About 123 from USA:

Re: Jazmine Sullivan: singer mentions Adele while disc (59,605) (59,624) by 123 from USA
Jazzmine Sullivan is an amazing vocalist/songwriter. I'm still obsessed with Lions, Tigers, and Bears. I wish I wrote it. Have you ever heard her sing Round Midnight. Her runs are sick. Definitely underrated, and overqualified. Adele should duet with her. She is singing after all singing soul music.

Re: Toni Braxton / Mariah Carey mini series (59,599) (59,623) by 123 from USA
Hi Billy. I think the reason Toni put out a movie about her is because she saw the mockery that was Whitney's and Aaliyah's where the families, let alone the artists were not involved. I do respect your opinion, but did you get a chance to check out Toni's movie? Hopefully the link will work for you. I love Toni as well. I can't believe the same director that did Glitter did Toni's movie. What a difference. What lacked with Glitter was a good script. The story... lacked. What did Mariah say, "It didn't even have a script." Toni put the movie out to finally tell her story. Like Mariah, she too was painted as a lavish diva, overspending and going broke. She signed a bad deal and explained that they put a gag order on her for 10 years in order to be paid her just dues. Toni is re-branding herself as she is coming out with more music and is going to re-enter the music world. The movie received top ratings and I'm sure she got a nice chunk of change for it.

Toni Braxton / Mariah Carey mini series (59,594) by 123 from USA
So I don't know if anyone watched or even knows but Toni Braxton came out with a TV movie about her life. It was a really good movie, nicely done, great cast, and they used Toni's vocals. It kept my attention the whole movie. I would like Mariah to do the same, except to make it a mini series like the OJ miniseries that just stated that will run until the spring. TV shows have gotten really big here in America and are more anticipated than movies now a days. Has anyone else watched Toni's movie, if so what did you think? Do you think Mariah should do a TV mini series of her life? Here is a link.

Next single / Pharrell / Paloma Faith Can't Rely On You (59,593) by 123 from USA
I need a new single co-produced by Pharrell for the Summer. Can you image Mariah singing a song like Paloma Faith's Can't Rely On You. I would freak out.

Re: Hey Mara (59,576) (59,592) by 123 from USA
Mara, I agree with you completely. JLo's team has made sure they re-branded her as the relatable girl-next-door who made it. Someone you could have been cool with in high school. I know there are people on the board that feel "she's Mariah Carey, she has nothing more to prove". I disagree. Everyone an artist comes out they have to prove they are still worthy of the public's money. She or her camp haven't done much to change up her diva image (unrelatable) especially with all these pictures of opulence. They should focus and push the singer songwriter producer and have her talk about her creative process, especially when she made certain songs. If she does talk about her kids, instead of mentioning how they've been more places than most people, she could talk about what they are learning in school, how they are performing in school. Are they learning any instruments yet? How about languages like Spanish. Once she gets that image out there, her team needs to make sure that what they release represents this. Sorry that your daughter didn't get her bear.

Touch My Body (Frankie Biggz 90's Lamb Remix) (59,560) by 123 from USA
I dont know if this has been posted yet, but I ran into this remix of TMB. I was never really into TMB, I thought it was a cutesy song, but a throwaway #1. I love how they used the same sample that Crybaby did. It gives the song new life. The bass gives it a bounce.

Re: M on Breakfast Xpress, South-African interview (59,551) (59,558) by 123 from USA
I didn't see her not know Adele's latest music a diss. Whenever she is working on music she shuts off all other music from the world. Which made me excited. She said the same thing on the Breakfast Club Interview when she didn't know the "surfboard" term on Beyonce's Drunk In Love. "I love Beyonce but I haven't heard it, I"ve been busy working on my own music." They all laughed and said only Mariah could say that. I remember her saying that when she was working on TEOM she stopped listening to the radio. I'm to hear that she is working on new music. I don't know why everyone is surprised for her love for Rihanna. Mariah is usually supportive of younger artists (as long as they are not ripping her off).

