She went viral all over instagram and 90% of the comments were people celebrating her humor. Go and read the comments on the original post alone. Mariah greatest unused talent is being herself. I will never forget when she hosted some EU talk show or when she visited the breakfast club. People love Mariah when she is being real, and it's crazy how relatable she gets (a soon to be freaking billionaire) around certain people who bring out the best out of her.
So yeah I disagree.

Beyond happy for Mariah and Latto, I love how much appreciation, love and good vibes she sends Mariah's way, on the internet, on the gram, on the blogs and on the mainstream media. I love love love her but she did Nicki Minaj dirty and I need sis to fix that. Mariah really made a classic out of a classic. The song has sold over 1.4 million pure copies to date, it's still Latto's highest selling song. As I'm currently boycotting Spotify, I use Apple Music and it's still her most popular track on Apple Music. It's crazy how Mariah is in most of her collaborates biggest hits.
I wish Mariah the genius took a break and she really went hungry with her tracklist and added a selection of the hottest artists. It would do wonders for her.
Dj Khaled (as a producer) Mike will made it (c'mon we need another song from them, Faded is still that girl and still hits me the same way) Max Martin (c'mon why are they playing with us) Pharrell (they could make magic again if they wanted to) Nile Rodgers (I love love love him) Kygo (on his album though, give him one of your classics and not a #1 lol, just to have fun with and to reintroduce to the younger generations) David Guetta (a remix from the songs in the album) Diplo (controversial but the hit that could come out would be sick)
Artists: Giveon (just imagine the low notes, the harmonies, the R&B classic vibes) Drake (a really happy mid tempo song for the summer) Justin Bieber (a mellow late night slow jam, 2023 meets Mariah) Chris Brown (another banger because that's all that boy drops and Mariah would truly shine, two musical genius in their own ways).
Ugh the females are harder so you get two unexpected ones.
Taylor Swift (a female empowerment song, uplifting, a warm and luscious sound, r&b/country song meets 23' pop). Ayra Starr (she is the moment, Kelly Rowland was the first huge American star that gave her a feature, for someone who is so musically gifted and who earned her place as one of the most successful artists yet even more talented its really a shame Mariah hasn't done a afro-beat song, afro music is taking over the entire world and charts around the globe dahling)
I have listened to it for 8 years and its growth is beautiful to watch, that genre needs to be explored by the the queen of music.

For some reason older generations seem to have a problem with Tik Tok, but the app remains one of the most popular ones and it's the most popular app for teens. Mariah is ascending and securing her place for the future.
Good news for the day: Touch My Body had its biggest day ever on Spotify receiving over 200k streams. The woman released her 18 #1 hit 18 years later and now 15 years later going viral. Mariah has always been ahead of time.

Queen of Tik Tok? Please not. Queen of music or of RnB suits better. I read that Tik Tok is banned in two states of the US, is that correct? Would anyone miss it? I don't need it for sure. I'm waiting for real music news while I'm enjoying her dance mixes.

Despite many desperate attempts to discredit Mariah, the numbers and her accolades keeps booming. I love it and I love Mariah so much. The undisputed queen of Tik Tok has another hit on her hands, it has over 300k videos and currently #3 on the Tik Tok charts. Mariah and her music will live one long after all of us are ten feet under the ground.

The greatest songwriter (102,936)
by Mariahsbaby from usa
| |
|
|
All about Mariah posted a beautiful Mariah quote today, "Not everybody realizes that I write my own songs and they definitely don't realize that I produce them."
Mariah is without doubt the most successful female songwriter and producer and top 5 of all time (men and women) included. What Kelly said was so accurate. Mariah isn't talked about in those circles when great songwriters/producers are mentioned, and I'm sorry one award three decades later isn't enough, Mariah deserves 10 other prestigious "icon" songwriting/producers awards.
Mariah has won so many songwriting awards but they weren't televised not that nobody really watches those anyways, like the fact that she has over 33 BMI awards for songwriting.
I mean this imperfect angel is unbelievably successful yet it don't compare to her talents, A gracious musical genius who devoted her life to her music and her fans. She is a real life Barbie, has an overly girly persona, she is so sexy and she knows it, a person of faith. Many people can't handle a women who dares to speak up, knows what she wants and who likes to be in control. History has shows that usually has insecure men bothered. The critics now mostly resort to baseless accusations and try to go after her character when so many from the industry and not just the stars has said she is one of the nicest people in the industry.
The facts and the numbers will remain while the subjective commentary will be buried.

