I agree with you - unless she has financial advisors who don't have her best interest in mind. There is a precedent for finance people who will steal money from the very people they are supposed to protect. I do remember a time when she hired a horrible manager Stella, which was hurting her career.

Let's be honest, Mariah Carey will never be broke, does she spend to much? Probably. But she will have financial advisors that keep an eye on her wealth and income. And there's no way the relationship with her and James ended due to money, he's a billionaire and was recently reported to have suffered a breakdown after Mariah. I wouldn't believe everything the newspapers report. Maybe she has been told to curb her spending against her earnings so late on in her career, but she will never be broke.

Thank you. I have dealt with a lot of hate from people who are anti-Trump and just dismiss me as being uneducated and not knowing any better. Working in health care, I actually did better on my 401K, and took home more money with far less inflation than under the current administration. So it's nice to know that among the MC community there is still diversity of thought, and other ideas are still respected.

E=MC2 off on the beaten path (106,866)
by RL from USA
| |
|
|
I remember that album garnered the largest first week sales of her career. I always thought that she had to stop promotion of the album when she originally miscarried. I could be wrong, but if that's the case, it makes sense that she had more pressing things she needed to take care of.

E=MC2 off on the beaten path (106,865)
by Robert-Anthony from United States

I have always wondered why Bye Bye, I Stay In Love, and I'll Be Lovin U Long Time all failed to have the same top 10 success as Touch My Body. I just can't pinpoint why pop radio didn't give those singles the same airplay impressions as Touch My Body. Were they weak single choices or pop radio was moving away from playing R&B songs on pop radio? There was a significant shift in pop radio from 2008-2010.

To those celebrating today. Enjoying her contributions: Fourth of July, America the Beautiful, and her National Anthem performance from Superbowl immediately post Glitter. If that was her low point period, she really still shined. Happy 4th to all.

After Tonight, Heartbreaker remix, There For Me (106,672)
by RL from USA
| |
|
|
Sounds like the sound/volume issues from the original version have been fixed on the remastered version of After Tonight. And on the Heartbreaker remix, I heard extra whispers in the beginning that I hadn't heard on the one released back in '99. Nice to have There For Me digitally.

Adressed to Infinity haters (106,344)
by RL from USA

Agreed. It's not her best song, but I don't understand why that song is loathed so much. As a track it's fine, nothing triggering in terms of hate of an artist's work.

Adressed to Infinity haters (106,342)
by Matty from Vancouver Canada
| |
|
|
This is specially addressed to the Infinity haters. Can you explain to me what you dislike? It went to #82 on Billboard, it was well reviewed but critics, and the orchestration what brilliant. I'm curious why people that hate it, dislike it? My only personal grip is that the orchestration is so hopeful, and the lyrics are diss.

Migrate (103,724)
by Robert-Anthony from United States
| |
|
|
I was just thinking about Migrate and how it was such misstep in her career that cost her a #1 song. Mariah Carey's top five negative career decisions are the following:
1. Migrate - Island/Def Jam's decision not releasing it as the second single.
2. Glitter - I don't need to say why.
3. American Idol - She was made a mockery of by the producers for ratings. Let's have the viewers tune in each week to see Mariah and Nicki fight on live TV.
4. Through The Rain - Prior to Charmbracelet, MC had never released a ballad as her first single.
5. A No No - The failure of securing Cardi B. was a shame and let down after all the hype about the talk of Cardi B. on the remix.