Re: Mariah Carey calls for more diversity (59,471) (59,493) by 123 from USA
Don't fall for the bait Trayvon. With some people you may feel its ignorance but considering the source, is a way to disrupt the peaceful vibe on the board lately. Everyone knows it's been mostly peaceful around here lately, God forbid. They knew what they were doing. Same with the Celine post Baby and Mimi L. You ended up giving in to their objective without even realizing it. Regardless of my opinion, I still loved all three of your responses.

Re: Question time (59,462) (59,470) by 123 from USA
I would like a stripped down pop/throwback uptempo like Beautiful as her first single. Something that would be easily played on all formats. I would like for it to be really strong, with a catchy melody, good lyrics, and vocals. I would love something that you can tell was cooked to perfection instead of the rush job that Beautiful sounded. It had no bridge and ended early. Or maybe a combo of taking the bass of a club banger and mix it with some jazz like this song.

Why o why did you take your picture down? Wow you are a stunning. "You're beautiful, oh, oh, oh, oh oh, so beautiful" lol.

Re: Vegas residency (59,372) (59,388) by 123 from USA
Yes I agree. It seems that JLo went to the doctor to transfer fat back into that famous behind. It went all flat when she went vegan. I saw one of her performances and it was really good. Lip synched for her life but she was dancing. I would love for them to give Mariah a new wardrobe worthy of her new body. No wigs or at least ones that look like they are growing out of her scalp. I hope they let her change the show from 1 To Infinity so she can incorporate more uptempos into her show. If JLo is bringing the performances I want Mariah to give really good vocal performances. If she could give Beacon show or better type vocals, I don't know anyone who wouldn't want to see her.

Stella (59,359) by 123 from USA
I believe she is around all the time because Mariah requires her to be at her beck and call 24/7. I'm assuming Mariah paid her a lot of money to do damage control to her career and turn things around. I think Mariah told her to bring her daughter along since she requires her to be there 24/7, she doesn't want her to miss out on raising her daughter. It seems like not only did Mariah clean house professionally but personally as well. No more Rachelle (she came off as a hanger on), is Michael still her tour manager or did Stella that over that role as well? As odd as her entourage may look these days, I must say it's working. Change is good. A new stylist next maybe? "Borrow" JLo's like she borrowed your concepts.

I prefer a blue diamond they're more rare (59,293) by 123 from USA
Was what Mariah's response was when someone's pink diamond engagement ring was all the rage. Now she's got one bigger than than B and Kim's combined-lol. The whole relationship, let alone engagement seems way to soon, but from what I've observed from afar, she seems to be in a really good space. She seems happy, has lost weight, and taken an interest in her career and voice again. I wish them both well and hope it lasts this time and hope the make each other happy.

Re: Last Night a DJ Saved My Life (59,207) (59,266) by 123 from USA
I actually love Loverboy. I think it's underrated and gets a bad rap. Is it bad that I actually love the video? The bandana that was meant to go over her head became a shirt. It wasn't anything new or innovative since she followed her tried and true formula for her uptempo lead single. I do believe that if she would have had time to promote the single with some good performances, it could have gone number 1. She was the headliner for MTV's 20th Anniversary Special where she was to perform the song, until she was hospitalized. What she should have done after she got out is stick to her guns and released "If We" as a second single and let the controversy of the stolen concept help build interest with some well placed performances. There are not too many songs on that album other than some of the ballads that would have done well during that time in music.

Re: Mariah / Shania (59,208) (59,235) by 123 from USA
I always wanted a duet with them. Shania is a Mariah fan and even did a cool version of AIWFCIY. I always thought that Shania was like the Country music version of Mariah. Singer/songwriter with good looks who marries and collaborates with a powerful man in the music industry who the public has a love/hate relationship with. Hopefully they collaborate together someday.

