Where are Mariah's songs from the vault? (102,493) by jaker20 from US Where are those songs that she claim to exist? Where are they? Heck, what is she even doing as an artist right now? I'm glad she's happy and collecting coins during the holidays and barely doing anything else for the rest of the year, but it's sad she's barely doing anything anymore. She is lowkey lazy. I mean Elton John is 20 years older than her and is barely singing on his collabs and people eat it up. Because you know why? Because that's what he does, he's an artist, he creates music, he collaborates, he has ideas that he puts into his art. He's not a wine merchant or selling liquor or perfume. Is Mariah trying to be Rihanna? Mariah can literally just whisper throughout a song and do some creative samples of her hits, and it will give lambs something to stan and follow her with, and she can't even do that. I mean her giving Its A Wrap some attention brought back Memoirs to the new gen that it's literally her top most streamed album right now. All she needs to do is something. Die For You (102,315) by jaker20 from US I'm not a chart expert, but I think BB count remixes all the time. The only difference is who gets credited, which has a different rule. The rule is that the remix has to sell more than the original (or I think there's a specific ratio), for the featured artist to get credited. For example, Mariah wasn't credited for Latto's BER last year. In spite of her contribution actually helping the song immensely. Die For You (102,313) by "MariahHater" from Hell I think there was a certain time were BB counts remixes towards the original, then scrapped it as Mariah is the queen of remixes and it helped her maintain chart longevity. Older Lambs, correct me if I am wrong. I don't know if it's unfair for her but most of the time they are unfair with her as she is a monster not to be reckoned with back in the peak of her glory days. Die For You (102,311) by jaker20 from US Shake It Off. The song was released way too close to WBT, otherwise it would have gone to no.1. Or maybe she didn't know WBT would linger for that long. With that said, I don't know how much a remix really helps a song during that time. This remix to push a song in the charts is only recent and feels really scammy. I think there was that opportunity last year with Latto and BER but it wasn't rolled out properly. I said last year that if someone can turn a modern version of Dreamlover into a sample, the same way Latto and her team twisted Fantasy (and Mariah herself sampled Tom Tom Club's version), and then have a remix of it ready to go, it would be a huge hit. Sort of a BER but in reverse. But ideas like these needs talented collaborators, which I hope Mariah would be more open to. Frankly Mariah's best collaborators right now are Roc & Roe. They make her look at the world differently and bring her to the modern times. I had thought her partners will bring that kind of influence and something something inspiration to her life, but Nick Cannon turned out to be a loser, and her current beau has no creative bone in his body. Which song do you think would be a good idea to release as a remix, and with whom? I think the feature would really have to stand out for the song to at least be top 10. The return of Memoirs and Flowers from Miley whose career was supposedly over just shows anything is possible. It is just a right song and right timing. I would like Mariah do something like Love Me Like You Do or Diamonds. I really love A No No and I wouldn't be surprised that goes viral at some point. I think Caution paved the way to AIWFC's resurgence in some way and eventually topping the charts for the first time. It opened this generation's minds that she is a creative artist. Stadium goes completely black, then the flood lights, then a light sprinkling of artificial snow as the opening chords of AIWFCIY starts. Interrupted by a loud "it's time" which leads right into ODB's Fantasy remix intro. Can splice up Obsessed, I Know What You Want, Honey, and It's Like That. Do a little ABMB and WBT and end with either Hero or a hologram of Whitney where she duets on When You Believe. It would be epic. Done right it would showcase her catalogue but also how Iconic she is. Outfit: no dresses, just her black pants and top she had for the Daydream album cover. Slip on a faux fur coat for a song or two but keep it simple. Maybe come out with a Santa hat at the beginning before whipping it off, as a melting metaphor. (Monday 13 February 2023; 16:16)

Yes of course no one is denying this but fact is she needs to be releasing new songs not trying to make those old songs "happen" so to speak. They are still accessible Mariah songs, they are still very pop and can have a second life with a few cute viral moments here and there. With the Gen Z and Alpha, they will dig it because they still fresh. Obsessed did go viral a few years ago because it has a timeless chorus. In fact I listen to E=MC2 more than Emancipation. Now there is about a dozen songs I listen to regularly between that and Memoirs. Emancipation is undoubtedly a masterpiece, but are you really going to listen to it every day for 15 years? That is the beauty of Mariah's catalog, there's still so much to explore because some of them didn't necessarily explore when they were released initially. I find H.A.T.E.U to be absolutely haunting, Standing O has a really great beat, and I used to hate Angels Cry and I bet if she lends it to a show it can have a huge revival. It sounds timeless. Memoirs is underrated (102,109) by Terna from Nigeria Apart from "Obsessed" being released as a single and being a monster hit it was, I really did not see another tangible single release from "Memoirs" as to me Mariah was not really in search of [hits] per say. The album is "moody" as someone here pointed out and none of the songs single material. But then again, having only one producer team Tricky and The Dream was to blame for that. I didn't realize that the album has only sold 3 million copies so far. Our chances of seeing any type of anniversary release is problem slim to zero because of no extra tracks. But I would love to see a pride version with Frank Ocean (How Much), Lil Nas X (Did I Do That?), Sam Smith (Crybaby), Billy Porter (TGIFY), and Daley (Can't Take That Away). Only time will tell.
