Drew Barrymore Show with guest Mariah Carey

Drew Barrymore is wishing viewers of her talk show a Merry Halloween. The Golden Globe-winning actress and Emmy-nominated host is celebrating spooky season on the October 31-episode of her daytime series by doing something unexpected: getting into the Christmas season.

People has an exclusive first look at the episode, which will feature none other than the queen of Christmas herself, Mariah Carey. The "Oh Santa!" singer looks ready for the stage, dressed in a red velvet gown with diamond jewelry and silver heels.

While she brings the jingle bells, Barrymore embraces her Scream past, dressed as the queen of Halloween. She wears a flowing orange dress with black gloves, a black belt and a feathered black collar.

To reflect the duality of the show, set designers even created a split set. On Carey's side? A winter wonderland scene with elegant Christmas trees adorned in gold ornaments, sparkling pink garland and white lights. Presents wrapped in gold paper and matching bows sit below the trees.

For Barrymore's side, a mysterious backdrop shows a nighttime scene of a witches cottage at the end of a cobblestone street. As bats fly by the building steeple, an unlit Christmas tree covered in cobwebs adorns the stage. Rather than presents, colorful pumpkins are placed below.

On the show, according to a release shared with People, Carey is opening up about the 30th anniversary of her hit holiday song "All I Want for Christmas Is You", while discussing her Christmas and Halloween traditions with 13-year-old twins Monroe and Moroccan, whom she shares with ex Nick Cannon.

The Grammy winner also plus her new line of holiday snow globes, tree skirts and more, before Barrymore and the "Drew Crew" model their skills in a spooky door decorating contest with special tips for the audience.

Barrymore has made dressing for Halloween a staple on her daytime series since it debuted in September 2020. Last year, she chose joy by transforming into American painter, art instructor and The Joy of Painting host Bob Ross - right down to his signature afro and beard.

In addition to Ross' 'do and facial hair, Barrymore also put a little hair on her chest, too. She wore one of Ross' classic blue button-downs, opened to show off the curls (and her gold chain necklace).

Currently in its fifth season, The Drew Barrymore show started as an hour-long series, but beginning in 2022 was reformatted into two half-hour installments. It's currently been renewed through season 6, which will take the daytime show through the 2025-2026 season. The Drew Barrymore Show airs weekdays on CBS.
