About The Real Deal from USA:

Re: Snubbed again (91,407) (91,412) by The Real Deal from USA
Do you really think the Grammy's would consider her after she went on a major entertainment news show and said that the Grammy's were boring?

No matter how good of an album Caution is, she pissed off alot of Recording Academy voters with her interview where she said the Grammy's are boring and that nobody watches them anymore, and then proceeded to say that the Grammy's punished her for having the #1 song of the year.

Re: It's not just Glitter (90,777) (90,778) by The Real Deal from USA
If "Glitter" was presented as a made for TV movie or an MTV Original Movie, it would've fared fine and probably would've recieved a mixed review rating.

Re: Chart manipulation (90,619) (90,626) by The Real Deal from USA
I grew up in NYC. The first single that I brought from her catalog was "Love Takes Time", which was not discounted. I then purchased "Someday" cassette maxi single, which was also priced regularly. The same for "I Don't Wanna Cry". I think "Emotions" may have been discounted, but definitely not "Can't Let Go" and "Make It Happen". All of the Music Box and Daydream singles that I purchased were regular price. In regard to "Honey", it was discounted. However, "My All/Breakdown" was regular price. I honestly don't remember about the Rianbow singles, as I started to buy the cd maxi singles at that point, instead of cassette singles. "Loverboy" was $.49. So in actuality, there were only three discounted singles to my knowledge:

1. Emotions
2. Honey
3. Loverboy

Re: MC video in Aspen (90,582) (90,584) by The Real Deal from USA
In the Aspen video, at the beginning, when she is talking about her brother going through a rebellious stage and dying his hair green, I am almost certain she is referring to Tommy's son. Remember, she thought of them as her "lil sis and lil brother" ("Petals") as opposed to stepmom. I think it's endearing that she still keeps in contact with them. Look at the 1:07 mark.

Re: Article: Homer Panteloglou still reeling from Mariah (90,559) (90,563) by The Real Deal from USA
Did anyone ever see this? She was talking to these kids that ran into her at a store in Aspen for nearly 10 minutes and they weren't even fans. Totally down to Earth. Side note: This was in 2007, and it's interesting what she has to say when one of the teens asked her if she had any kids. She's obviously changed her opinion since then.

Re: Obsessed re-enters iTunes chart (90,412) (90,421) by The Real Deal from USA
iTunes charts will not be irrelevant, as they will become the Apple Charts, so slow your role. And yes, I applaud the person that wrote "iTunes is irrelevant, except when Glitter was #1 on it". Hahaha. As a matter of fact, I always see the younger generation talking about iTunes and Spotify charts way before they talk about the Billboard charts. So perhaps it is Billboard that is irrelevant now.

Single choices for each album (90,085) by The Real Deal from USA
New topic. If I was A&R, here would be my single choices for each album.

1. Mariah Carey - I would keep the singles as they were (Vision Of Love, Love Takes Time, Someday, I Don't Wanna Cry), but I would've released There's Got To Be A Way and Prisoner simultaneously to radio at the same time as promo only tracks.

2. Emotions - I would keep releases as they were (Emotions, Can't Let Go, Make It Happen), but would've sent "If It's Over" to adult contemporary radio for promo only airplay and "To be Around You" to pop radio for promo only airplay.

3. Music Box - Dreamlover, Hero, Without You/Now That I Know (as a double single), Anytime You Need A Friend, All I've Ever Wanted

4. Daydream - Fantasy, One Sweet Day, Always Be My Baby, Open Arms, Underneath The Stars, Melt Away

5. Butterfly - Honey, Butterfly, My All, Breakdown, The Roof, Babydoll

6. Rainbow - Heartbreaker, Thank God I Found You, Against All Odds, How Much (but remixed), After Tonight

7. Glitter - Loverboy, Lead the Way, Never Too Far, Last Night A DJ Saved My Life

8. Charmbracelet - Through The Rain, The One, Yours, I Only Wanted, Bringin' On The Heartbreak

9. The Emancipation Of Mimi - It's Like That, We Belong Together, Shake it Off, Say Somethin', Don't Forget About Us, Stay the Night

10. E=MC2 - Touch My Body, Migrate, Side Effects, I Stay In Love, I'm That Chick (but with intro, if no intro, then replace with Cruise Control)

11. Me. I Am Mariah... The Elusive Chaunteuse - Beautiful, Meteorite/Thirsty (double single - "Thirsty" to urban; "Meteorite" to dance club play remixers), Faded, You Don't Know What To Do, Dedicated

12. Caution - A No No, With You (it's actually my least favorite song, but a good reintroduction for "new" radio formats), The Distance, Stay Long Love You, Giving Me Life

Songs from her albums that I would not have released as singles (physical or promo), these were released, but I would have nixed them: Never Forget You, Can't Take That Way, Crybaby, Reflections, Don't Stop (Funkin' For Jamaica), Boy (I Need You), Get Your Number, Fly Like A Bird, Bye Bye, GTFO (even though I like it)

Re: New Mariah Carey song co-written by Fresco Kane (84,820) by The Real Deal from USA
He couldn't afford a plane ticket, but he could afford to bring Hennessy to the studio and it ends up being written about in the song. This is who she trades in Walter Afanasieff for? Trash like this?

Re: Videos (81,370) (81,376) by The Real Deal from USA
I always felt that Nick started saying things publically at the end of his marriage in order for Mariah to get mad enough to want to divorce him. Examples: When he went on the radio show and talked about all the female celebrities he had sex with before marrying Mariah, when he was interviewed on the red carpet about who had a great butt and he said Nicki Minaj (who Mariah as we all know had just finished having drama with on Americasn Idol a year before), when he started talking about the things that him and Mariah did in the bedroom. I really feel like he did all of these things with the hopes of her saying "I can't take this. You're outta here." Ironically she didn't and he ended up filing for divorce and the reason that he gave for it was such a bullshyt one. Something to the effect of "The relationship wasn't growing."

Re: What songs should she perform? (80,112) (80,113) by The Real Deal from USA
Artists never perform album cuts at these major events. They only perform and are expected to only perform their well known songs. So you can forget about "Meteorite", "Migrate", etc. Before anybody interjects by saying that "Auld Lang Syne" isn't a known single from her - you're right, it's not - but the song itself is a well known song and associated with New Years Eve. In regard to "It's like That", it may not even be considered one of her biggest hits, but there's a slight chance that it might happen. What I think would be amazing is if she did the exact same set list as last year and of course, snatch wigs with her vocals on all of the tracks. BUt please, leave the feathers at home lol.

"One Child" should've been the followup single to "Oh Santa". I was shocked when it wasn't released as a single at all.

Mary J. and Mimi never had a rivalry. As a matter of fact, she appears in Mary's No More Drama music video and they both had a duet with the remix of "It's A Wrap", featured on the Me I Am Mariah Deluxe Edition.
