Mariah leaves fans puzzled by bizarre conversation
She has done thousands of television interviews in her career as a global pop star. But, for fans of Mariah Carey, few of them will have been as random as the one which was recorded for MTV, this week. The 43 year-old singer, who is a mother of two young children, was seen talking in a bizarre manner about her pet dogs - much the bemusement of onlookers.
Mariah was chatting to TV host Sway Calloway when the conversation happened, which saw her discuss her canine companions - including how one apparently tried to kill another by drowning it the bath with its paw. "I came back from the dentist and Nick brought me a puppy and I decided to call it ChaCha, so now we have a farm of dogs and the latest addition. Squeaky Beans is Cha Cha's daughter. But Squeaky Beans tried to kill her. Nobody could grasp what happened except my hairdresser, Randy. We love you, Randy."
Sipping champagne, she also claimed that one of the dogs had a "sympathy pregnancy" with twins at the same time she was also carrying her two children. At one point she then asked for help with her image from a member of staff, saying: "Can somebody fix me. Whatever happened that's wrong, just come on in and fix me"
Although the audience seemed to enjoy the interview, some online critics have been more critical. Specifically, Perez Hilton's website claimed she was "boozy" and "rambling". But the chart-topper seemed happy with her performance, in which she was toasted a pop legend.
Fittingly, the singer was there to promote her new single You're Mine (Eternal), which sees the singer cut a seductive figure in the video. Her latest appearance was as random as her trip to the Empire State Building in NYC on Thursday to turn on the monument's Valentine's Day lights.
Joined by three lucky couples that have been chosen to tie the knot on the year's most romantic day, it looked as though the Hero singer turned up in a dramatic wedding-style dress, much to the delight of fans. Putting her trademark curves front and centre, Mariah squeezed herself into the full length, long sleeved white gown, which she wore with matching opera gloves and a fur stole around her shoulders.
