Once again, three paragraphs full of nothing. Whether you like Meryl Streep or not, she's an effing awesome actress and when it comes to acting, she's in a league of her own, just like Mariah is on a league of her own with her musical genius. I love Viola Davis, she's not only a great actress but a humble person too, but she has a long way to go still to be considered an actress of Meryl Streep's caliber. Since you seem to be a 12 or 15-year old, I won't keep entertaining your diatribes full of made-up facts and irrational comments. Keep being a positive little lamb, one day you might turn into a full blown sheep and see things for what they are and no for what you want them to be. Baa. Baa.
Don't be embarrassed, but Meryl Streep is at number 2 on the link to the website you provided. At least I admit when I don't take my meds, but you, my dear, need help.

Technically Mariah has directed 5 videos by herself, three of which were for her remixes, and she co-directed five others not as the main director. That's 10 videos in total. Out of 60 plus videos shot throughout her career, including remixes and bonuses, how can you say she's directed most of her videos?
Before pulling facts out of your behind, you should check your facts. Just because you say it, it doesn't make it true. I don't know if up there where you live directing a video and directing a movie is the same because here in the USA and most parts of the world it is not. So, let's stop with the deluluness. Mariah is an amazing singer/lyricist, there's no denying in that. Some things you either have in you or you don't. It's not only about having a big voice, but also about charisma and presence. Same thing with acting. Mariah is to singing as to Meryl Streep is to acting. Each one of them have something in them that goes beyond the voice or trying hard with an acting coach. Meryl can sing, but she won't ever be Mariah. Mariah can sort of act sometimes, but the closest to Meryl Streep twenty thousand acting coaches would get her would be as good as the quality of acting of Emely's Cellphone on the Devil Wears Prada.

I don't hold Glitter against Mariah, I'm actually happy Glitter happened because I don't think we would've gotten Glitter, the soundtrack, had she not jumped on making the movie. But trying to justify this movie blaming every little thing or person for how bad it was or what it could've been, is something I won't ever do. I like Mariah on Precious. She was decent in Tennessee and Wise Girls. By the end of the '90's Mariah had started believing her own hype, and what happened with Glitter brought some of that early humbleness she used to have back in her, then she worked hard and we got "Charmbracelet", which was kind of hated then, but now highly appreciated considering Mariah doesn't write poetic lyrics like that anymore, and then we had "The Emancipation Of Mimi". Things happened for a reason, at the end of the day, a horrible movie and a great soundtrack ended up saving her life. Mariah was working like a mule, abusing substances and not taking care of herself, and like any human being, she crashed. Everything happened the way it was supposed to. The movie keep being bad just as the soundtrack keep being great. We even got justice for it Glitter, the soundtrack, but we won't ever see a "#Justice4GlitterTheMovie" on twitter, and there's a clear reason for that.

Defending Glitter (90,783)
by Edward from USA
| |
|
|
Defending "Glitter" is like Defending "Crapfinity". I remember those lambs who swore the song was pure genius, a masterpiece, a diamond in the rough. I don't remember if they said it was a slow burner, but they probably said that too. At least "Glitter", the soundtrack, can be listened to and enjoyed without thinking about the movie. Putting "Crapfinity" at the end of a collection of her #1's was the worst decision ever. I didn't buy the album because of that. I created my own #1's album, in which "Crapfinity" was a no show, and where I just added "We Belong Together", "Don't Forget About Us", and "Touch My Body" to the original plus the songs that were released on the European version: "Without You" and "Do You Know Where You're Going To". Mariah is a musical genius, emphasis on musical. Writing a song is nothing like writing the script for a movie. She should keep her hands off directing or producing any movie, "A Christmas Melody" showed she's bad at directing, and her grown up version of "Regina George" with a camera special soft focus for her to look like an angel was ridiculous. If it had been for Mariah, she would've played the social worker on "Precious" with the outfit she wore on "Diva's Live". Thank God she wasn't the director or producer or anything other than an actress on Precious.

Licia, you couldn't have said it better. The Glitter soundtrack is awesome, the movie is terrible. It's not about the actors, promotions or shit else. The script and production were horrendous, and Mariah was playing a Mary Poppins version of herself. I saw it here in NY, there were a few cats in attendance, and my friend looked at me and told me: "You know this movie sucks, right?" A movie can be a commercial flop and still be great. In this case it was both. No matter how much "The United Lambs of Lala Land" like it or the excuses they make for it being so bad, Glitter is still a bad movie.

TEOM tour got her voice in shape. You can actually hear the improvement in her voice from TEOM to E=MC2. Some of the critics said she sounded so relaxed and confident. As for Memoirs, she kind of went back to her whisper register and sounded good, but never close to its predecessor.

She said in an interview in 8th grade is when she started finger counting the men she had slept with. After high school, she reset her finger-counter, and after the birth of her twins she did it again. Diet and exercise made her a virgin again.

Wow, great analogy, B. I'm speechless. The same way push-up bras gave her big boobs too. Mariah has always had a curvy body. I have seen pregnancy change a woman body, but to put perfect junk in the trunk where there was none, I still haven't seen that woman. Ass is just like Kalves, either you have or you don't. You can also buy them of course, which is perfectly Ok.

