She probably already reached out to him and have the song ready for "The Rarities 2". There must be some gems from the 90's that were discarded. The leftovers from the 2000's are not as polished though.

It was not properly released. It was "leaked", but it hasn't ever been available for download anywhere. The same with "Help Me Make It".

I think Mariah will release "The Rarities 2" first, and it is a good strategy. In the meantime she should keep on perfecting whatever music she's been working on. At this point we want quality and quantity, since it's been such a long time. How could she have hidden a track like "One Night" for so long? I would also like to hear the alternate version of "All In Your Mind" she let us hear when she opened the vault. I'm loving the silence on Mariah's camp, that's the way she used to be. Let us crave her music.

Looking at the songs on Billbord that AYNAF was competing with on its chart run, I can understand why it only made it that far. It's not that the song was lacking in anything, it's just that the competition was tough back. The 90's was simply a great decade for music.

Re: How Greatest Hits should've played out (99,455) (99,460)
by Edward from USA

Since most people don't collect anymore, greatest hits albums are pointless, unless a few new non-rushed quality tracks are added. In the digital era, anybody can create their own Greatest Hits. For me it was sacrilege staining the #1's album with crap like Crapfinity. Different from when #1's was originally released, with quality tracks like "When You Believe", "I Still Believe", "Whenever You Call" and "Do You Know Where You're Going to". Even her remixes were worthy of being on the album, like "I Still Believe Pure Imagination". I've been thinking for a while that Mariah's heart is not in music anymore, all that is evidenced by her non-album collabos between between projects. Even for an album like The Rarities, she couldn't come up with a decent new track. The Rarities 2 would be amazing, even though she said there were no leftovers from the Butterfly sessions, but I'm pretty sure there are many other great tracks like "One Night". A Jazz album would be cool, but a Gospel album, well, she doesn't have the voice for that anymore. You can't whisper a whole Gospel album. I'm excited for the new music though, I just hope she at least blow on some songs.

Music Box was a 10-track album. The international version had "Everything Fades Away", but the official version only had 10 tracks. If the tracks are great, 10 tracks is great. I prefer Caution over MIAM any day. MIAM was full of fillers and missed opportunities at having some great tracks.

I've always loved "Lil Love". See, that's what you call a great collabo even when there were four acts on it. I played it so much I thought the mp3 was going to get corrupted, lol. I still listen to it every now and then. I also love "One and Only Part II", but I prefer the version on Twista's album.

Robert-Anthony is just being sarcastic. We all know Mariah can't act for shit. Well, bringing her own lighting and keeping her shots in soft focus is not acting.

It is. I can't wait so we all could read it here on the messageboard. Maybe little Mariah comes with outfit changes. If it came with cardboard wigs and weaves, I would die. She should cancel the new album, this news is to die for. A Christmas book on January, Genius! If by any chance Roc and Roe and Mary Ann Tatum's son happen to appear on the book, now that would be so refreshing and new. Wait a minute, if little Mariah is on high heels on the book, the LGBTQ+ community would definitely add MC at the end of their acronym. The way things are looking, soon the whole alphabet will be on it anyway.

I haven't ever seen Walter as a savior or anything, but one thing we can say it's the fact they had great chemistry and it translated into whatever they collaborated in. Mariah and Walter created music that by themselves they haven't been able to replicate. It's like the perfect cast for a TV show. The only times Mariah has kind of recreated some of that feel is when she's written the bulk of the songs herself. While Mariah has had success after Walter, Walter has also had success after Mariah too. Artist usually are at the forefront, and producers and writers are actually on the background, and nobody ever mentions them.

She hinted she would do something with it, as in recording it. In one of those twitter conversations, she was asked about it. She also said there were no leftovers from "Butterfly" sessuibs that's why there wasn't anything from that era on "The Rarities". Probably she was being forgetful about "Where Are You Christmas" and she actually recorded it. According to Wikipedia, she recorded the song but couldn't release it due to a legal case with Tommy.