Sad when fans seems to also count her out. Congratulations to Mariah, Latto and Dj Khaled for selling over 1.3 million copies in US alone.
Today I will be celebrating by listening to that song, MIAM and Caution, the rest of the catalogue will be ignored just like Mariah ignores most of her amazing catalogue.

Mariah deserves better fans, Mariah deserves a better team, Mariah deserves a happier ending. I love to see as much of her as possible but I wouldn't be mad if she just dipped and released music from an island.
Many cry over "Corny Like fritos" yet the amazing song made more noise than half of her catalogue as standalone tracks. I wouldn't mind the overpraising of Mariahs earlier works if it wasn't on the expense off her later stuff. Her music from 2000-2023 gets more streams, more acclaim, more praise every year minus the "soon to be most successful song of all time" (all I want).
Mariah Carey simply is the greatest female songwriter due to her witty, relatable, tearjerking, funny, heartbreaking and sometimes unserious lyrics. Mariah does what Mariah does and I'm waiting for the time she truly disappoints me musically.

You just speak with opinions and try to pass them off as facts. First things first, the era Mariah reigned supreme - the 90's - cannot be compared with this day we live in with the internet, streaming, YouTube and social media. Mariah had none of these and still had her foot on every other single artists necks, Both male and female. Her numbers speak volumes - this is someone as young as she was, went toe to toe with Michael Jackson, Whitney Houston, Céline Dion, Toni Braxton, Michael Bolton, Sheryl Crowe, Alanis Morrisette, The Spice Girls, Mary J. Blige, Tevin Campbell, Aaliyah, Brandy, Prince, Monica, Madonna Boyz II Men etc all of whom it should be noted were also in their prime, And still came out on top winning multiple awards (Billboard artist of the decade and millennium artist to name a few) that reflect her impact and popularity. Mariah made over 1 billion US dollars for Sony - one artist alone, Until Beyoncé, Taylor, Rihanna and even Madonna can match these "tip of the iceberg" statistics I just mentioned, they are not anywhere near Mariah Carey in popularity. Social media is all smoke and mirrors and that "fame" is false and does not translate to anything tangible when it comes down to the real. You of all people should know this with numbers being fabricated today with follower count and all.

Yet Time Magazine declared Mariah the most successful and enduring pop star. None of those ladies have accomplished what Mariah has in the industry. What I like about Mariah's career is despite her incredibly highs she has also had some lows unlike the other ladies. In my book that adds value.
Aside from tours, she has more of everything you could possibly think of. Celine doesn't sell much and her streaming is really low in comparison to her peers.

It's probably right. All those artists you listed are incredibly popular, absolute juggernauts of the industry. Way more popular than Mariah was during her peak. The only real comparable is Celine. Her career is longer, her hits bigger, her tours and residencies gross more, and her sales likely bigger at this point. Mariah's career is great, but others have had better ones.

You must be confusing sweet Nana Ruby with her actually parental grandmother, whom we don't know much about aside from that fact that she is Venezuelan. But the infamous and loving Nana Ruby is Mariah's grandfathers second wife.
Why would she separate the paternal grandparents and make the point that one was Venezuelan and the other black, I'm assuming the real grandma was white.
I don't recall Mariah mentioning her grandfather's real mother more than once, I would love to know more about her Venezuelan roots. I also don't think Mariah really got to experience that side of her roots.

We actually find out in the #1 best seller memoir by hers truly. That Mariah's father's father, his name was Bob Carey. His mother was from Venezuela while his father was black.
Ps: Even though you can be a black Venezuelan, most people don't know the difference between race, nationality and ethnicity.

You do know that the "black Venezuelan" thing is not something made up by the lambs. But it was mentioned herself by Mariah on her interviews when people asked her on her dad. You must be a young lamb that don't watches Mariah's old interviews. Look it up. She said that "my mom is Irish and my dad is black Venzuelan".

Mariah Carey is MC, just say you fell in love with Sony's manufactured imaginary doll and move on.
Mariah Carey greatest assets will always be her songwriting, Leona Lewis and the rest of the girls that can really sing is the testimony to that. Another prophecy of mine is the girl who sang the tribute for Mariah on the Songwriters Hall of Fame who can hit every imaginable note but if she doesn't pick up the pen and aims to exceed on that will never have any real success.
PS: I love Mariah's vocally challenging songs but somehow they are the least streamed and the least talked about songs. Nobody really cares for all that, 7/10 songs of her #1s are the easiest songs in her catalogue. Mariah is a true musician and she will forever be that girl.
