About 123 from USA:

Duet With Ja Rule prevented a sophomore slump (65,924) by 123 from USA
So Lopez's team admitted to knowing that Mariah sampled the same song. So no more "she didn't know" comments about Mariah being petty saying maybe La Lopez didn't know. With "I don't know her" seemingly not going anywhere, especially with the birth of "I still don't know her" don't expect Mariah to do anything with JLo soon. JLo's team is so smart for finally addressing it like this. Ashanti even admitted they kept her vocals, but supposedly taking off her leads, hmm. Thoughts anyone? Is anyone's minds changed after reading this?

Re: Beacon Theatre 2016 (65,897) (65,906) by 123 from USA
I don't know but I think this short clip of her singing Charlie Brown Christmas in Vegas on 9/3/16 is a good indication she's going to do it this year. Her whisper register sounds better than the record here.

August 28th Vegas moments (65,893) by 123 from USA
Yay to continued improved vocals and more stripping back some pre-records on another song. Here is Mariah singing the first verse of Fantasy live again and she sounds good. How long has it been since she sung that part live? This is my favorite TGIFY performance on this leg. She even did a little scatting. Her belts sound so full and rich. And of course she did another great performance of My All on the 28th. She has a lot of great moments from the 28th.

It's Like That Vegas (65,891) by 123 from USA
I really like this performance. She finally ditched "Crapfinity" for a throwback. I hope she keeps replacing the song with others. I like how Mariah agrees with how her promo shot is supposed to look like here.

Re: Article: Mariah Carey and Jennifer Lopez together on stage? (65,835) (65,867) by 123 from USA
this_is_qhm. I love how you got MTV together with your post. If I could give your post 100 up posts I would. Mariah has no new music to promote so why do it? MTV and Jennifer would be the only ones to benefit since JLo is promoting that horrible "Ain't Yo Mama" and MTV needs ratings for their failing awards show. Once they took away the focus on music and stopped making shows that the artists could come on, it lost its appeal. They never gave Mariah an award anyway. She only got TRL awards in 2006 for her videos going number one on their show which are voted on by the viewers. Did you see the article celebrating the anniversary of I'm Real? They finally admit that they knew Mariah sampled Firecraker as well and dismissed it in two sentences as a "coincidence" and kept it moving. JLo's team is smart. They finally addressed it as just a mere coincidence and nothing else. I wonder what Mariah's response would be to the way that story was told. JRule having access to Tommy's jet because they needed the song released asap. Why in such a hurry? They admit in the article had it not been for the remix (Mariah's ideas) Jennifer would have suffered a sophomore slump. Things that make you go give a crazy side eye.

Hi B. She mentioned Michael's Butterflies in her Complex interview. Such an underrated song and I'd love for her to cover it. I like your idea.

Re: Will Mariah extend her Vegas residency? (65,786) (65,847) by 123 from USA
Well her two year contract is up, so that's good news because if she re-signs, hopefully it will be next year when she has new music so she can perform a whole new show and not be tied to the #1s. It was so nostalgic to hear her sing the first 4 singles as she hardly gives the other 3 the time of day, but I'm ready for a show where she implements rare songs and more uptempos. So I'm all for a new Vegas show with a different theme.

Thanks Deedre I appreciate that. I love your post as well and how hard you go for Mariah. I'm on the same boat with you. I focus on what has improved as I come here to escape life's dramas.

Thank you Haiji Toro. She respects Madonna and even though Madonna started the shade in the past and they are still competitive with each other, I believe they have left the past behind. Here is Madonna saying she likes Mariah's new record (TMB). Just for you.

From my observation its VOL, IBT, OSD, and TGIFU that are completely live. You can always check thediaryofMariahCarey. They only post the live moments.

No problem Licia. I love your posts by the way. One of my favorite people here. Do you go to thediaryofMariah page on YouTube? They have been documenting all her performances this year and post highlights of only the live parts. It's been nice to see her evolution from the February Vegas leg, to the tour, the June Leg, and this final one. Did you see this latest My All video? So good. Just get rid of the pre-records that come in the beginning of the last two choruses. No need for them anymore. Her live vocals sound so good here. The people are actually cheering for her here. When I went last year in July, everyone was quiet. I like how the guy at the end said "wow". Can you image if her singing this song would be televised? If she keeps taking care of her voice and sounding this good, we might just get one more great tv performance once she has new music. I'm so over her having these moments here because of her relying on pre-record moments.

