On October 12, 1991, Mariah Carey notched her record-setting fifth consecutive career-opening Billboard Hot 100 No. 1 with "Emotions". She passed the Jackson 5, who arrived with four straight toppers in 1970. Carey tallied her first four No. 1s (of 18 to date, the most by any soloist) from her self-titled debut album: "Vision of Love", "Love Takes Time", "Someday" and "I Don't Wanna Cry".
