I love the new billboard cover. There are few times were she gets tastefully sexy right and she did just enough here. It looks like an album cover. Way better than the MIAM cover. Very Never Too Far single cover. Marissa, the uncomfortable feeling you get is because of the unnatural pose. No one lays with their hand wrapped around their head, that is, unless you are Mariah. I love Bette Midler's response to the billboard ban. Lol. She was on JP's boat with Mariah not to long ago.

Mariah speech at event honouring U.N Secretary (65,229)
by 123 from USA

Cute and funny speech lol. I think she looked the best she has ever looked in a long time lol. I guess I'm so used to her having them out now it doesn't bother me lol. Everyone is talking about how inappropriate it is to have them out at this event, but did you see the U.N Secretary make a b line towards her at the end of the speech lol. He was like move over Larry, it's my night and I want to be next to Mariah and take pictures lol. I'm sure he doesn't mind the bra era at all lol. He is paying his wife no mind in this picture with Mariah lol.

Empire (65,099)
by 123 from USA
| |
|
|
So she is playing a singer named Kitty. I love it. Lee got her to play herself, it will probably be an exaggerated version. Shawn did confirm that Mariah would be releasing a new song this year. Maybe it's a song on Empire. Please no Jussie duets, his goat sounding vocals give me a head ache. He is always singing in that goal sounding falsetto. He seems to have no idea what singing in your "full voice" means. He would probably sound better.

Ribbon you made some really good points and you always bring a perspective and receipts no one else does. I also respect your opinion. I do think you answered your own question though, Mariah needs a present day platform to have resurgence in her career and Packer definitely needs the money. I was really just discussing Mariah's career but you touched on something much deeper. Regardless of whether her relationship with him is genuine or not, there is a business arrangement between the two of them. He is definitely on the Mariah train betting on a financial comeback. Remember this article I posted a while ago? His 2 billion Alon project in Vegas is on hold. Here is another article where they had to sell Crown Resorts. He is losing money. In terms of her career is a big reward, however, you are correct, in terms of her life, finances, safety, and happiness, I just don't trust this connection. Maybe I'm wrong. If it doesn't work, we know she will fire Stella. Anytime there is a project failure, years of service nor decades of friendship saved Randy or Jermaine from getting the axe.

The reason why she is trying to differentiate it from calling it a "reality show" is because the people that are usually cast in reality shows are talentless hacks with no real careers being filmed doing the most mundane things like eating salads, gossiping about each other, and then having big blow ups with each over only to make up and then fight again. Manufactured drama. At least Mariah is being filmed touring, sounding and looking great and selling out arenas. None of these reality stars have the talent, catalog, or intelligence to obtain a fraction of Mariah's success. She said during the Complex interview that she realizes that times have changed in regards to garnering attention. If sure she feels that if these reality stars can garner enough attention to have successful ventures where they are only slapping their name on all these products and demand they be considered "talented", she can play the same game, be a hell of a lot more entertaining, and push her music.

New Mariah's World promo (64,947)
by 123 from USA
| |
|
|
I actually like this promo a lot more. I love that she is poking fun at her "diva demands", did she say albino elephant? The man said they will get Noah's ark for her wedding. Lol. Behind some of the luxury set up shots Mariah comes of very normal to me. It's very clear from the promo that the "diva" is clarified as an "act" for comedic effect. Can't wait to watch. The press has been tweeting positive things about today's press conference and I'm glad she is schmoozing them by gifting them champagne, chocolates, music, and a show. If you going to promote a luxury lifestyle might as well show its nothing to share a little piece of it with everyone else.

I might be the minority but I love the SSFT SA tour pic. She looks good and she wasn't airbrushed to the size of a tooth pic. I have no complaints. The Mariah's World pic is ok, not bad or good, just ok. Nobody cares about these things other than the lambs. Pics aren't going to matter to the general public with Mariah, if the material and promo lack, the general public won't bite. These pics are definitely a step up from the "You Dont Know What to Do" single cover or the unrecognizable #1s To Infinity cover.

Re: Mariah's World update (64,918) (64,942)

Thanks Stacie. December is the perfect time. I get they were promoting it initially but I think they were waiting on whether they could book the SA Leg of the tour. Summer would have been a bad time as everyone is outside enjoying the weather. The fall would been a bad choice as well as all the major shows that pull all the ratings come back and it would have gotten buried. In December, everyone is inside. She dominates that month with AIWFCIY. I think it was smart as the can book her promotional spots and promote all things Mariah from Christmas music, to the Beacon Theater, Mariah's World, and hopefully (fingers crossed) a new song. I think they are planning to do a Mariah onslaught on promoting all these projects simultaneously. She has a better chance of success as December is the month Mariah takes over. If she could book a Rockefeller performance with her revived vocals it could garner more press and interest in all things Mariah. I would like her to do a acapella number or a stripped down version focusing on her live vocals. An 8 episode show would run throughout December and January. Then her first Halmark Special in February. Hoping for a surprise album release in the spring. This is make or break for Stella not Mariah. If 2014 isolated vocals didn't destroy her career, a docu-series won't. Just my thoughts.

