Till, I believe that the fireplace ornament was one of the inspirations behind Butterfly album. There was nothing in the Butterfly, #1's, Rainbow albums about the fire. I personally doubt that she had ever visited the remnants of the mansion. I believe she found out about that from the press.

I believe Mrs Diana Ross is a quite decent actress too. This lady sings the blues and Mahogany anyone? Dolly Parton is not bad either in movies.
And last, but definitely not least, Whitney Houston. She was five heads above Madonna and Mariah in acting. PS sorry, I noticed later that Dolly was in the list.

I believe Will Smith and JLo were actors turned singers, not otherwise. This list is very amateur. Where's Liza Minelli then?

How many fingers are there on one hand? (90,583)
by Dennis from Underneath the Stars
| |
|
|
I'm pretty sure that finger comment was directed towards Alison and nobody else. I'm sure Mariah doesn't give a damn what the public thinks. She only wants something to prove to her black sheep sister.
On the side note, Tommy ain't on a hand. They have married when she "was technically a virgin". He wanted to preserve her unique voice, because he was afraid that hormone release after virginity loss could had changed her voice for vorce or even damage it (it happened before Butterfly era). So they never had sex. So that's why in Larry King interview she said "there are other forms of abuse". I hope that another mystery has been solved.

Come on. It's Cosmopolitan, not Forbes or People. Though it was called "the bible" by Elle Woods in Legally Blonde.

What about the pictures leaked by Azaryan? Her boobs look natural, not too big. I don't believe she did the boob job. Probably she's doing lots of boob taping (google it) and doing other tricks.

The greatest lyrics are from 2009 and it's all about you: "If you could only see that I was not put here for you to judge me and dispute my innermost truth, and after all these years of enmity, envy, and tears. It's a shame you don't know me at all."

I am sure that veteran artists are not getting promotion because they get bigger share of profit and the record companies prefer to work with beginner artists. I've heard that the beginners are getting 25%, the rest goes to the record company. Mariah is a veteran, she or her equals will not agree to 25/75 agreement. So there is no incentive to promote them.

When You Believe / Count on Me (89,258)
by Dennis from Underneath the Stars

Bridge of When You Believe reminds me the one of Count on Me. Maybe it's because of Babyface's production. For me those two songs are siblings.

Actually, I wasn't trying to badmouth Tommy. Show-business is a business. Company invests money and wants certain profit. Sony wanted Mariah do do the same thing over and over again. The same thing happened to George Michael. Sony wanted Faith 2.0. George rebelled. The company didn't promote his album full force and it underperformed. Listen Without Prejudice Vol. 1 is still a great album, though it didn't sell as much as Faith. Tommy explained that in his book as well.

Re: When You Believe theory (89,239) (89,245)

Prince of Egypt hasn't matched Titainic commercial success. Prince of Egypt had a mediocre box office, and Titanic was the highest grossing movie at that time. "When you believe" has some promotion, but it was of a different scale than My Heart. It was harder to coordinate 2 superstars' schedules (I remember only 2 live performances - Oprah and Oscar's) and the song and the song is not as great (IMHO). And, if you remember, all post-Daydream singles released half-assed support from Sony, because Mariah rebelled. Butterfly didn't receive the same level of success as Daydream or Music Box because Sony has invested in promotion significantly less. It had only 2 commercial singles released in US. Butterfly has/was certified 5x platinum in the US. Outside of the country about 10 million copies were sold, which is not that far from Daydream overseas sales. Sony has turned to Celine instead, because they needed an artist appealing to wide audiences, they were scared of Hip-Hop. It was mentioned in the Hitman (Motorola's autobiography).

Guys, have you seen that? It's from 2017 BBC Even Better Than the Real Thing. I've never seen it before. Some of the impersonators are really good. No Mariah though. But still a lot of fun.
