About Stacey from USA:
Been a fan since 1993. Favorite albums include Daydream, TEOM, and Music Box. I love a good discussion, but won't stand for hateful comments because we disagree. I am too old to deal with drama and so are you. Keep it real with me and we'll have some fun. Peace.

Greatest performance ever? (82,876)
by Stacey from USA
| |
|
|
I'm going to go a different route and say her appearance on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon. No, it's not your typical performance per se. She ad-libbed a lot and you could tell she was enjoying herself. With a typical performance, concert, etc., there is the opportunity to perfect the performance through dubbing, playback, etc. I guess she could have done it here too, but I doubt it.

Haha, I just laugh at it all. MC finally "woke up" and fired the leech. Now the leech actually has to earn her own money.

I agree. Mariah seemed herself with Kimmel. She seemed "all there" if ya'all know what I mean. Alive. Healthy. Funny. So many good reasons why I'm so happy Stella is in the rear view mirror. This was her best interview in a long time. She seemed grounded.

Long Ago and Melt Away (82,665)
by Stacey from USA
| |

I used to skip these songs. Nuts, right. I know, I'm nuts. Maybe my tastes have changed. I used to prefer songs like When I Saw You and Forever. I still do like them, but after I Am Free, I skip to Long Ago and Melt Away. Genius songs. Perfection.

Re: Article: Mariah Carey once hospitalized (81,959) (81,965)

Absolutely. Mariah got ahead of what she knew was coming if she didn't reveal her disorder. Stella wasn't going away quietly. Once MC did this, not allowing Stella the opportunity to drag MC through the mud, Stella is trying another way with all this silly lawsuit nonsense.

Mariah beat Stella to the punchline when she revealed her bipolar disorder before Stella could leak it. So now Stella is going to get her somehow by suing her? What a freakin' loser.

Cautiously optimistic (81,804)
by Stacey from USA
| |
|

I think Edward echos a lot of what many of us are feeling, even good ole Andrew as well. We are all cautiously optimistic. After the 2001 breakdown and lackluster sales of CB, MC put out TEOM, something so good, radio had to play it. Here's hoping she gets back to making good music. Cautiously optimistic.

As someone who has also battled mental illness, I completely understand. I'm proud of Mariah to admit this condition is a part of who she is. I kept my battles with anxiety and depression hidden. I was afraid to open up for fear of rejection and/or being vulnerable. When I finally opened up to my parents because I couldn't keep it hidden any longer, the weight lifted off my shoulders was huge. I got the help I needed and am doing fine today. I'm happy for Mariah. She'll get the help she needs and come back stronger than ever. She's got a great support system in Nick and her kids, even if she's not married to him anymore. You know he's got her back. Proud of you, Mariah. You've got this.

I love One Child. I remember playing the album in its entirety for the first time, one song after the other. That song was the first song I remember standing out to me. Yes, thank heavens for her Christmas albums.

CLG has those unique melodies, notes/phrases of music you don't hear anywhere else. The song is such a different sound to it then what was typically heard at the time. Truly an underated gem.

Re: CTTA Oprah (80,637) (80,638)
by Stacey from USA

Back in 2003, I attended the final night of the CB tour in So Cal. The song voted by the fans for her to sing that night was CTTA. The song was good but had never registered with me personally. I had been going through some crap around that time. People spreading rumors, gossiping, etc. Here I was dead center, 15 rows back. When she sang that line you quoted, something inside of me changed. I began to love those words and not care a flying crap what someone outside of me felt. My personal anthem is Looking In. Oh my...
