For some reason you are obsessed with Mariah's family life and speculating about drugs, her brother and sister, relationships, etc. Certainly you have one thing right. Any family where a mother calls the police on the daughter who supports her lavish lifestyle is dysfunctional. Nikki and Andrew (49,658) by THE TRUTH from USA Hi Nikki and thanks for explaining to the pedestrians about an earpiece, monitors, and such. I have to say that during the Tommy Mottola period this would not have and never did happen. The reason being that this was the "pre diva" period and Mariah went to sound check so if there ever was an issue it got resolved there and not in front of the whole world. When she began thinking it was okay to skip sound check and show up hours late for whatever, that was the begin of her downward spiral. Andrew, your arrogance is staggering. Where do you get off saying when anyone should retire? Further questioning what Mariah's vocal ability was pre 2001 is pure foolishness. Mariah was the greatest female vocalist of her generation and has simply allowed her emotional frailty and ego to sideline a 25 year career which was stacked with accomplishments that have not been matched by another female singer to date. The important thing would be to write with strong writers whose music continue to impact pop culture in the present day. I do think that Bruno M would be a good match. Even if she sat down with some pianists or guitarists and just dug in, spent some time in the, "wood shop" like in the old days pre fame, got back to the love of making music she'd kill it. It needs to be about the music, not the fame, image, or celebrity. The only way she can make a meaningful come back is to truly embrace the music and forget about the hype. I just heard those vocals and haters please, shut up. It was very arrogant and inexcusable to be 3 hours late but those vocals were just Mariah being her usual musically brilliant self but doing it with a cold. I think she was embarrased to just not show up and she did give it her very best. Mariah should keep her clothes on, get healthy, and focus on what got here, her voice. Some artists forget that it's about music and get so wrapped up in their own egos that it becomes all about them, their looks, their celebrity. Botox, stripteases, cosmetic surgery, diamonds, none of that has anything to do with music. When it stopped being about the music and genuine gratitude/appreciation of the millions of loyal fans who, "made it happen" in the first place for her, that's when the walls started tumbling down. Vocal rest (47,135) by THE TRUTH from USA To those people who are commenting that "MC has had plenty of vocal rest and how much more does she need", I have to say: shut up. You have no idea how hard the drinking, flying, lack of sleep, etc are on a singer's voice. Vocal rest done properly would include very little of the above. Lighten up, it's not all about what you want from MC, life goes on and we all do the best we can. If you feel so compelled to criticize her work ethic maybe you should take up the mic. Hero (47,091) by THE TRUTH from USA MC should not be performing with her voice in that condition and the fact that she is simply and obviously is a testament to the complete absence of any type of support structure around her. If she had proper management they would not let her tour and get her the help she needs. Right now there is a mad scramble for certain people to grab as much as they can while there's anything left to grab. It's very sad but not a very new story in the entertainment industry. As to my avatar, what do you care? Does anybody on this forum really know the "truth" about what actually happened between Eminem and MC. Get over it everybody, you don't know the truth, only they do but do you really think either of them would have written Obsessed or The Answer if there wasn't much more to the story than you were fed by MCs publicity machine? Eminem is a lot of things besides being an incredible artist, he's someone who has never played games or minced words, MC on the other hand it goes without saying has been challenged in the are of, telling the "truth". As far as being vocal about my opinions, that's what democracy is all about but then Stephen is living in a monarchy. I guess you don't know much about that. It's pretty funny how you went from being all holier than thou and criticizing MC on a personal level as if you had any standing to do so and then when you were called out on it you got all on your high horse like you were defending her (give me a break). Great idea about Netflix, although "somebody" won't take the initiative and just "put them up" so why don't you take the lead and start a campaign. Get all her fans to e-mail Netflix requesting Mariah Carey specials. I'd suggest you put a list together and distribute it to fans so that there's some cohesion, you can't expect Netflix to think for themselves. My guess is it can happen and you could be responsible. I believe it would be a terrific boost for Mariah's career. Particularly unplugged would win over a ton of young fans who may never have heard of her. (Saturday 9 August 2014; 15:30)

It doesn't take a rocket scientist to see what's going on. Very sad. As far as the song, yes it could have legs in the clubs but is that really what she needs right now? Besides it really is more suited for a non singer, JLo or Madonna maybe. Mariah needs a monster ballad but more than anything she needs to take time off, rest, and go back to the drawing board without all the leeches, vultures, and parasites she's surrounded by. Radio and women over 40 (45,495) by THE TRUTH from USA "Truth" be told, if she disappears for awhile, throws out the trash she's surrounded by, releases a stone cold smash (not off this album), is supported by a team of powerhouse movers and shakers ie Jimmy Iovine, Benny Medina, etc and follows direction, she'll have more #1s if not.