Re: Boobies and butts and turbans era (65,737) (65,772) by 123 from USA
No problem Ribbon. I'm glad you enjoyed it. Her few sentences said a whole lot and I think summed up what happened. Mariah was too much woman, too much of everything for young Nick to handle. He had his way with this one and that one but being in a relationship with a mature woman proved to be too much. She basically said he needs more experience before dealing with a woman like "Butterfly". Lol.

Re: The Emancipation Of Mimi evokes feelings of nostalgia (65,767) (65,770) by 123 from USA
I hated the Neptune produced tracks on the Mimi album and thought they were the weakest tracks on the album. The beats they gave her were sub-par and you know they gave her those whack beats to get some quick cash on a deep pocket star whom they figured would never chart in the top ten again. I know Pharrell was kicking himself that he didn't give Mariah a "Can't Rely on you" by Paloma Faith or a "Happy" once she became 2005's chart queen with multiplatinum sales by the end of the year. She gave up production credits for the first time in 14 years for those tracks? I'm sure if he works with her again he knows now to give her the best of what he has to offer. Jermaine's remix of Say Somethin makes the original hide under a table in embarrassment as the lyrics actually come alive on the remix and she is actually singing.

Re: Vegas has made Mariah a better performer (65,763) (65,769) by 123 from USA
Did you take it personally when I said the board has become negative? Last I checked you did't represent the board as a whole, yet you do have a way of swaying the mood here. You should be quite proud. Or maybe you're upset because I stopped feeding you. What's absurd is you talking about a topic you know nothing about. Practicing in the shower when you've had splashes and don't sleep aren't doing to do any good. Mariah isn't disciplined to stay in good voice when she isn't required to perform consistently. When she did perform these little one offs her live vocals were always scratchy, limited, and strained. Vegas might have saved her career as she is not having to discipline herself to make sure she is ready to sound good enough live, so if the engineer f*cks up the pre-record, she can improvise vocally on the spot. If she stays booked, we can finally look forward to a great tv performance again. Since she started Vegas she's only cancelled one gig and you haven't heard anymore cases of "bronchitis" that she seemed to always get before. She has even started to slowly remove some pre-records like the beginning of the second Honey verse for example. No more embarrassing performances like Rockefeller in 2014 or Jamaica. All you'll do is fire all her black staff which would include her so that would never work. Stay in your lane behind the bar and service your regulars.

Re: Vegas has made Mariah a better performer (65,738) (65,746) by 123 from USA
I interrupt the regular scheduled program of negativity and Mariah bashing (not judging, just calling it as I see it) to continue the My All series/postings. Revealing Vegas promo pics, photo shop booties, bralettes, none of it really matters to me as much as Mariah working on her live vocals. Its her day job these days and should really be one of her only concerns regardless if she is standing there in some questionable outfit. Here is Mariah attempting to reach old notes by the 3rd day of the latest leg. Resting her voice was never what she needed. She needed to get out there and perform consistently.

Re: Boobies and butts and turbans era (65,717) (65,721) by 123 from USA
So this whole bra era I thought was just Mariah trying to make another trend happen a la low ride jeans in the Heartbreaker video. Why did I see a commercial for bralettes and the models are all wearing them under little jackets etc saying they would "totally wear" them to a party. "This is my everyday outfit." Watch this. I'm like, so this is really a thing? Did you see Debbie Allen's response as to why he went back to school? Debbie is very quick witted, I love her shade. Lol. "Butterfly was a handful, she was the garden and he was the gardner." Watch this.

Re: RJJ12 (65,571) (65,610) by 123 from USA
Hi Will, thanks for your post. I agree completely that her voice now sounds a lot better than the Rainbow era. I was referring to just her tone. When here voice was in decent shape during that era, she focused on singing in that honey/silky tone she is famous for and stayed away from belting. Her tone is very honey/silky like again like during that era. Her belts are so much better. While she still avoids her high belts, her mid belts went from non-existent, to dry and brief, to now sounding full and resonant. She has never been this consistent vocally since the 90's and seems to slowly get better. I guess her having to perform more has lit a fire under her to finally start caring for that voice more often. I can't wait to hear how she sounds in the final Vegas leg and her SA leg of her tour. Let me not forget the Beacon Theater. Someone should make a video showcasing the evolution of her voice this era.

