That photo is photo-shopped. The other photos show the true picture. She has not just "put on weight" - she is enormous. The worst thing about it, the most cringeworthy thing, is that her dancers have seemingly been choreographed to look her up and down every now and then and sort of "oooh" and act like she's hot and attractive. It's indicative of a lot that is wrong with her.

I used to like Rihanna but I struggle with the point of her now. I am lost as to what her talent actually is. I sing better than her. Mariah farts better than her. Judging by Mariah's face, she's farting better than her quite a lot.

Bloody hell, mate. A post about Mariah? Are you feeling alright, yourself? Normally you just bitch and moan about everybody not behaving in your holier-than-thou way.

"She just sort of... yells in tune I guess is one way of putting it" to quote a recent on-the-mark post. If you tell me that that strained slow shouting to TGIFY is nice to listen to then I would question either your hearing or your sanity. I've heard people burp the alphabet. It's great they can do it, for sure, but I'm not sure I'd willingly put myself through listening to it. However, on a more positive note, if she's going to sing Emotions properly again then I'll listen to that. Replacing the singing of "You got me feeling emotions" with blurting "Gummy feeling" changes the whole song for the worse. Not least because I'm quite certain songs about elderly felatio is not something anybody wants to hear.

Lordy me, Jamie. I wouldn't say you agree with me on here. You'll be forever hated. Incidentally, your segment on TFNP where you talk to Mariah is cute and brilliant. "Oh [censored] off, Jamie." I laugh every time.

Oh, just one more, I can't resist: you haven't been on this site for over a month? Check out the dates of your last posts. Let me equally as patronising: many people, as they grow up, learn that lies must be challenged and the truth must be reconciled. In fact, the truth must be accepted and spoken or the narrative has no merit. Gay Pride events being an example of that. Mariah is indeed one of the vocal greats, if not the greatest, in the modern era. But there are things going incredibly wrong. You can still rejoice in her music whilst being involved in the political debates surrounding her. I and others here have listened to Mariah Carey every day of my life since I was younger than you. If you want to be ageist then let me be equally as ageist: grow up, kid.

As I just posted, I kinda think it's possible the operation was already had; however, if it wasn't had, then she should have it. Nothing to lose. I can not believe she actually enjoys singing anymore - I'm sure everyone can see that it looks like it actually pains her, physically, to sing. And what you get from that is performances quite impossible to enjoy as a spectator because she doesn't want to do it. I'm posing the question genuinely: who is getting anything from this going on? Her legend is dying because of it, and has been for some time. Whereas I can accept a resolution to her career, others in here will talk their way through the truth and comfort themselves. Why is she continuing if she can't sing her own songs in their entirety, but, further, if what she does sing is painful? She can't possibly need the money. I think she has no identity outside of being told she's the best and being the adored star of whatever environment she is in. Thus, the Stella situation. I genuinely want to watch Mariah look good on stage, own it, be happy and sing well - and live. If she can't do it, then, what is the point?

Re: The truth (77,107) (77,145)
by Andrew from UK

Well, buddy, that's sort of what I was looking for: someone to post Mariah singing live that sounded good. To be honest, I turned it off after the word "night" being completely skipped. I do think the issue needs to be addressed because it has become quite severe. Can she actually genuinely do it? Lipping is second nature. I'm confused as to why her voice has deteriorated so much in the last five to eight years because she's hardly sung a difficult note. They're all lipped. But what she does actually sing is sounding increasingly worse. I can, I assume, like most people (save for the know-it-all-but-know-nothing teenagers) predict how she is going to sing a song as it's playing in front of me. I know that I'm going to hear "finally see the troo'ooth" instead of "finally see the truth", for example, and what it does is make the vocal sound jarring and amateurish. Why can't she sustain? Is it that hard? Things like "We're gonna linger on, we're gonna linger on" pale in comparison to what the original line is, sounding dull and uninspired but the original line shouldn't be that difficult for anyone who can actually speak the line. I'm not convinced surgery would work but then I'm no expert on the matter. But what's to lose? The whistle register? Who cares? Nobody pays to watch a concert sung in whistle. And since we know she lips those as well now (cue the finger to the ear and shaking of the head back and forth to make it look like something's happening) there is absolutely nothing to lose. Or perhaps she had it and what we have now is the result. Her next album should be Adele style in register and content I feel. Down to Earth, simple songs within a normal singing register. She seems to be clinging onto being "The Voice". But Mel B seems to be right: maybe it just isn't there anymore. Or perhaps she was talking about her own bank account.

Re: Biggest concern (77,027) (77,059)
by Andrew from UK

The maxim that Mariah's voice will "improve in later shows" is nonsense. She's perfectly capable of warming up, or singing at home, or in the shower, etc. Her voice is just damaged, even more so than it was a year ago. Drinking and (alleged) smoking probably weren't the cleverest of moves, and now she, and we, are reaping the results. Add to the drinking and smoking the seemingly blatant over-eating - that she is quite ginormous in size to the point where moving her body seems like an arduous task - and that her over-augmented breasts are heavy weights attached to her frame, and it doesn't make for anything like an entertaining show. The Richie fans are going to skin her alive. I'm surprised her own fans are not.

Randy, this may be the missing link you have been looking for: that grand unifying theory that links 1996 Mariah to 1997 Mariah. Is it possible that Mariah recorded this late 96/early 97? It certainly sounds as if it may have been. In the silences, I almost expect to hear: "Now you can have me when you want me."

What a massive tit (76,946)
by Andrew from UK

Totally sick of seeing Mariah Carey's tits now. When you see most people in your head, you imagine their face. I now see Mariah's face above a ridiculously dark chasm of a cleavage. It is not attractive. In any given situation her tits are hanging out even when almost everyone else's are put away. Everyone else has class. She has fake tits. How damaged you must be, mentally and emotionally, to have your self-worth dependent upon people liking you because you could afford breast augmentation and free willingly let people ogle them at every opportunity, seemingly in the slim hope that you remain the centre of attention.

Mariah does look nice there. Except I think the fillers have frozen her face into a constantly pained look. When she's being interviewed she looks like someone farted. She also need volume at her roots. Having it flat on her head and big ole granny style around her body is not flattering.

You absolute git. I have "Je- Je- Je- Jesus" stuck in my head now. But it's actually a good thing I guess as I'm not singing "Honey you can have me when you want me" anymore. I drove from Plymouth to London yesterday and didn't realise until I got to London I had listened to So So Def Honey remix on repeat the entire journey. The whole way. That's five hours of that song. About sixty spins. I used to think Mariah's masterpiece was something like Lead The Way. Now I think it's this. Everything about this song is awesome. Except for JD. Haven't got a clue what he's saying until he spells his name. Which, credit to him, he manages to get right. He'll be counting to ten next.

There's not really any other way to say this: you're mental. You must have something seriously emotionally wrong. Everything you post is a misrepresentation, a fabrication or a lie. You know it. We know it. You know we know it. We know you know we know it. Und so bloody weiter. Positivity is one thing. Appearing to be quite mentally and/or emotionally unstable is another. N'est-ce pas?

Baku (76,653)
by Andrew from UK

If the F1 concert in Baku and other recent performances are anything to go by, Mariah Carey just can't sing anymore. She doesn't just sound bad, she sounds exceedingly strained, clearly suffers to achieve even the lowest of high notes and is, in fact, constantly out tune. Unquestionably dreadful.
