About MusicfanJ from Germany: I'm a fan of Mariah since Daydream came out.

One sweet day (Acapella) (78,350) by MusicfanJ from Germany
Since we were talking about OSD lately I had to listen to my beloved acapella version. And after watching this, I couldn't stop the tears. Only Mariah can do this. I love all her acapella versions, official or not. What do you think? "Butterfly" and "Underneath the stars" and "Hero" are also magical.

Re: Mariah Carey installed skinny mirrors in home? (78,328) (78,330) by MusicfanJ from Germany
Totally agree with you. The new "rumor" with the kids and spotlight is also unnecessary. I do hope it's not true. I just saw yesterday an interview with Aaron Carter and was shocked how he looked and how broken he seemed. I think to experience fame as a kid is often like poison.

Re: I'm going to buy Mariah's "AIWFCIY" animated move (78,302) (78,318) by MusicfanJ from Germany
I love animated movies, Christmas and of course MC so I buy this DVD. Does anybody know if the movie will be available in Europe too?

Re: Slightly shocked at Despacito (78,223) (78,228) by MusicfanJ from Germany
I can understand that the Elvis fans didn't like "Touch my body". He is still the king. Luckily autumn arrives slowly so I hope it will be "over" with the endless playing of "Despacito". I have nothing against Luis or Daddy Yankee I just don't like the song. (From the beginning.)

Re: Complex's list of 50 greatest 90s R&B songs (78,222) (78,226) by MusicfanJ from Germany
Oh yes the 90ies rnb is the best. I agree with all your points. Funny that you mention Jennifer Paige's "Crush". Loved it so much back then because the part when she sang "it's just a little crush" reminded me of Mariah somehow. The quality [was] definitely better in the 90ies. (70ies and 80ies are of course great too.) Mariah truly ruled that decade like no other female artist. If you watch videos of that time it's almost unbelievable. Her look, her voice and her aura. I think the list [was] posted here, great songs on it.

Re: Slightly shocked at Despacito (78,201) (78,202) by MusicfanJ from Germany
Never thought that this simply summer song would be on number one for so long too. I think since they had Justin Bieber on the remix the song got played even more. I don't care that "Desoacito" has success. It's just a one-hit wonder. And I can't hear it on the radio anymore. It's so annoying. But yes the people [seem] to need a happy song that brings sunshine to their lives.

Re: Forgotten gem: Vanishing (78,162) (78,165) by MusicfanJ from Germany
"Vanishing" is so great. The lyrics touch my heart every time. I find it so impressive too, that such a young woman was able to write a song like this. How I wish Mariah would write a song like this again. At the age of only twenty (or even 18) she created music with such class and quality. Unbelievable. It was a wonderful time where the music had substance. Now 99 % is about superficial, boring topics if you listen to the "youngsters" on the radio/charts. The heart and real emotions are often missing. I will always love Mariah for her debut. And of course for a genius "Vanishing".

Re: Boy (I Need You) (78,139) (78,151) by MusicfanJ from Germany
I love MOAIA as well. "Betcha gon know", "Hate you", "Candy Bling" are my favorites. And lately I really appreciate and enjoy "IWTKWLI". Languishing is Mariah at her best, I only wish the song [was] longer, but her interludes are always so good. The lyrics of the whole album are so enjoyable, pure MC. I listen to the album more than to TEOM.

Re: Unforgettable remix (78,099) (78,104) by MusicfanJ from Germany
At the end of the remix I get Daydream vibes. Best part of the song. The lyrics are typical for something that charts today. Lol. Normally it's not my type of music, but MC makes me love it.

Re: Unforgettable remix acoustic (78,102) (78,103) by MusicfanJ from Germany
For a remix, it's sounds really good. But I would prefer a song by Mariah only. No more rappers, newcomers, just a new Mariah song. But it's better to hear Mariah featuring than nothing new.

Re: Simply amazing (78,058) (78,067) by MusicfanJ from Germany
But to change yourself or "image/persona" 180 degrees is strange. Of course every one changes a bit. You get smarter because of the experiences and so on. I'm still a huge fan but sometimes I don't recognize Mariah. Never thought I would say that. The persona she shows nowadays is not the Mariah I fell in love too. Not at all. But I do believe that inside herself there's still the Mariah most of us fell in love with. To be a living legend must be the hell sometimes. So I understand if she "hides herself".

Re: Best hope of dethroning D (78,049) (78,054) by MusicfanJ from Germany
I know [what] I said before, but Despacito shouldn't be the song that breaks the OSD record. A regular song ok, but not a summer hit. And it's nothing more. It will only be a one hit wonder. That Despacito is so long at number one shows how boring the charts are today. I would have preferred "Mambo No. 5" back then. Lol.

