Vote Rock & Roll Hall of Fame (105,383)
by Nicole from US
| |
|
|
What's the fan vote for? As per the website:
Nominee ballots will be sent to an international voting body of more than 1,000 artists, historians, and members of the music industry. An artist's musical impact and influence on other artists, length and depth of career and body of work as well as innovation and superiority in style and technique are taken into consideration. Inductees will be announced in late April. The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame 2024 Induction Ceremony will take place in Cleveland this fall with date and on-sale information to be announced.

Talk of the charts said it's close again. As of morning of December 10 Mariah Carey's "All I Want For Christmas Is You" and Brenda Lee's "Rockin' Around The Christmas Tree" are looking to closely compete for #1 again on next week's Billboard Hot 100 (December 23rd chart), as the former begins to accelerate faster on streaming.

Qatar wedding performance (103,694)
by Nicole from US
| |
|
|
A lambily friend of mine showed me an article regarding how having COVID can change the vocal folds and I didn't believe him first. But I went and searched at google and found a bunch of researches related to vocal fold paralysis with Covid. All I could think of is how Celine got affected with her voice recently and then Mimi having issues with her live voice. I don't know if they both had the virus but we can always have the benefit of the doubt. If that really was the cause of the drastic changes they both are going through, then we're just hoping for a miracle at this point.

I saw the same videos and from what I saw, her Mike was mostly off. The backing track was very prevalent and is making its appearance more and more in her shows these days. Expecting a live show from a "singer" is asking too much? Expecting a singer to sound good is asking too much? No one expects her to sound like 90's Mariah but we do expect her to sound good.

Forbes richest women, no Mariah (102,811)
by Nicole from US
| |
|
|
So on the first of June, Forbes published a list of the richest self-made women, 100 women in fields of careers. For music, Rihanna (20) leads $1.4B, Taylor (34), Madonna (45), Beyoncé (48), Celine (56), Dolly Parton (59) and Barbra (61) with $430M. I cannot help but think if this list is even accurate or does Mariah not share her income accurately in tax books lol.

WBT played in CVs (102,757)

Right here in Bala Cynwyd in Philadelphia area made me happy as a lamb. Katy Perry's Roar played and then followed by WBT. And boy I hear a lot of of women singing in the background. I hope Mariah knows how much of a genius she is in penning such a classic that makes a lot of people sing and memorize all the words and not just like Oprah pretending to know. And yes Katy, Mariah is famous for a throwback, very very famous.

Stacey, your post got me thinking again. Why didn't MC release more remix albums during her height of her career? They would have done extremely well. We have only gotten one official remix album - The Remixes.

Die For You (102,300)
by Norman from USA

With this recent remix by The Weeknd feat Ariana debuting at #1 this, it got me thinking about a past single that never really got a shot but should have been a single (not necessarily talking about Migrate). Which song do you think would be a good idea to release as a remix, and with whom? I think the feature would really have to stand out for the song to at least be top 10. There's obviously a lot of material to choose from, but I can't say I have one that stands out - maybe Obsessed? Melt Away? #Beautiful? What do you guys think?

I hope next year someone offers Mariah a halftime show and pressure her to perform and dance like there's no tomorrow. At this point, the only way for Mimi to get back in the game is to surprise with something unexpected. Come on. Make Tanaka work just for a day. Lol.

Re: Just a thought, let's be kind (101,400) (101,413)
by Nicole from US

I do believe we all agree that we all love Mariah. To speak for myself I have grown listening to her and admiring her voice from the beginning from her first album up to the 25th anniversary of Butterfly. She has been very kind to us by still giving us a lot of material and merchandise. Some people may or may not think she owes us super fans anything but on our end, the lambily has also been kind to her, by being loyal, by purchasing her merchandise, by buying all tracks remixes or what not that she comes out up this minute. Some of us have been very kind by being protective of her and her voice for years to the point of being in denial, lipsyncing or prerecorded track or whatever. We fight for her and try to convince her naysayers that she is the best vocalist of all time, not only during Christmas but all the time. A lot of lambs even got tattoos to show devotion and love for Mariah. I had a dog I named Jack because I was crazy over her. We're just hopeful that she can still perform and shut down all the haters, even one performance, just show everyone you still got it. Sorry for the rant.

Re: Mariah McDonald's (98,907) (98,911)
by Nicole from US

I would like to see the positive side of Mariah being associated with McDonalds this holidays. With so much stuff going on in the US especially with inflation, gas prices, supplies stuck in ships, I believe providing her Christmas influence with McDs dollar menus would be kinda like a bright side for a lot of people struggling nowadays. At this point I don't think she cares about whether people see her eating Big Macs or filling herself with junk food but a lot of people just find her only relatable during Christmas. This probably is her and her management taking advantage of getting her paycheck as well as helping everyone in this sort of crisis. Dollar menus, I'll be ok just for December only.