How touchy can you be? (90,525)
by Edward from USA
| |
|

Can we stop with this "super sensitive Nelly Bottom" mentality. That's why people think lambs are paranoid and delulu. When Mariah shades someone, we must celebrate and hail the queen, but God forbid a comedian says something about Mariah, it's like the wrath of the lambs is in full force. What's next, a petition to grab Whoopi by her braids, rip them off and then lather her head with peanut butter? Last time I checked Mariah was a grown ass woman who could defend herself when she felt she was being attacked or shaded. Some people are so touchy.

I agree. At least Despacito was everywhere. Even if you were not looking for it, it would pop up everywhere. Mariah handing over the torch with such grace and class makes me happy, that wouldn't have happened on Counturella's watch. Finally I dont have to worry about that record anymore.

To be honest, I want this record to be broken, no more pressure. Records are meant to be broken. It's sad that, with the way things are with streaming and all, a shitty song is about to break it. I guess I made my peace with knowing there's not Mariah second coming, and I'm ok with that. As long as she keeps on making some good music, I'm ok with it.
Even though I don't want a shitty song to break the record, I'm happy it's about to be broken. I want "Migrate" to be released as a single soon too, so we won't keep regurgitating the fact it wasn't one on this board ever again. It's time we focus on the "You Don't Know What To Do" should've been a single mantra from now on.

Oh my gosh, they say Mariah's vocals sound crispier on the new Daydream vynil [sic] because of the new color. And the scratchy vynil sound on Underneath The Stars sounds amazing, like very scratchy-achy. I'm definitely not getting a copy. Sorry, mixed my meds again.

Re: Mariah Report (90,348) (90,349)

Record of the Year is related to but is conceptually different from Song of the Year or Album of the Year:
1. Record of the Year is awarded for a single or for one track from an album. This award goes to the performing artist, the producer, recording engineer and/or mixer for that song. In this sense, "record" means a particular recorded song, not its composition or an album of songs.
2. Song of the Year is also awarded for a single or individual track, but the recipient of this award is the songwriter who actually wrote the lyrics and/or melodies to the song. "Song" in this context means the song as composed, not its recording. 3. Album of the Year is awarded for a whole album, and the award is presented to the artist, producer, recording engineer, and mastering engineer for that album. In this context, "album" means a recorded collection of songs (a multi-track LP, CD, or download package), not the individual songs or their compositions.

Her comment about Mariah has returned to bite her own ass. Some of these artists believe their own hype when they have a few hit songs/albums and start feeling invincible, then reality sets in when people can't remember one of their songs. Mariah made that comment about when Madonna used to be popular and hopefully she learned her lesson. Mariah might not be as popular, but unlike Katy, she has an impressive calalog and legacy.

Tijl, sorry to rain on your parade, but Mariah didn't write that part of H.A.T.E.U., The Dream did. Here's the The Dream's full demo he presented Mariah with. I actually love the lyrics on his take better than Mariah's. It's obvious Mariah took what she liked from his song, and then rewrote the rest with The Dream and Tricky Stewart.

Completely agree. Mariah's image and music were also carefully calculated for about a decade. I think it's easy for some people to dismiss other artists just to put Mariah on a pedestal. Mariah and Madonna are icons and they've influenced generations in their own different ways. I haven't followed Madonna since "Confessions" because I haven't liked what her music has morphed into, but I won't dismiss her accomplishments and impact on the music scene because of that. She's always taking risks, some of which have paid off really well. As for "Almost Home", Mariah broke my heart with that dismissive comment. "Almost Home" actually brought back my faith in her ability to create something lyrically and vocally reminiscent of her glory days, come to find out she didn't write it and most likely was directed as how to sing it hence her bitterness towards it. Another stupid comments she made was about her not liking other people covering her songs when she's spent her entire career sampling and covering other people's music. I try to make myself believe she wasn't taking her meds when she made those comments.

I had said it before, this is just the beginning from Cuntella and her daughter Bitchka. It's sad because I actually think Mariah is in a different place right now. I'm glad this is happening though, maybe she finally bursts the yass-queen bubble of people she's decided to trap herself in, incluring the yass-queen fans. Those pics are humiliating and Mariah looks as if she had herself a mixture of pills, alcohol and God knows what else. I was glad when Morgan opened his mouth, even though it wasn't for him to tell. She should've taken notes from that, her yass-queen nephew denied everything. I'll go with the yass-queen lambs, she was going through a divorce, having an affair, her humidifiers were contaminated, and the list goes on.

Re: Lead the Way (89,922) (89,930)
by Edward from USA

I've always known the long note in "Butterfly" was cut and paste to prolong the note. If you listen closely, you can hear it, it was obviously impossible to replicate that life or pretend she was even trying it in front of an audience. At Diana's Tribute she lipped the note as it was sung in the studio before they cut and pasted. It was easier doing that with Butterfly because there was a lot going on in the background in that song, but with "Lead The Way" the situation is different. With no distractions in the background, you can clearly hear Mariah's voice flowing along without any weird change in key or studio tweaking. You have to remember "Glitter" was supposed to be to Mariah what "The Bodyguard" was to Whitney, so Mariah went all out vocally in that album, especially in "Lead The Way". I do agree with you, the whistle note is perfectly placed, and the last note is out of this world. "Lead The Way" is simply epic.

Mariah should release a whistle album, it would be like super epic-epic. Randy, I heard there's a version of "Right to Dream" with whistles too. Wasn't the whistled version of "With You" burning the R&B charts? Oh, I think I need my meds again.
