I like Lovari's remake but I like this single from him much better. I'm assuming it's original.

I always thought that Didn't Mean should've ben a single instead of Loverboy or Don't Stop.

I had to go back and watch. I didn't see his hand movements until you mentioned it. I wonder if that was an homage or if he really does that haha.

Oh poor Bill. Did the guy turn you down for a date? Lol. I actually like the Lovari track alot. Deifnitely can't touch the original, but I'm going to take that tyrant you just went on as having a personal experience with the guy.

Nobody can touch the "Emotions" original, but he definitely sounds alot better than other male contemporary singers out there today. I heard that a duo or group remade "Breakdown", but I can't find it and I Googled to no avail.

Anthony is not jealous that he is not Mariah's boy toy. Do you know that Anthony is bisexual and prefers men?

Here we go again. The perfect example of a delusional fan. "The same fate as Katy's lattest album and singles." For your information, Katy Perry's new album debuted at #1 and had the highest sales for a female artist since Lady Gaga's "Joanne" (album) and the lead single "Chained To The Rhythm" reached #4 on the Billboard Hot 100.

I remember when Migrate charted on the Billboard Hot 100 at #92. Unfortunately I think that this was the reason that the record company didn't release it. "Oh it charted last week, but it is off the Hot 100 this week, so it lost its momentum." If they would've looked at it this way - it gained Hot 100 with no single release, no video, and no promotion - then they would've realized how much bigger it could be if they actually gave it the single treatment. I notice that the same thing happened with "Side Effects" and "I'm That Chick", which both also charted on various Billboard charts. I can almost guarantee that that was the record company's excuse for not releasing any of those as singles either. Sometimes the execs are clueless.

So what if it [is] just a once in a lifetime chance in all of their career? Are you trying to diminish this amazing achievement? You make it sound like they are going to be losers if this is the only hit they ever have. Sorry, but I'd rather be known as the person with the longest running #1 song in history even if I had no other hits after that. Some of you Mariah fans are really delusional and come up with the most unbelievable excuses and put downs for other artists.

Betty, it is actually all truth, and it's not very nice of Mariah to give lackluster performances when her fans spend their hard earned money to see her.

The singer Lovari has just released remixes of his remake of Mariah's "To be Around You" from the "Emotions" album. Here's the link for both. Of the two, I prefer the Keith Kemper Mix.

Emotions, To Be Around You remake (74,985)
by The Real Deal from USA
| |
|
|
Next week, the Mariah Carey remake of To Be Around You from Emotions will be released. According to this news story, the album by Lovari will be released on May 12th. Hopefully it will be released as a single, but if not, we can always stream it on Spotify to gather some promo for MC and the original version.

Mariah Carey remake on new album (74,485)
by The Real Deal from USA
| |
|
|
This should be interesting to hear, coming from the perspective of a male singer. I'm curious as to why he chose a non single. Recording artist and actor Lovari revisits the sounds of the early 90s r&b/pop realm with his forthcoming album "The Rhythm Of Life", scheduled for release in May 2017. The album contains 13 brand new songs, and in addition, includes a remake of Mariah Carey’s "Around You" (from her 1991 "Emotions" album).

A friend of mine who was a big Spanish music listener actually loved Angels Cry and played it over and over again. He was a non Mariah fan, so that is saying something. It was the duet verison.

Male singer remaking "Emotions" track (66,563)
by The Real Deal from USA
| |
|
|
On singer Lovari's FB page, he speaks about recording a Mariah remake for his upcoming album. He says something to the effect of "I'm not gonna give it away", but if you listen to the vocals in the studio session in the background, it clearly is "To Be Around You" from the "Emotions" album.

I agree. I am hoping that this is part of some "social experiment" that MC and her team are concocting in conjunction with the reality show. I am hoping that it is a type of "What Would You Do" segment that Mariah is on in, seeing if anybody would reach out to help her. The reason that I say this is because in all of the recent interviews (and press conference), Mariah seems very composed and down to earth as she always has, and it is definitely not reflective of the photos that we have been seeing of her on IG drunk, wasted, etc. This may also go into conjunction with her former dancer's post a few months back where he congratulated Bryan Tanka on his "new role". Let's hope that's what this is.

Another MC remake/cover song in the works? (65,001)
by The Real Deal from USA
| |
|
|
The singer Lovari (who previously posted an MC acapella on his FB page) uploaded a post on Instagram last night singing If It's Over, with the following caption: "Late night acapella vocal moments getting my Mariah Carey on. New album preview lamb lambily @mariahcarey (with her IG hashtag)." I'm assuming he is remaking If It's Over. Or is it a secret collab with MC? I doubt that because I don't think he is that well known. Reagrdless, still cool to see a younger generation covering her tracks, especially ones that weren't singles. His ig is @Lovari_

My wishlist for additional singles from each album (57,264)
by The Real Deal from USA
| |
|
|
I wanted to run through my fantasy wishlist of singles that I would've loved to have seen released from each MC album. To prevent myself form going overboard, I have only chosen one form each album. Lol. Here it goes: 1) Mariah Carey - Vanishing 2) Emotions - To Be Around You 3) Music Box - Now That I Know 4) Daydream - Melt Away 5) Butterfly - Babydoll (since "Breakdown" was commissioned as a double single with "My All", otherwise, it would've been my first choice) 6) Rainbow - After Tonight (the unreleased verison with Luis Miguel) 7) Glitter - Lead The Way 8) Charmbracelet - The One 9) The Emancipation Of Mimi - Stay The Night 10) E=MC2 - Migrate 11) Memoirs Of An Imperfect Angel - Inseparable 12) Me. I Am Mariah... The Elusive Chanteuse - Meteorite (alot of lambs may be suprised that I didn't choose Faded lol)

Magazine interview Lovari mentions Mariah influence (57,263)
by The Real Deal from USA
| |
|
|
Louder Than War Magazine in the UK features an interview this week with US singer Lovari, and he mentions MC's influence for his upcoming album. Here is the link. Currently, where do you see your music going, in what direction? "I'm going to use more of my voice. I want to showcase my vocals more. The industry doesn't have any more vocals, it's very computerized. Even the R&B. I think it's very computerized. I want to bring it back to the early Mariah Carey, the early Whitney Houston."

It is Mariah's fault, not JD (full explanation below) (44,735)
by The Real Deal from USA
| |
|
|
If you listen to all the interviews since the release of #Beautiful, then you will clearly see the promotion/single release choices have all been made solely by Mariah. She has said it in her own words. In one interview, prior to "The Art Of Letting Go" single release, JD said, "I wanted Mariah to release this hot hip hop club banger that we did, but she's not ready to release it yet. I told her it could be a summer smash." That song, as we know now turned out to be [...]. It was supposed to follow #Beautiful. Mariah herself said that initially she was supposed to sing "another song" for the BET Honors Awards "sitting on the piano", but that was before she decided on "You're Mine" to be released instead. We know now that the "other song sitting on the piano" was [...], as that is how she performed it on the [...] show concert series last month. It was also [...] that pushed her release back [...], not Jermaine or the record company. She stated that, "I don't feel the album is ready yet." But in the meantime, she was appearing on Jimmy Fallon, MTV, David Letterman. These were promotional appearances that were meant to [...], should it have been released [...]. Alot of fans want [...] as a single, but if you listen without prejudice, the production sounds [...] to You're Mine, as does the buildup at the end. A casual listener might flip through the song on the radio thinking that it's You're Mine.
