin and no one's sins are greater than others. We are all the same.

You are welcome. I love having political discussions with people who see things differently. One of my favorite commentators is Bill Maher. Not exactly a Trump supporter.
I love Back to Black. This is gonna sound silly but I think Can't Let Go lyrics could mesh over the Back to Black arrangement. I was bored one night and came across both songs and when I listen to BTB I kept thinking of Can't Let Go. Random thought, I know. Go Team USA.

First, one way to recover from a "burn" is to laugh at a little sarcasm thrown your way. My name has been misspelled my entire life. I was having a little fun. Lighten up. Second, I'll always respond to people who engage me in friendly conversation, no matter the topic. Third, I will always call out name calling in politics. Calling people cultists and losers simply because they support the other candidate serves no purpose and divides us further. Division is the last thing we need. You could learn a few things from BFF. Fourth, go Team USA.

Yes, what a final for the olympic opening. The final was the best. The German commentator shared some tears too because of Céline Dion. You could hear it. He was very moved. My husband and I watched the whole opening ceremony and parts of it felt so off. As a Christian the mocking of the last supper was super disappointing. Christians can be mocked but if one mocks another religion all heck breaks loose. But I digress. Seeing Celine sing a beautiful song at the end was for sure the best part. All the rest felt strange to me. No matter. I am excited to support Team USA. Goud luck to all the athletes.

I would be relieved to have Trump and Biden gone. Trump is erratic and unfit to lead and probably belongs on the sex offender registry.
And Biden is in such poor health he can barely put a sentence together and can't remember world leaders' name and names of people in his own cabinet. He referred to Ukrainian President Zelensky as "President Putin" at the NATO Summit and referenced to "Vice President Trump" instead of VP Harris. He called Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin "the black man" when he couldn't remember Austin's name during an interview with BET.
He never should have ran in 2020, the Democratic candidate should have been someone younger and in better health like Kamala.

Thankfully I don't put stock into the opinions of strangers on the Internet. None. It's why I respond with humor. Judging me by calling me names without knowing anything about me or the 74 million Trump voters says more about your character than mine. I enjoy a good political discussion based on substance. But I won't argue with someone who calls me names. Political talk should be a discussion not an argument.

If I could like this message more times, I would. And you're right about not getting anywhere arguing with a cultist. A conservative is one thing, but being all in for a proven con artist, sexual predator, misogynist, bigot, ignorant, wannabe authoritarian (did you hear him today asking "Christians" to vote just one more time and they'll never have to vote again? Awful) just because you don't understand how the world economy works, and you don't know your own history, is quite another thing altogether.

I do my best to get along with Trump supporters and to respect their choice to support him. I cannot vote for someone who has so little respect for women though. I supported Clinton in 2016 for similar reasons and just think Trump is unqualified.
I actually feel the same way about Biden as I do about Trump. I didn't vote for him in 2020 (voted for the Green Party candidate Howie Hawkins), disagreed with Obama (supported Obama in 2008 and 2012) choosing him for VP, and disliked him as a primary candidate in 2008. I think Biden has been very condescending to President Obama and African-Americans generally. I also didn't like the way Biden lied about his past positions on same-sex marriage.
Harris called him out during the 2020 primaries, which I liked. I consider myself a moderate, and I think Harris' record as Attorney General, District Attorney, and Senator are not extreme.
As far as gas prices go, we need to be encouraging automobile manufacturers to make more fuel efficient cars and setting up programs to help get the prices on the hybrid and electric vehicles down. I'd love to get a hybrid, but cars cost 2-3 times as much now as what I paid for my Toyota Yaris in 2009, which I got with rebate from Obama's "Cash for Clunkers" program.

I am a special education teacher. I work with kids who have various disabilities. I love it. I've been married 23 years with three kids. Mariah fan since 1993.
Ok politics, this will be my one and only post. When Trump announced he was running for president, I was like oh heck no. I didn't want Trump as the Republican nominee. I knew Hilary Clinton would be the Democrat nominee and I did not want her as president. I was so sure if Trump ran against Hilary, she would win. I was so sick and tired of the establishment running the show (i.e. Bush family, Clintons, etc). When Trump shockingly won in 2016, I was hopeful he would do a good job. I voted for him because I felt he stuck to his word. The border was secure. Unemployment was at all time lows for all races, especially in the black community. China was having to even put their trade practices with the US. Trump was walking into North Korea for crying out loud. Historic. Look up the Abraham Accords that Trump orchestrated between Arab nations and Israel. Gas prices were low, inflation too. I do not want to pay high gas prices. I have a family to feed. My opinion of Trump changed because I liked where "the ball was landing so to speak". Contrast Trump's four years with Biden. There's no question who I want back in office. Do I like Trump personally? Not really. But I liked the job he did as president. We get on Trump's escapades with women. Look up Harris' connection with Willie Brown and Montel Williams. Look at her record not what the media tells you. I'm a staunch conservative but not a blind follower. I don't belong to either party. I go by the guy who fits my bottom line, what affects my pocketbook, and the guy who I think will help me lower my costs is Trump. Peace. (If you read all that, bless you.)

"Miraculously she will soon be able to sing again and then a new album and book will be released about her struggles and then she's laughing all the way to the bank." To be so callus about a life threatning condition with no cure that triggers when she is doing something that brings her joy, is honesty horrible. I would hope that is there is nobody in the world who, after watching her actually have a seizure and what it looks like, would ever have the momentary flash of genuine thought that she would be "laughing all the way to the bank". What a careless, heartless comment to make and you should be ashamed.

I hope she will and I hope the new album will be Glitter 2 sounds. Disco vibe. I just love that album and I think she is going to revamp it.

Go and check out Mariah's latest Instagram post where she shows us all the different vocals sung in Heartbreaker. I always knew how involved MC was in the creation of every part of her songs. But to see something visual really hammers home how truly talented, a once in a generation talent, Mariah Carey. Wow. Just wow.