Re: Paper Magazine photoshoot (78,032) (78,052) by MusicfanJ from Germany
I love the "tropical" pic Mimi L. posted where it looks like Mariah is in the rainforest. So beautiful. The photographer did a great job. The Las Vegas showgirl pics are also nice.

CMC thank you for sharing. How cool that you showed Mariah your tatoo. Lucky one. One of my biggest dreams is to visit New York. I'm a fan of MC and NY.

Re: Stella has lamb kicked out of concert? (77,979) (77,981) by MusicfanJ from Germany
Why was the person kicked out? I can't believe it. Is it really true? Imagine this would have happened during a Daydream concert or during Butterfly tour. No way.

Re: Is she okay? (77,963) (77,969) by MusicfanJ from Germany
I hope she's ok. But I doubt it. If I look at all the latest pics, I see a superstar (the best-selling female artist of all time) who's not happy at all. I don't know if it's because of private things or health issues. It's not my business, but I would love to see her happy again. I have a feeling that she's heartbroken plus other things. Money can't buy you happiness. I fear that she feels like Marilyn Monroe her idol. Most beautiful and talented woman who only wanted love in life and couldn't get it. I hope I'm wrong.

Re: On Butterfly's 20th (77,938) (77,941) by MusicfanJ from Germany
Randy what a great post. I enjoyed reading every word of it. You're right, that's one reason I can't leave Mariah alone too. There will never be another Butterfly. What she did in 97 was pure genius and it still sounds like a record that could easily be released today. I love her combination of "classic" Mariah with rnb. I even love the hip-hop collaborations. I only started to listen to hip-hop because of Mariah. She really created a masterpiece and with every song she shared a bit of her soul with us. Thanks for reminding me of the greatness of this album. I'll play tonight and just enjoy the one and only Mariah. Lambily forever.

Re: Help is close by (77,937) (77,939) by MusicfanJ from Germany
That's true, help can be often near if you're open to it. I had to laugh so hard because of the minions. Now I have this picture on my mind. Mariah and the minions. Haha.

Re: Jessie Ware - Midnight (77,929) (77,932) by MusicfanJ from Germany
I like Jessie Ware. She's special, a true musician, not like the famous wannabes. When I saw a concert of her on TV, I had to buy "Devotion". Such a great album. I'm sure the other ones are good as well. And I do need new MC music (not only a Christmas song) too.

Re: New dress (77,913) (77,918) by MusicfanJ from Germany
Now this is a dress that belongs to a lady like Mariah. She looks beautiful in it. I hope she had a good time with Da Brat. Finally someone to spend time with who knows Mariah longer than the clan.

There's got to be a way (77,891) by MusicfanJ from Germany
I'm still listening and enjoying her debut. Imagine Mariah would write a song with lyrics like "There's got to be a way" again. At a time where most of the so-called singers just shout out how sexy they are, party non-stop and don't give a f. about anything. The music world would be shocked to hear it from "the diva". Lol I mean the charts are so boring. I need some new music from the one and only Miss Mariah Carey.

Re: Article: Why Mariah Carey fans are so worried about her (77,888) (77,889) by MusicfanJ from Germany
I hate to say it, but I'm sill worried too. I miss the Mariah who had fun while doing a show. Mariah should try to forget the circus for a while. Just relax, have a good time, money and fame means nothing if you're broken inside or burned out. Why not going to NY to meet real friends, or Italy or just any place where she can refill her "batteries"? I miss her inner "sparkle". I mean even if you're not famous and touring it's so easy to get or feel "lost" sometimes. It's ok, but if you surround yourself with the "wrong" people it will only make everything worse. They won't help you at all. Everytime she's with her kids, she looks like herself again. The Mariah I love. I think someone on this board noticed it too.

Re: "Pisces" - Trey Lorenz feat. Mariah (77,829) (77,834) by MusicfanJ from Germany
I love "Pisces" too. Yes, Mariah is phenomenal even as a back-up. By the way, Billy I love the word Mariah-esque. On "Everytime" with Babyface it's the same. Mariah takes the song to another level only with her back-up vocals. I remember when I bought "How come how long" and discovered MC's voice on "Everytime". It was the best.

Re: Article: Mariah Carey is performing with "no f---s given" (77,812) (77,819) by MusicfanJ from Germany
It's frustrating again to read such an article. In other news the press is saying that Mariah is an emotional wreck because of the Packer split and because of the divorce from Nick. That she didn't get over him. I know it's all private and only the three know what was really going on, but it hurts that most of the news is only about her diva behavior or private things. I miss the time where the press was talking about the musician and singer. Times are changing but I agree with most of you on this board, that Mariah needs a new team and some free time without the press. Please no burnout.
