Mariah arrives for interview in hot pink satin negligee
As a multi-platinum selling artist, she usually has no confidence qualms about dressing her killer curves in close fitting clothes. But it seemed superstar singer Mariah Carey was uncharacteristically embarrassed of her figure as she chose to hide behind radio host Elvis Duran during a photo opportunity in New York on Wednesday morning.
Ditching her black cape to reveal a hot pink satin dress trimmed with orange lace, the slinky number looked like the Touch My Body hit maker was dressing for bed, rather than a public appearance. Mariah wore her long honey blonde hair straight past her shoulders, pairing the saucy ensemble with fishnet tights, black elbow length gloves, and black stilettos.
Host of z100 morning show Elvis looked only to happy to help the 43-year-old singer cover her insecurities by standing in front of the singer, and even pulling her leg around his waist. The Loverboy singer may have been feeling particularly self conscious as it has been rumoured Mariah could be expecting another baby with her husband Nick Cannon.
The musical couple already have two-year-old twins Moroccan and Monroe together, and has previously spoken out about her love of children. However, a spokesperson for the singer has denied the claims. Last year, Mariah admitted that her difficult first pregnancy with the twins had put her off extending her family any further.
Mariah, who suffered from pre-eclampsia and gestational diabetes during the pregnancy, explained: "If Nick could have the babies himself, then yeah, bring 'em on. We love kids. But to anyone who has ever carried twins, it is a totally different experience. You don't even know who you are. I had a very difficult pregnancy."
Mariah's appearance at z100 saw her premiere her new track You're Mine (Eternal) - taken from her upcoming 14th studio album, due for released on May 6th. The video to accompany the song, which also features Trey Songz, will be premiering on Wednesday evening on MTV in 159 territories worldwide at 7.50pm ET/PT.
Meanwhile, after it was claimed earlier this week that Mariah is keen to help Whitney Houston's daughter Bobbi Kristina launch a pop career. The Hero hitmaker and fellow former American Idol judge Randy Jackson were close friends of Whitney's and, following her death in February 2012, have now reportedly vowed to do all they can to help her daughter achieve her musical ambitions.
A source told RadarOnline.com: "Mariah and Randy were close friends of Whitney's and were heartbroken after she died suddenly in 2012. They kept in touch. Now Randy has decided he wants to make a full court press to help Bobbi Kristina become a star- and Mariah told him she wanted in, too. Mariah would love to step in and provide mentoring to BK because she and Randy have been so close and even worked together on last season's 'American Idol'. They have years of music experience between them and will share all their knowledge with Bobbi Kristina. Randy wants to move quickly and is presenting a plan for the potential star that gets her on the pop charts in under 12 months." (Mail Online)