Re: Article: "American Idol" contestants react to Mariah Carey (65,518) (65,569) by 123 from USA
Giovanni, I love you, but we must have not been watching the same show. His talent is marginal as with most of those kids performing on these talent competitions. These are folks you can find walking in a mall. Maybe his looks can get him a modeling contract but I wouldn't hold my breath for a record contract. Did you see what he said about Mariah in the exit interview video I posted, you might change your mind.

Re: New Vegas leg wish list and B-sides show (65,517) (65,568) by 123 from USA
Hi Sheila, yes it's been 80% live since forever. She lips the same parts. I'm ok with the first chorus being lipped as she needs time to catch her breath and come in big on the second verse like she has been doing lately, but the lipped belting parts need to go. I don't mind them anymore but her live voice outshines her lipped parts on the song which I didn't think I would ever see the day that would happen again. If you watch her live 99 version of My All from her Chicago concert from her Rainbow tour, she doesn't go for the F5 belts either, but just improvises and instead uses the rest of what she has access to still give a great performance. It's actually my favorite My All performance of the 90s. I agree with the B side concert needing to happen like since forever, but up until this year, I don't think she was capable of delivering those songs effectively. I do need Can't Let Go in full again, it's my favorite ballad of hers. Even though it's partially lipped, I love LTT in Vegas. I never thought she would do that song again.

Re: Article: "American Idol" contestants react to Mariah Carey (65,545) (65,567) by 123 from USA
Lazaro is a shady, mean spirited individual. I'm sure he got picked on as a kid, but your disability doesn't excuse you from just being a decent individual. Not everyone in the world is out to pick on him. You can't be on a televised singing contest, not prepare at all (he said he never prepared his songs), do badly and not have it pointed out. Mariah was trying her best to be nice to him and tell him he kept singing in the same key when there was a key change in the bridge of the song. He was just riding the wave and didn't take winning seriously and had excuses after excuses. He waited until they got backstage to shade Mariah by telling her she had her bad songs as well, remember Glitter? Really? Loverboy went #2 and the Glitter album is multiplatinum. It's funny because when Mariah talked about his being courageous for being on the show, he said he preferred to be critiqued about his performance, yet when she did just that, he sunk his shady claws in her backstage. So she can't win with him. Which is it Lazaro, you want constructive criticism or you want people to only tell you nice things? She walked on egg shells when she critiqued him yet he still was disrespectful to her. Yet she's the one called a diva. Where is your music since you're so great? I missed your song on the charts. Mariah's flops would be dream numbers for him. Here is his exit interview (my receipts) of him shading Mariah throughout the whole thing.

Re: Stella take note (65,540) (65,566) by 123 from USA
I agree Marissa. I was confused as well. She hasn't sounded this good this consistently since the 90's and even then she didn't do as many shows/tours as she has this year. Before I was always holding my breath as to what vocal state she was going to be in and how bad she was going to sound. Her tone is very Rainbow era now (sweet and honey like) and her vocals are very smooth and fluid. She has even started belting again. She is just missing her upper belts and whistle register but I'm good with her continuing to tour as she seems to really take her vocals seriously and seems to want regain what she has lost previously. Can't wait to hear how she sounds for this latest Vegas run and especially her SA leg of her tour as she had a lot of great vocal moments on her European leg.

Re: LA Reid's tweet (65,541) (65,565) by 123 from USA
The world doesn't revolve around Mariah. That tweet sounds like he is referring to someone who has been begging him to sign them and he keeps telling them no. They have no reason to drop her anyway as she has already gave them another compilation album (1#s to Infinity) that she promoted more than her last two albums combined. Plus, she is releasing new music very soon so that doesn't sound likely.

New Vegas leg wish list (65,509) by 123 from USA
With this last leg of Mariah projects that starts off a series of projects that will keep her busy until early next year, I have a couple of wishes for this latest leg in Vegas.
1. I would like her to pull more of the playback back, especially on the ballads. My All should be sung completely live at this point. With her putting in work to sound better, she can do this song and improvise the notes like she did in 1999. Same with Always Be My Baby. Switch it up. Improvise more and pull back on the pre-records like here.
2. They announced she would be doing a new song in this latest leg. I tend to not believe all these promises as they don't ever seem to materialize, but I would settle for an elusive album cut that never got its chance like Melt Away, The Roof, or even YDKWTD from the last album (Faded would be to hard). Thoughts?