I wouldn't call this a MIAM marketing nightmare just yet Mimi L. I believe they decided to push it back once she added the SA leg of her tour. She won't have time to promote it in the fall if she is on tour. I believe they are going to capitalize on her Christmas music to promote along with the show. In December they do a bunch of re-runs so I'm guessing the show will be on repeat on the E channel. I don't know if this is an attempt to try to push AIWFCIY to number 1 since it hit #11 last year, push a new song, or both simultaneously. Thoughts?

Why would I email you when the whole point is you get to post without censorship while I am not allowed the same privilege. You started in with me when unprovoked since you first came on this board so now you have to deal with me. You trying to spin that me stating the photo isn't a candid because of how unrealistic the colors look has anything to do with race? Nice try. You tend to make things up as I remember (I did write the post) never bringing up the flag and only discussing you. My issues with you have nothing to do with the UK. You're upset because I've called out the game you play, over and over again. That's why you had to do a low blow and show your racist views by calling me Latifah. I'm not even black. Lol. I'm sure all minorities are the same to you. I've got plenty of people in my family with fair skin, dark blond hair, and blue eyes, you are right, racists wouldn't live by me. I have a nice 5 bedroom in the city. I have a career. Don't believe because I'm a minority that I can't have a nice place, a career, and a family with a mixure of races including white. You are a bar tender. You say I'm not that smart, I'm smarter than you. I saw through the trolling and noticed your pattern and let the board know what was up. Why would I trust you with having my email address when as long as I get the same privilege you do, then I will continue to post and you will continue to deal. You can handle it can't you?

I loved this video. She is having fun and is sharing the karaoke stage with someone else. Isn't that the point of karaoke? Having fun? I remember someone asking Mariah in an interview if she would ever do karaoke. She said she would but people would expect her to sing her songs and sound perfect and take all the fun out of just going up there and having a good time instead of judging her. I guess she was right.

I Still Believe/Pure Imagination ft. Da Brat live (64,791)
by 123 from USA
| |

I didn't know she sang this live? How amazing would it be if she did an obscure song or remix again. Just let the back track play and sing over it. It might not have been perfect but what a treat to hear. I would love for her to do more of this on the next leg of her tour. I get she can't change the Vegas setlist but the tour should have more random moments. Forget these snippets, sing a full rare song. It doesn't have to be perfect at all, I think everyone would love it. What's a super rare song you all want her to tackle on the next leg of her tour? We got Loverboy and When You Believe. I need a live, full version of The Roof.

You don't know how to airbrush? I'm sure you know how to use a filter on your smartphone. Fools can figure out how to use them so I'm sure you're a pro. You are really trying to pass that pic as a candid? With those unnatural colors that do not exist in the real world? Or maybe in a Complex Magazine world? No dark roots you say, it's the "lighting". I didn't know lighting could make dark hair blond and vice versa. Let me try, nope, still dark. It's ok, in the words of Bianca, "You keep pretending, and we'll keep believing."

Complex and Clash (64,740)
by 123 from USA

Both great promotional pieces. While one article seemed more fluff, the other was what we have all been salivating for, a real interview. It was like she returned to form. I love that she sang during the interview (proving her talent), talked about other artists (2Pac, The Weeknd, Michael Jackson, Prince), I still wish she got to do a song with 2Pac. I read that he played her debut album over and over again to the point where people questioned why he did, "Man, you wouldn't understand." 2Pac was a lamb. I love the inclusion of the comments of other musical collaborators discussing her musicality. I love how they just quietly snuck in that she's been working on the album since the beginning of the summer like she said she would. I wonder if she will record again during the August leg of her residency like she did in June. Maybe call the album "The Vegas Sessions". Confirming that even Michael was stifled in the Sony days to only make big mainstream records. Her finally discussing how she creates music again. Her guiding each producer to the sound she wants them to create. Her recognizing that it's a different musical landscape and how money is made now versus the 90s. She really is doing everything she should be doing as an artist. Promotion, insightful interviews, new pics, touring, side projects (Hallmark), and recording new music. Here is hoping she has music ready to release to coincide with the docuseries. Good job Illumi, I mean Stella and Co. Lol.

