I've known Mariah from the start, but she did not impress me. I liked her Unplugged concert, but that was all. When her song Hero came out, I bought the single because I liked the song. But I wasn't a fan yet. That did change when I watched the UK chart on MTV and Without You entered the chart at number 1. There wasn't a video for this single, so they only had an audio for a few seconds. After these seconds I was sold. I started buying everything she released, from CD-Singles to cassettes and DVD's. I now have a collection of almost 1500 items. I've met Mariah in person once, although I had to wait because she was six hours late. The security guy then told us we couldn't touch her. When it was my turn, I just touched her anyway and she didn't mind. She also knows about my website, which I started 18 years ago, because I received a letter from her laywer ten years ago. He summoned me to quit the website and hand over all the money I made from it. Ofcourse I did not. For some reason she and her team never liked my website. They never ever mentioned it when they had a page of fansites on her official website. And now I think mine is the only fansite left.

What is your problem? Nobody is forcing you to sign the petition, so how are we wasting your time? But you waisted your own time by writing that stupid message. And why do you have to insult us by suggesting we're not fans because we would like to connect to Mariah? Isn't that something all fans want? You say Mariah only talks to her fans, please tell me, when was the last time? Mariah is a singer and without her fans she would be nothing. So it is not too much to ask of her to simply address her fans once in awhile. It would only take her a couple of minutes. By the way, I was the second one to sign the petition.

Didn't you say (and I quote): "Do the research I did. I stated facts, not opinions." Now you say you didn't research, so you were lying to us. How can we take anything you say serious from now on?

I also did some research and I found out that Jennifer Lopez has won numerous awards as an actress. Here are a few of them: NCLR Bravo Award for "Money Train" (1995), ALMA Awards for "Selena" (1998) and "Out of Sight" (1999), Lone Star Film Award for "Selena" (1998), and Blockbuster Entertainment Award for "The Cell" (2001). So according to critics Jennifer is not considered one of the worst actresses, or else she wouldn't have won these awards (and I can't count the times she has been nominated). And you say "Anaconda" was Nicki Minaj's last hit. Also not true. "Only" (2014), "Hey Mama" (2015), "Truffle Butter" (2015) and "Down in the DM" (2016) were also Top 20 hits. Mariah's last Top 20 hits were "Obsessed" (2009) and "#Beautiful" (2013).

Every once in awhile there comes a new fan on this messageboard who proclaims he or she is a true fan, who believes Mariah can do no wrong. Everyone who doesn't agree with him or her is a so-called fan and not a true lamb. Well let me tell you a secret and maybe this might come as a shock to you: this messageboard is open to all fans. Not only for the blind fans who worship the ground Mariah walks on, but also for the real fans who know Mariah is a human being like the rest of us and can make mistakes. Please don't tell others how to be a fan and please don't tell me how to run this website.

Re: Visuals / Lemonade (61,824) (61,825)

Lemonade debuted at number one on the US Billboard 200, selling 485,000 copies in its first week (653,000 with additional equivalent-album units). Me. I Am Mariah... The Elusive Chanteuse debuted at number three on the Billboard 200 albums chart with sales of just 58,000 copies. As of April 2015, Mariah's album has sold 122,000 copies in the United States. (Billboard even speculated that its high ratio of first-week sales to total sales suggested that interest in the album came primarily from a group of die-hard fans.) Saying Lemonade did not make an impact is complete nonsense, it just makes you look silly. Why do have such a grudge against Beyoncé? Mariah clearly doesn't.

Not true. Almost every international single says "Mariah Carey & Whitney Houston", only the American singles say most of the time "Whitney Houston & Mariah Carey".

by Webmaster Eric from the Netherlands

I have to agree with Andrew. I think Mariah only gets the award because Mariah is a superstar, so that the GLAAD Award gets more publicity. Who has ever heard of this award before? Celebrities who deserve awards are people who will travel around to stop injustice, talk to world leaders about political issues, who are not afraid to speak their minds when they see something they don't like. People like Princess Diana, Angelina Jolie, Bono, Bruce Springsteen. Certainly not Mariah.

