Yup she sounds nothing like Mariah and will never. Maybe they compared her because it was obvious Ariana tried to copy some things or maybe were forced from the management (I don't know). Christina Aguilera were compared at the beginning of her career too to MC. But after a while Christina really got her own style. I can't see that yet by Ariana.

I like the one from Michael Buble, the star soundtrack (not only because of MC) and the Christmas cd from Elvis.

Her old Christmas album is like wine. It gets better and better. But I also love MC2. Special K. I think I'm still enchanted by yesterday's concert.

Re: Berlin concert (86,908) (86,910)

Luckily I joined the Berlin concert. The 5-hour travelling was definitely worth it. As Manuel said it was a pleasure to see Mariah and her show. And I can only agree. The mood of the audience was great, Mariah got love from the first second and she got the love back. Her smile can melt ice. She seemed like an angel and a Christmas princess in one person. Of course some parts were lipped, but the live parts were blowing you away. Mariah still got it. A true legend who was rocking the arena. I also enjoyed her band, the dancers and of course Trey and the other two singing ladies in the background. I had two Italian fans behind me and they were literally freaking out. Even the older ones (and I mean old) were having fun and gave her standing ovations. What else can I say? In the German newspaper from Berlin it is written even Grinch would get in the Christmas mood after watching her concert. It was a spectacle. Mariah looked beautiful and it was an honor to see her live. Thank you Mariah for that great evening. It was like beautiful dream. Something the people need more than ever today. I wish all the lambs who are joining her other concerts in Europe a great time. You'll have it.

Hi MC1989, I know what you mean. Your descriptions of the costumes sounds scary. I was hoping that this year the costumes would be more classy and tasteful since Crustella is gone. Just a red dress or something very classy for the show would suit perfect. I love her "princess" dress from Disneyland. That would be great too. Hmm the Angel thing I don't get it too.

I'll go with a friend. I live near Frankfurt and the last time I was in Berlin was with the vocational school. So it's a long time ago. Lol. I'm very excited for Berlin and MC.

I was even suprised that she will do one show in Germany for the Christmas concert. Last year it was only Paris and the UK. And the last concert in Cologne during her "SSFT" wasn't sold out. Anyway I hope we'll enjoy her concert. Can't believe it's next week. Frohe Weihnachten Andrew.

Who will be going to one of her concerts during the Europe Christmas Tour? It's a tough schedule for MC. I hope for all the lambs that there won't be a cancelling. Christmas season has officially started.

Yes, sounds like another one wrote it. I wonder why she doesn't like it. It sounds not like a typical Mariah song, but I love "Almost Home". It suits perfect for the movie.

I like the title too. I love everything which is nostalgic. And the 8th grade was tough for me too. I guess for most 14-15 year old ones it still is.

When I first listened to "Stay Long Love You" I thought the same. The teens and young twens will love it. This song sounds a lot like many songs on the charts and radio stations for the young people.

This song is everything. The last minute is magical. I love the guitar and her high notes so much. "Giving me life" is from the beginning to end a masterpiece. I wonder about who she is singing. Maybe it's just her perfect imagination. I can't get enough of this one. It has this cool roof vibe but even "deeper". Pure genius Mariah.

"I think some fans were probably disconnected after the last couple of years."
I think the same. And the general public has problems with her image, "the over-the-top diva". Last year was the only time I really wasn't able to recognize Mariah at all. And I'm a fan since 95. I mean we fans know her diva playing and humor. But what was going on a year ago, was just shocking. Mariah looks so much better and healthier now. Everything changed in a positive way since then. So I'm a bit surprised of the sales too. Anyway I love "Caution". It just gets better by every listen.

Completely agree. Your comment about Cher was hilarious. I think there are many reasons why it's only 50.000. One is surely the disconnect not Mariah's age. I'm just happy that the horrible "management" from the last year is gone.

Special K, I buy physical cd's. The streaming and only downloading is not my thing. I know I'm retro. The teenagers here are the same. Lol. They have only digital music and are listening with their smartphone. But a lot of grown-ups are buying cd's. And the vinyl is still a trend for music collectors. I can imagine a lot of teens would enjoy Mariah's new album.

Thanks for sharing your experience. You're lucky to have met her. I know how beautiful she really is, I could see it in concert where I had a good view. "We have an MC album for every mood" that's, true. Another thing I really love and appreciate.

Yes, Giving me life is very special (in a positive way), loved it from the beginning. It has the vibe of "The Roof" but the mood is even darker. I can't get this song out of my head. And a mini movie would be great. It is my favorite at the moment from the album. Followed by "Caution", "8th Grade", and "Portait". It's nice to see that "Giving Me Life" gets so much love from most of you.

The same here. The song "Caution" gets better and better by each listen. I like the complete album except "GTFO". It seems a fan favorite from the beginning but somehow I'm not feeling this one at the moment.

"Why should we demand natural vocals when we accept synthetic music made entirely on computers?"
That's why I dream of an album with real instruments or even orchestral (no beats) and Mariah. The songs she did on Merry Christmas II are with the band are great. But of course this is nothing for most of the young listeners.

How I love that song. When I first heard it, I got goosebumbs. It's like an angel is singing. The voice, so much power, the emotion is everything.

"To question when Mariah let the glitter overpower the artist is perfectly fair. To say it's people merely living in the nineties who don't know who Mariah is, who should move on, is ad absurdum."
I completely agree with it. I found the original post from Chris1992 very interesting and not negative at all. It was heartfelt and I feel the same way on many things Chris1992 pointed out. Caution is a modern album and I do enjoy it. But it's true, the lyrics are very childish and superficial. Yes you can call it fun lyrics, but she used to write songs that were pure poetic. I mean "Heartbreaker" were fun too but on that album were "Petals", "CTTA", "AOO", "TGIFY" so there was a nice balance between ballads and "fun" tracks.