Sorry and not sorry (64,654)

Travon, I want to apologize to you for everything I said. I went too far on a devoted fan and even though I took offense to what you said, I shouldn't have went in like that. I hope that you come back to the board. I know you said you don't need me to help defend you, I just hated how you were being spoken to and here I am, being a big hypocrite lashing out at you as well. I just hate how goldie locks tend to pick on the the same 4 people over and over again (you, Mimi L, B, and Giovanni) or anyone else he considers easy targets. So I tend to reply to him for people when he thinks he has got them pinned in a corner. Maybe one day, if you are in the city, if you accept my apology, we can even hang out. Moving on to the canary of the board. One tends to wonder how you would start a petition regarding photoshop when you pic is air brushed to the gawds and your dark roots are peaking out from that platinum blond. Someone seems to have more in common with Mariah then they care to admit. Even Mishka would do a better job. Mimi L, put your beauty blender down. He woke up like that.

I will read you anytime of the day and you will deal. My education level? Darling I have what you are striving for. Degrees (plural) graduated Cum Laude, dont know what that is, go look it up. I'm in the City while you are in Indiana. I have a career and you make a career of being a Mariah fan. You said all that and missed the point. I didn't sign the petition either, it I'm not on social media nor do I care if she addresses the fans but I will support a good lamb because I know her heart is in the right place. You dissed Marissa and Mimi L and said the other board is classier but yet you still come here, still, and agree with Andrew. I could care less that you've been here two years. I'm going to need you to set your Flesch Kincaid on your Microsoft word and keep typing and using an online thesaurus and when it indicates that you have written something at the 12th grade level, you may reply. Other than that, stay in your lane and know your place. If you missed what I just did, I just removed the piece of gum from the bottom of my Nike sneaker and handed it to you, chew on this.

Funny how the one that always bitching is now complaining about a complaint. But that is your platform here so go figure. She could stop lipping tomorrow and you'd complain about how horrible she sounds live. You are the red herring of this board. I think you and Travon missed the whole point of Marissa's petition. It's less to do with the current use of social media and more to do with Mariah reconnecting with her fans like she used to and simply using her social media to do it. Her post was eloquently written minus any disparaging remarks about anyone. Travon it's rude and hypocritical of you to say that there are classier people on the UKMix board and then agree with blondie when you were obviously throwing a not so subtle dig at him by saying that. Considering they had the original thread locked proves my point that they get infested with trolls as well. Marissa obviously picked a topic that can be easily changed. The topics you mentioned are just rude as hell minus the meet and greets that any prudent person would know to bring those up in a private and not public forum. If you want to see her perform, why not go to Vegas? Mariah's US tours don't do well, why would she try to tour here when there is not a demand. Why not support her in Vegas? Didn't she do a meet and greet at her home and gave a fan her 1990 necklace and sang for them during the promo for You're Mine? She even sang a snippet of Slipping Away I thought. Now that would have been great to film for her show.

I wrote something similar not to long ago. I miss some of the old regulars like Stephen from the UK. What happened to him? He got into it with someone that doesn't even post anymore and left and never came back. It's like we lost some good posters and gained a lot of messy ones in exchange. There are still plenty of good hearted people who post. There have been a lot of newbies posting lately and I hope it continues, especially the folks that usually just come here and observe.

I think she did fat transfers to her face. This was written about around late 2008. The gossips claim Mariah had cool sculpting done late last year before the Thanksgiving Day parade and if Kris claims he had it done then it might be true. Her arms need to be toned up. To be fair I did see pics of her on the boat with her trainer working on her arms, she knows it's a flaw and good for her for trying to fix the issue the old fashion way instead of going under.

He did but the Gavin Christopher hook up went nowhere as he pitched her to Capital Records and they didn't bite (probably the company that said she sounded too much like Whitney). Ben was cool but she didn't need him after all. If their mom didn't visit her then there has to be more than what they are saying, private family stuff maybe. I believe the fall out with most of her family happened when she decided to cut everyone off. I'm sure Morgan, like everyone else, was riding on the Mariah Money train. Hell, people are still riding that train, just new passengers. Her people claim Mariah has supported her family for over two decades so that makes sense if she cut them off around 2014. Seems like after her marriage she started fazing people out of her life, maybe hanger ons. Maybe she is pissed because she squandered the 1.6 million inheritance she received from her father. Morgan claims she put the money into trust funds for her two underage children but somehow I don't believe it all went into these trust funds. He's in France now with his wife isn't he, sounds like someone who isn't hard up on cash to help his ailing sister. He is still throwing digs at Mariah through twitter saying "Guess who is in the South of France and finally just tweeted? Three guesses." He's just pissed because Shawn's on the damn boat and he and his wife aren't.

The majority think she knew. B just used what everyone else has access to, the internet. Here is a receipt that Jennifer had to of known. I forgot about the ET interview where Mariah did actually come out and say that JLo ripped her off. Surely JLo had to of heard about the interview if she stated on Andy Cohen that she had "heard some things that she had said in the past". Plus, Benny was her manager first, then went to Mariah during 05-08 and when Mariah was hotter than ever, only to go back to JLo. You don't think Benny and JLo talked about it? It's odd that JLo's team has three songs during her career that we know of that were supposed to be for other artists.