Re: Loverboy unremembered (59,218) (59,234) by 123 from USA
Nikki, spot on as always. I remember reading an article on this site stating that Sony knew that Virgin was going to release Loverboy on a certain date. Bootylicious had massive airplay and radio airplay was configured into chart placement on Billboard. Since they already had a hit song on their hands, they released Bootylicious on the same date to block Loverboy from going number one because Bootylicious had more airplay at the time. If that isn't sabotage I don't know what is. I'd be posting paranoid messages too. How coincidential that Bootylicious went number 1, and after Alicia Keys Fallin replaced it, Jennifer Lopez I'm Real Remix took the number 1 spot from September 8-22. They were so desperate to block her that they had to use two separate artists on their roster to block her. Obsessed. How creepy that they called LA Reid in 2005 to find out how many units TEOM opened with. Funny how Mariah said he should be focusing on his new wife and not her.

Re: All aboard the campaigning (59,222) (59,233) by 123 from USA
I like the How To Get Away With Murder idea. It's one of my favorite shows where the writing and the story keeps getting better and messier. She could be one of the clients they have to defend. That would be a real good look for her.

Scream Queens / AHS (59,221) by 123 from USA
I actually think Mariah should try to hop on or guest star in this show as well. She could really go out there with whatever role the gave her. It would be great to see a scene between her and Channel. I think Gaga did great in AHS. The role wasn't far fetched but she played the hell out of the role. You have to have some great chops to stand next to Angela Bassett in a scene. This season is way too gruesome. I would prefer Mariah to stay away from this show, it's really demonic now. Season 2 was the best with the Witches/Coven. Its the same season Emma Roberts was in. If you notice, Emma's character in that show/season is the same exact one she plays on Scream Queens. She played the hell out of the role on AHS Season 2 that Ryan Murphy must have decided to have her reprise the character on Scream Queens.

Re: Article: "Empire" co-creator shoots down Mariah appearance (59,149) (59,220) by 123 from USA
B, I agree with you, it just wouldn't make sense putting her on the show playing anyone other than herself. How do you have a show about the record business, revolving around shifty corporate heads and tempestuous artists who collaborate and sing with each other. How could have the biggest female r&b act in the world playing anything else wouldn't work. Everyone would be too busy trying to get over her persona as Mariah Carey that they wouldn't believe the performance. Have her on the show and not sing? No way.

Mixtape (59,134) by 123 from USA
You know, if Mariah doesn't plan to put the songs that didn't make the last album on another project, I wouldn't mind her releasing them as a mixtape for the fans, just to hold me over.

"Triumphant era" 2011-2013 (59,106) by 123 from USA
I forget what was going on during this era of her career. Sometimes I wish she could have dropped the album during its original date in 2012. She had a lot of great live vocals then. She sounded rested, scaled back some of the playback, and went for vocals and sounded really good doing it. It would have been nice to hear her sing her new songs with that era's vocals. Even her stage presence had returned.

Mariah - Uniclef Ball (59,105) by 123 from USA
Nice to see her out there singing. She did sound like she needed a little more rest. I need her to do whatever she was doing to prepare for the Beacon shows for Vegas and the European tour. I don't mind partial lipping as long as the live vocals sound great. It would be nice to see her re-work some of the vocals to her classics like she did Always Be My Baby in Jamaica. Also, instead of lipping the bridge everytime, she could improvise like she did in this clip. In regards to her image, wow does she look amazing. She really does look like 2006 at the ball.

Justin dethroned her after ten weeks for all of you people who actually believed this would go on much longer. Hopefully some of you can sleep now. Lol.

Re: Scores (58,770) (58,777) by 123 from USA
I love Languishing. It's such a brilliantly written song. It really hits the core of my soul. It came out during a period of my life that made me identify with it. I had it on repeat and marveled how she could write something so deep this far in her career. The simple approach of the piano and vocal combo gives it life. I hope that she turns it into a full song one day, it finishes way to soon. I do like how it bleeds into IWTKWLI when listening to the album.

New album (58,771) by 123 from USA
For the next album, I would still love Mariah to do some Hip Hop/Jazz tracks as it's a hybrid I've grown to love recently. Live instrumentation with the hip hop bass. I would also love her to take a stab at the bossanova inspired Saudade album and work with Thievery Corporation. I loved a lot of the tracks on that album. Very chill and hypnotic. I know it's completely left field but one can dream.