Where did you read or hear Mariah doesn't like covers of Prince songs? Mariah said: "One thing about him that was kinda cool and funny and made me laugh is that he didn't like when people did his songs. Otherwise I would have done something of his, just to do it, but I knew that wasn't his thing." Before you say something dumb, learn to read first.

If you don't follow my rules ("try to write understandable English, with the proper use of dots and capitals"), your messages won't get posted. And besides, your messages are very very very long, full of self-pity. We already know you're bi, that you impregnated a girl when you were 16 years old, that you, your daughter and your mother are sick, that you were married twice and divorced twice by the age of 29, that you don't have money and still manages to travel to Helsinki from Spain, that Mariah made you false promises so she didn't had to listen to your whining, that you gave her an expensive necklace instead of selling the item and use the money for rent, that you're still in Helsinki on vacation, etc.

Maybe I will get crucified for this post, but I have to write it anyway. Juan Manuel Benabu from España, I feel sorry that you're sick and got violated twice. But why did you tell this to Mariah and everyone on this messageboard (and in such details)? So that Mariah and us might like you better? Correct me if I'm wrong, but you almost sound proud of being sick, so you get a lot more privileges than the other fans do. And attacking other fans because they feel cheated is just wrong. Because you're sick doesn't mean that Tiina should feel ashamed because she was robbed of so much money. I always have the feeling that the less fortunate among us have more compassion with others, but with you I get the feeling you feel superior to the rest of us. I really hope I'm wrong.

Re: The PR problem (61,135) (61,136)
by Webmaster Eric from the Netherlands

I do agree with Andrew (yes, miracles do happen) and Tiina. If you pay a lot of money (and I think 700 euro is really a lot of money) for a ticket, or if you are a fan from the beginning and spend tens of thousands euro on CD's and singles (like I did), Mariah hardly has any time for you. But if you have a sad story, Mariah takes her time (and you don't even have to be a real fan). Maybe listening to a sad story is good for television, but the die-hard fans will be left with a bad taste in their mouth. But this goes for almost every celebrity. Being sick or having a sad story will give you more chance to meet your idol than loving your idol to death and spending a lot of money on them. Fortunately, I've met Mariah in person once, although I had to wait because she was six hours late. The security guy then told us we couldn't touch her. When it was my turn, I just touched her anyway and she didn't mind.

Reading Stella's answers to the comments some fans made, I was wondering if the title of The Sun's article should've been: "Mariah Carey gets fans to sign bizarre contract that protects her if they die... or if they get killed by Stella".

Re: The 90s (60,687) (60,688)
by Webmaster Eric from the Netherlands

I'm sorry to say this, but in the 90s Mariah was never considered a serious songwriter. Everyone always said that she was a great singer, but that she could be much bigger if her songs (and especially her lyrics) were better. And to be honest, her lyrics weren't always that great. I know what I'm talking about, I've been a fan since 1993 and I have this website since 1998.

You're implying that Rihanna, Lady Gaga and Jay-Z are controlled by the Illuminati (and therefore they are evil) and that the Illuminati killed Whitney and Michael Jackson. Sure I will call you an idiot if you write messages like these.

I don't find this article negative at all, and seeing the reactions of other fans, you're the only one who thinks so. Regarding "negative" articles on my website, almost 15 years ago I asked the fans if the only want to see positive articles on my website and the majority didn't like that. They want to know everything about Mariah, the good and the bad. Other websites only posted the positive articles and see what happened to these websites (Mariah Daily Journal, Mariah Connection, Mariah's Heroes etc).

I don't understand why people keep calling "Oz the Great and Powerful" a flop. The box office was $493.3 million. (The box office for "The Butler" was $176.6 million and for "Precious" it was $63.6 million.)