To be honest, the only thing I know of Lil Nas X is that he dethroned Mariah and that he posted a pic of his pregnantcy, lol. Other than that, I don't know anything about him. I also know that that song that took Mariah's record sucks big time.

Sadly, there's no demo, according to Mariah. Listening to Faith Hill, it's evident that Mariah wrote it and maybe even produced it. Mariah best non album/soundtrack collabo to me is "Everytime I Close My Eyes", and she just did background. Had it been a duet, it would've been amazing. I love that song and her input in it.

I think Mariah should leave her classics alone, unless she's going to make accoustic versions of them. If a song won't be improved upon or made into an acoustic version, I don't see the point in ramaking them. When she took on "Hero" again about 7 years after its release, the outcome was madiocre at best and that was 20 years ago. Maybe I'm being pessimistic, but too much hype for nothing lately.

The song has gone to #1 because the general public likes it, and it's a good thing. The lambs left don't have any control over its position on the charts anymore, if they had, an awesome album like "The Rarities" would've sold millions. Two years in a row going to #1 is a great accomplishment, the song has legs of its own, it doesn't depend on Mariah of the lambs where it will go.

Hi Randy, I sure miss you. I do miss Andrew too, I hope he's doing well. Many of the regulars very rarely post anymore.
I do agree with you. The Grammy's have been for years now a popularity contest. Most of the members are not what one would consider music experts, they're mere mortals like the rest of us hence their vote towards what's popular. I'm not saying that Alanis Morissette and Seal didn't deserve to win since those were great records, but it seemed to be there were forces working against Mariah to win anything that night.
Don't be a stranger, it gets boring here on a regular basis.

Re: Me thinking again (99,046) (99,051)
by Edward from USA

My dear Robert-Anthony, it doesn't have anything to do with Walter. Mariah's natural voice, accompanied by a very skilled pen game, was what set her apart from the rest. The whistle notes were used to adorn some songs here and there. Different from many other artists that could whistle, Mariah didn't need the whistle to create a beautiful song because her natural voice alone was simply phenomenal. As her voice started to deteriorate, the whistle trick started being used more and more. Her constant strained whispering is not pleasant to the ear anymore, at least not to mine, and her whistle alone just don't cut it. Mariah put quality albums out every year during the 90's, with left over songs that could've been in any album not as fillers, yet she has nearly two years of no touring, resting her voice, and we cannot get one decent song from her. I think it's time for her to collaborate with real musicians. Let's say "One Child", to me is a song beautifully written and sung, but whom did she collaborate with, with Broadway composer Marc Shaiman. This man wasn't probably in the booth with Mariah and her posse clowning around smoking weed. "Almost Home" is a song anybody could swear she wrote when she had very little input on it, but it was very well received and her vocals were comparable to any of her 90's stuff. I know she cannot get her voice back and nobody is expecting that, but dear, those lyrics and productions must improve dramatically.

I'm also enjoying Ed Sheeran's "=", it was an album I waited for patiently, but this "Red" album I didn't know anything about. I've never been a fan of Taylor's, but according to some extensive reviews on Amazon, the album is her best so far. I'll give it a listen. The music scene is kind of dire these days.

Re: Adele (98,972) (98,975)
by Edward from USA

To be honest, I got the album, listened to it, and I think the critics are right. The album is way different from 25. In my humble opinion, Aside from "Easy On Me", there's not another single material song in it. She could've been all about the divorce and stuff and still make some catchy tunes. The writing is on point, but the album as a whole sounds somewhat disjointed to me. She has her very own "Super Creepy" song on it.
As a concept album, I think it's great, but it's not an album you want to have on repeat. It's actually quite depressing. You start playing the first track, by the time you get to "Easy On Me", you get excited and keep on listening hoping for another similar track, but then you get to the end and start scratching your head with a "what the f**k" expression on your face. I don't think Adele will wait 5 years to release another album. As I said, the only single material on the album is "Easy On Me".
