About MusicfanJ from Germany: I'm a fan of Mariah since Daydream came out.

Re: Burning bridges (96,702) (96,705) by MusicfanJ from Germany
I do believe she "burns bridges" completely. It's often easier and sometimes it can be the only way. But as you write sometimes it's good not to break completely. It's difficult. With time comes a feeling what to do. If "everything fades away" it's very sad hurtful.

"Ariana's voice is nothing" compared to a lot of other great singers. I like Jennifer Hudson, she will sound wonderful for sure.

Re: Exact lyrics (96,646) (96,648) by MusicfanJ from Germany
"The tone and power of her voice was out of this world." Absolutely yes. The intro of "One night" makes me want to listen to it again and again. Her Daydream voice was kind of magical.

Re: Underneath The Stars video (96,619) (96,626) by MusicfanJ from Germany
The song and the video makes me very nostalgic too. Daydream made me a fan so I can just love the video. I like the innocent princess vibe and the backstage scenes. The casual base cap is very sweet on her too. She was so young then, looks like baby MC. Haha. I had to laugh a little about the sign in the concert hall: David Bowie, Neil Young and Celine Dion.

Stacey (96,625) by MusicfanJ from Germany
Stacey I'm sorry to hear that with your husband. I hope he gets well soon. I don't have anxiety but I'm afraid of the pandemic since February. I also wish the Americans good luck with the new president. As an European I will just say I like how Mr. Biden talks and most of us here in Germany are happy with the vote. I used to be in an German-American friendship Club so I know how divided the opinions can be. I guess it's the same in almost every other country with the politics. I enjoy your posts like most of the messages here. But the behavior from some posters reminds me of kindergarten.

I like Wise Girls too. Best movie with MC. That women trio was nice to watch, the role of Mariah in the movie fitted very well. The music ist also so good. "Make it go away", love the song.

Yes I agree with Will on everything about Mariah's acting too. But not with Marilyn. She was one of the greatest, a real natural talent. I just watched "River of no return" and the acting was great. She wasn't only a sex-symbol, she was a great and stunning actress. But she was underrated by many because of her beauty and sex-appeal.

Re: Mariah Carey season (96,497) (96,499) by MusicfanJ from Germany
That's cool. Enjoy the turkey and the tree. I'm a little sad because the Christmas time can't be celebrated like last year, with meeting friends because of the pandemic, but I'll do the best to have it festive. Decoration everywhere, MC's music everywhere, many cookies and a lot of hot glühwein (mulled wine).

Re: Where I Belong should be a single (96,472) (96,476) by MusicfanJ from Germany
Here in Germany will be no clubbing too. We have a new "lockdown light" on monday for at least one month. And definitily no Christmas market which is for me harder than if the clubs are closed. What a sad time. I think I'll play a lot of "Miss you most (at Christmas time)" this year. Stay save everyone. And to the American lambs/fans I wish "Happy Halloween"/nice holiday. I love the pumpkins and the Indian Summer which we have right now too here.

Nice surprise. It sounds pretty good. Laid back RNB. That should be "charts friendly" worldwide.

That could be. I just wished that the relationship is true. Because he seems kind-hearted, but who knows. Yes, I noticed the pic with Rae Rae and Mark Sudack. He seemed to be just like a good distraction, nothing more. No words about him at all. Meanwhile Luis Miguel has his own chapter.

Re: Another book review (96,444) (96,448) by MusicfanJ from Germany
Yes, I feel similary. The childhood chapter felt honest and heartbreaking. The stuff about the family even more sad, also she were talking about some things before. The chapter about moving to NYC at the end of the 80ies was exerciting. I think the sing sing chapter wasn't a surprise for most of her fans either. I enjoyed "the story" about Derek Jeter and all the great songs he inspired her. Her love for Christmas and Marilyn Monroe was also nice to read. The few words about Nick Cannon says a lot too. I was surprised that Mr. Tanaka hasn't got an own chapter. That she didn't talk about Stella and that time is understandable. Too embarassing also I still wonder why that happened at all? One member of MCA was wondering about the Christmas song with Pat. I thought they same, it makes little sense to do a song with her, if she was so bad to her. The epiloge was nice, that everyone should protect their dreams. I would have added "and check sometimes if it's still your dream because it can change". Just a few thoughts after reading TMOMC. Plus I love the pictures inside of the book.

Re: Jazz album (96,432) (96,437) by MusicfanJ from Germany
LOB is also constantly on my mind. The band is superb as is her freestyling. I'm a huge Jazz fan anyway and I'm pretty sure if Mariah would do an jazz album a lot of people would buy it. Her current voice is predestined for it. She could record some classics and a few own jazzy songs. A Jazz album is more needed than another Christmas album (in my opinion).

TMOMC / the expressions (96,404) by MusicfanJ from Germany
I'm on the last chapter of the book. I know that's not interesting but I'm wondering about the many f... in the book. It's unpleasant to read that expression on so many sides. The three chapters were okay but somehow very depressive. I hope the last chapter is a bit "lighter". Of course it's non-fiction but after reading it, it leaves me a bit unquestionably. So to do a list for "The Rarities" will be a good idea.

Re: Firecracker Loverboy vs Cameo Loverboy vs Remix Lo (96,366) (96,368) by MusicfanJ from Germany
Firecracker is my choice. The cameo version is good too, but Firecracker has a better beginning, stronger chorus and it feels like an endless party. It really makes you want to dance. Singing dadadada.

Chapter Princess Prisoner (96,199) by MusicfanJ from Germany
Hi everyone. I'm still reading TMOMC. I had to laugh so hard at the sentence: "My taste learned more Hollywood and hers was more old Woodstock." That's truly Mariah telling. Lol. Is anyone still reading the book? I would love to read some more book reviews on MCA.

Re: Trash (96,124) (96,139) by MusicfanJ from Germany
The "funny" thing is nobody here would think Mariah is black. Most of the people who are not fans doesn't even know she's mixed. Maybe that bothers her, I don't know. She's a beautiful woman with the most beautiful smile and eyes. #10] Perfect genes.

Re: Trash (96,070) (96,077) by MusicfanJ from Germany
Yes that could be a reason. Well no matter if it was disrepectful from Celine Dion or not, I think we can all agree that on that night it was really a Divas night. I also love Aretha by the way, I just watched a docu called "Soul Sister" which was interesting. Todd, I'll drink an Australian Chardonnay tonight. Greetings from a German wine region. One needs variety.

Re: Trash (96,039) (96,044) by MusicfanJ from Germany
"But Celine sang equally as well as Aretha because she's a rude white woman and *that* makes the book. Trash/" I haven't read this chapter yet, but it's indeed annoying if Celine Dion is criticized that way. She was always nice to Mariah. Nobody is usually listening to music because of an ethnicity. A good voice is a good voice. Are we living in the 50ies? Of course it's all a matter of taste with music but to say Celine was doing wrong at the concert is ridiculous. That concert was great, every singer did her best.

Re: TMOMC - #1 New York Times best seller (96,021) (96,022) by MusicfanJ from Germany
Congratulations MC. This makes me happy. It's so deserverd for the intimate memoir she's sharing. I have to read the book slowly, because I have to translate unknown vocabulary but I love to read every chapter of the book. It makes me admire her even more.

Re: The Meaning of Mariah Carey (95,952) (95,993) by MusicfanJ from Germany
I started to read the memoir too. The "wayward child" chapter is quite soul-stirring. I was thinking the whole evening about some things. To listen to "Petals" will be hard the next time. But I'm excited to read more. I like that the songs are included with explainings. Very interesting.
