Mariah Carey supports Push Black History

She has truly maximized on her ability to reign in her massive following of over 9.5 million Instagram followers and now that she knows she has a worldwide, captive audience, she is using this platform to send a very important message to her fans.

As an avid and vocal activist for racial justice and equal rights, Mariah Carey has stepped up in support of Push Black History with her very own contribution to the cause. Designed to bring awareness to important Black figures that have had an impact on our society, and on the world, she has posted a tribute to Prince, in a heartfelt moment of adoration and pride.

When it comes to recognizing Black figures that have made a significant impact on the world around us, we'd be remiss not to mention the late artist and legendary icon, Prince. Mariah Carey has ensured he is solidified as a Black leader that lived among us, and that his contributions to the world of music are not only recognized, but are revered and admired.

Prince used his influence to send messages to mass audiences about bettering the world, creating unity among the races, and according to Mariah's caption, "His 1987 Sign O' The Times was a cultural revolution that used pop and soul to address the state of our country."

She wants her fans to be "reminded of this legendary piece of work", and reminded they shall be. Her post is as focused as it is captivating, as she consciously and strategically uses her voice to push for political change from the roots. Referencing his work as "musical movements", Mariah Carey highlights not only Prince's art, but his contributions towards the greater good of the world.
